    You know the saying "looks can be deceiving"? That's true for Ursula here. She (aside from Flounder) is the only character in the movie who understands what Ariel wants. Ursula even warns Ariel what would happen if she wasn't successful. If it weren't for the fact that she was trying to take over the sea, she would probably be considered a hero/misunderstood villain. Don't believe me? Ask my mom.

      It never fails to make me so happy to read that my videos are helping someone to improve their languages, so thank you so much for telling me these things!
      Your Italian is not half bad, congrats! A few mistakes here and there, but mostly only expressions which are not outright _wrong,_ they just sound a bit odd in Italian, e.g. "Parlando Spagnolo e Catalano come lingue native" is not wrong, but a bit weird. You'd rather say "essendo madrelingua spagnolo e catalano" (note: languages are never capitalised in Italian), and rather than "lingua nativa" (it does exist, but it's not so common an expression) you should say "lingua madre". At any rate, that's some very good Italian you got there, you're most certainly on the good way to become pretty much fluent!
      And thank you for offering your help with Spanish and Catalan, but I'm mostly focused on Germanic languages (especially Nordic ones), and Romance languages usually fall in the "passive department" of my linguistic skills x) But thank you anyway ^^
      There is something I need help with, actually. I've been desperate for a native Catalan to explain a couple of passages in the Catalan version of "Into the open air": ruclips.net/video/iusLxUJR_s8/видео.html
      - in the lines "Aquest amor és un sol viu / Cau a prop i en rebem el caliu", I can't quite understand what that "cau a prop" means...help, please?
      - in the line "Hem de treure l’amor que ara ens perd", it seems to me that the translation turns roughly to "We must take this love we're now losing (outside, under the open sky)", except..."this love we're *now* losing"? Is this what "que ara ens perd" means? Because it doesn't seem to make much sense in the context...or does it?

    • @afishsdubbings
      @afishsdubbings 2 года назад

      @@FlamSparks Sooo here I am, after watching Brave, sobbing in front of my phone 😂
      Let's start with the first sentence you wrote. "Aquest amor és un sol viu/ Cau a prop i en rebem el caliu".
      The verb "caure" can be used in many different contexts and, therefore, acquire different meanings. The only two meanings that make sense, because of the context, are:
      1. To be, in a certain place or moment. In this case, "caure" has the meaning of "escaure" / "trobar-se", which can be translated as "to be (located or found)".
      It's something you can definitely hear, although there are other ways to express it that are more common, but it's absolutely correct.
      2. To fall, i.e. the sunset. It's a weird way to express it, like... The sunset is near? Idk 😂 I would stick to the first meaning.
      Now, the real stuff 🥲
      "Hem de treure l'amor que ara ens perd (a fora, a cel obert)". The literal translation would be: "We must take the love that loses us now (outside, into/under the open sky)", which ye, is basically what you wrote 🥲 *BUT* that sounds a little off, though they are actually losing/gonna lose soon (gonna be separated of) the love they are just reviving, since they are most likely gonna lose each other. But I don't think it's too fitting for any of them to say something like "let's enjoy our love together now that we don't have time 💀" so I wouldn't go for that option.
      The verb "perdre" could also be interpreted as "to confuse", but not really sure if it's the case here 🥲 Nevertheless, that would sound better than the previous translation, right? " _We must take the love that confuses us now_ ". It's confusing because they have never felt this united, cooperative and understanding?
      Idk, there might be different ways to interprete this, but it was so much fun to do this!!
      Also, the lyrics given on internet don't mention any particle before the line "cada dia vull parlar amb tu...", while there is surely something right before "cada", and I would go with "jo" (I), which doesn't affect the sentence at all, though xd.
      I would love to help with any other doubts you might have!! If there is something confusing about what I said or unclear, tell me!! 😱
      I really enjoyed it 🥲✨

    • @FlamSparks
      @FlamSparks  2 года назад +1

      So, long story short, let's see if I got this....
      - "caure" here stands for "to be (there/in that place)"
      - "perdre" could mean in this specific instance "to confuse/confound"
      The latter still sounds a bit odd to me, but I guess these lyrics were just not neatly written...anyway, thank you for your help!
