Voigtmann is never a better playmaker than Hartenstein.
And finally, we would not have to choose between those. Kleber would be there for Thiemann and Hartenstein for whoever is warming the bench between Kratzer, da Silva, etc...
@@pangruel2268 Kleber is too injury prone and he didn't commit last year so Dennis slammed him "he has no game". I'm in favor of Kleber but he seems out indefinitely. Dennis should have never said that publically as the captain of the team. Hartenstein is similar in playmaking as Voigtmann but the latter is better and Co-Captain of the team, a real glue guy. Hartenstein has shown little to no interest in playing for the NT, so I doubt we'll see him when we have so many alternatives. Kratzer and da Silva already got cut. There's also 2 time Euroleague champ Pleiss but he effed up when he left the NT prep for a slim chance for an NBA contract years ago...
It's insane this Canada team is still missing Murray, Wiggins and Tristan Thompson.. Germany is also very good.

Love to see Dennis play well but Canada has got to get that same passion Germany has! Good overall effort with the comeback though.
First exhibition game for Canada, not for Germany. Just had arrived off plane 2 days before this. Looked horrible 1st half, better in 2nd half. Germany is considered a medal threat and they threw their best at Canada even in 4th quarter when Canada didn`t play any of their starters. Would have loved to have seen big Zach Edey for Canada to bang with Theis who had good game. Hopefully see Edey on Sunday when they probably will play them again.

Yes they pass the ball around more mainly because of fiba rules (court is smaller and no defensive 3seconds)but if yu think this is better then watchin the nba then yu are smokin d’ck .

@@spicykaraage641 yeah the no hand checking rule made a BIG difference in how you had to guard someone. Plus adding the fact that the skill level for nba players today are at a all time high just equals High powered offensive skills shown off
@@highlightking0 another thing was centers were no longer allowed to camp in the paint which was introduced in the early 2000s to favor explosive guards. Which makes Jordan's dominance in driving to the basket extraordinary given that this rule was not enforced in the 90s.

Canada is a woefully short team with a bunch of 6'6 players with only two big men in Powell and Olynyk. They're going to get bullied in the paint by these huge European teams. Praying to the basketball Gods that Murray will be able to suit up for the tournament. Without him, this team won't go far. There're so many good teams competing and Germany is just one of them.
they actually have former NBAer Kyle Alexander 6`10 with long wingspan and monster 7 foot 4 Zach Edey who is FIBA star but didn`t play this game. Everyone overreacting, this was Canadas first exhibition game , not Germany`s. Just arrived 2 days before too, and did not care about this result as much as Germany who was playing their best all game unlike Canada who didn`t play their starters in 4th quarter. Germany is medal threat so as canadian very happy how game turned out, big improvement in 2nd half where Canada had 11 more points than Germany. Germany will not get whole lot better, Canada will improve bigtime each day. Bring on Edey and then hopefully Murray but team can still be very good.

International basketball reminds me everytime how the NBA is really a reality TV show. On about 10 plays where a player finished through contact on This clip you can count 2 foul out of 10 finishes, which would've result into 9 fouls(and One) in the NBA

Canada doesn`t care about winning this game, working slowly in, starters didn`t even play 4th quarter. Germany meanwhile went all out to win. SGA is fine playing internationally. Look up his highlights from last summer against World cup runner up in 2019,Argentina and Dominican Republic. SGA was the best player on the floor. Germany by the way is a good team. They have a chance to medal at this world cup. And by the way, I think USA is a solid FIBA team. Americans were mostly the ones complaining about their own team, wanting Curry,Lebron,Durant and all the other stars. USA doesn`t usually take their superstar veterans to world cup.

Well they have to run and push a lot, I don't think they can overcome the size differences. Shai, Jamal, Dillion, Dort are able to pressure the opponent guards a lot which could lead to a very fast game. I won't be suprised to see canada in the semis.

You never want to lose but I'm taking this loss with a grain of salt. Unsurprisingly, hosts Germany came out guns blazing and led 27-14 after Q1. 1st 19 minutes of the 2nd half Canada outscored Germany 45-29 to tie things up 79-79. Germany outscored Canada 7-2 in the last 55 seconds. So yes, it's a disappointing loss but Canada showed how dominant they can be. Exhibition games are opportunities to gel and make adjustments. I'd be more worried if they show no improvement the next few weeks.
Really though. Summer is winding down and why are guys like Olynyk and Powell going to bust ass in this road game when it’s meaningless. Germany needed to win and this was a tryout for the end of Canada’s bench. Germany played well and will be strong.

@@Levnoxious Actually from what I've heard, Fiba rules help bigs like him. For example, I'm pretty sure they can sit in the paint all game and there is little to no offensive interference. We still need him regardless, I'm sure if he can play college level, fiba is not too far fetched.
@@sumpeoplebelike4873 agreed. They can beat the sh!t out of each other in the paint. But the second he has to step outside to defend he’s done. Unless there’s a specific matchup that favours him, like that Czech big man , edey is pretty much unplayable at this point. But he’s young.
@@Levnoxious He's not the best in that area but certainly not the worse. I think this area is something he's constantly improving on. For instance, this year he's shown that he can chase down the opposition and get blocks, and contest well without fouling. Idk if the younger fiba experience will help him anymore but I think he's been playing in Fiba setting for a while.
yep no kidding, FIBA Zach Edey is a monster. Some of the canadian basketball minds, podcasters and twitter people seem to think Kyle Alexander is better. He is definitly more athletic but i want Edey to bang with guys like Theis,Gobert and Valancuinis, those kind of guys.
