I'm using filler rhythm for vocals aswell. works out pretty well, a 175BPM song does not need to have those filler rhythms on my opinion and the slider tail is actually 1/2 sometimes an equal beat itself but to the vocal its just filling the gaps to keep the play flow
So if you want your map to be more easily read without having to use the beat snap divisor for everything, you should think about a what kind of beat your map has and how you can keep it consistant as possible right?

Being "boring" shouldn't be a real concern. The game's a rhythm game, if you can't play a song exclusively based on the rhythm and have to constantly break from being immersed in a song to looking at an approach circle to determine how quickly to move your cursor or when to click, why bother having music at all? It doesn't just have to be time-distance consistency, it can also be frequency or related in some other way to the music, but something obvious and consistent, breaking consistency or having a pattern that makes no sense is actually boring because it's just some garbage reaction clicking game with some music playing in the background, the entire point of the game is to have those two work together to make something more than just the clicking or just the music alone.

Longer ones that span about 1/2 to 1/1. Not the ones that just kick back and forth continuously in like 1/8

those are called reverse slider ends iirc, i use kick sliders for really short sliders and buzz sliders for buzz sliders.
