    Should have showed a 3 story Modular working with it sitting on the platform.

    • @jamesalphonse1099
      @jamesalphonse1099 9 месяцев назад +2

      A modular would be bigger than the platform. That combined with the apparent light range which you can guesstimate from this video probably means lights near the top wouldn't work so well or maybe not at all. Plus, the lights weren't visible at full room brightness. A wired light kit doesn't have any of those issues.

      You could mount the pad on the side or back wall of the building

  • @adutibi

    would have been a lot more interesting to find out how far above the base plate the lights go out and how many can a base plate power without a loss in brightness

    maybe if they managed to make the lights compact enough they could release modified lightsaber hilt pieces with them inside, defs still cool to see tho!

    But I will wait for further improvements. Larger base plate and if possible, a wireless base plate(battery powered) would be perfect for shelve displays that don’t have access to electrical outlets.

    So do you need the base to use the lights? If so that doesn't seem like practical if you have a large Lego city, unless you put the bases under the city itself, in which case, they would need to buy like twenty of these bases just to level out the city.....

  • @Stllno
    @Stllno Год назад +2

    What is the effective range? Reason being that for any model that stands ‘tall’ these lights may not operate if they are too far from the base

    its cool, but with wired kits there are SO many options, flicker, flash, pulse, rotating modules, stop light modules, etc. etc. I've installed many LED light kits and you get better at it over time and hiding the wires. There are certain applications where this would be good, though, huge minifig displays. Larger and taller sets is another issue, I wonder if the platform can be extended...

    If the base was a lil smaller and able to be built into a building that would be awesome so that way the base could be hidden in the build. I also would say if there is anyway to get a lil more range that would be a big help.

      I don’t think the range is that high, but what you could do is use the lighting base as a vertical backboard and light it that way, similar to what I showed with the Mech in the review!

    Are these lights powerful enough that they can light up the interior of a modular building. Because that would be a real game changer. Because all those fucking wires. in those special custom lights kits you can buy for modular building are a real pain to install. But these lights don't seem powerful enough. since they work well on things like car headlights. Does anybody know they work for building? please let me know?

    I'm not convinced by this product at all.
    To connect to sets it needs those really ugly slots. You can't just swap out an existing 1x1 plate for a glowing one or sneak a 1x1 plate round with hollow stud onto your light sabers.
    Also the fact that all lights are always on is another downside. No traffic light has all lights on. And the cop car would be better with actually blinking lights.
