Awesome good for you ! If I press the pedal I could be travel ready in three month as well, but I have so many other things going on in life which I enjoy as well. No need to hurry, I will be in Europe almost the whole October, have only two month left till take off. I target next year for the first trip ! Cheers
It looks fantastic! I did notice at 9:35 the habitat is heavy and the truck is sagging and not level. You may consider adding extra heavy duty leaf springs in the rear to level the frame and provide extra travel clearance when driving on uneven road plus I imagine you still have more to add inside to complete it which will add more weight. Not only that, once the batteries are installed, the water tank(s) are filled, it is full of diesel, and all the other item to take a trip the rear will really be sagging. If it is possible you may even consider sliding the rear axel rearward about 60cm. I cannot wait to see it all fitted out for its first adventure. Very cool rig
Thank you ! The box definitely added weight to the truck and I have to consider using heavier springs and maybe shocks, but first I keep building so I can scale the truck ( have not driven the truck since the wedding ) and find out what the total weight added is. About the levelness I am not sure yet because my property has a significant slope where the truck stood. Cheers
Nice Video again. It is a great experience and exiting feeling when the habitat and chassis come together. At the end of June I made that move also. It was just a temporary marriage because it was only for taking some critical measurements that could not be done when separated. Sooooooo next week they will be devorced again but then will stand next to each-other until painted. You can see the process on the other SMedia under Frans Donners and f.donners. Please let me know how you liked that one.
Absolutely I was so relieved when I saw they fit together, more than 1 year build time and not knowing it fits and you keep dumping more money in lol. You measure everything 100 times but you still have some doubts because you don't do this every day. Thanks
Congratulations 🌟 🎊 👏 Even with the hiccups along the way, excellent job. It does seem the time has flown by. Well done. It would be good to make a q&a video. But definitely enjoy the summer weather and time with family. How's the interior coming along? Looking forward to the evolution of the channel. Thanks for being such a motivation to many of us.💪👍📺🛠🧰
Thank you very much ! The interior has not changed much yet I was focussed to get the outside done mounted and power hooked up. I have to get use to work outside without shelter not so easy with the summer heat . I guess you have less issue with that lol
@@oscaroverlander_MB1222AF FYI, the advice your gave on the bodymount springs worked out so well! Thanks, loading my box hopefully in the next 2 weeks. Cheers from SA
That's awesome I'm trying to avoid needing a crane for my build which is a bit bigger than that. I thought your wheelbase would be longer compared to the habitat. Be careful on leaving gas stations that the swing over the rear axle doesn't take out a pump!
Nice. It hangs a bit far aft behind the rear wheel. What about when the cabin moves from side to side? Is there sufficient clearance for the underneath boxes ?
Thank you. The overhang to the rear is exactly 60% of the wheel base within allowed spec's. In case of the clearance for the storage boxes ... yes because they are mounted on the subframe which moves the same way as the habitat does. Means the boxes swing with the cabin. Cheers
Yes I have 9 brackets mounted to the subframe holding the habitat and 8 bolts through the subframe arms in to the habitat all M 14 bolts with 10.9 grade, will show that in the next video.
My wheelbase is 3600 mm ( 11'.8" ) bumper to bumper 7200 mm ( 23'.6" ) plus the little bedroom overhang in the rear 550mm ( 1'.8" ) total length 7750 mm.
beautiful build. We are working toward our truck being this nice!
Thank you. You can do it!
You take care of you Oscar. We enjoy your videos and I'll be here when you come back. Congratulations on your outstanding build.
Thank you very much !
Nice job. Congratz.
Thanks a lot !
Fantastic, I totally get the marriage nervousness, so pleased your hard works paid off 👍
Cheers Phil (about three months from completion) 😊

It definitely is thank you very much !
Very helpful - I face the same process to get the habitat on the truck
Thank you and good luck for your project.
Its an exciting day when you get to put the box on the truck...awesome!!!
It definitely is and I did a bad job at containing my excitement 😉
Congratulations to the happy couple!!! Very exciting, good work
Thank you very much !

Thank you Frans, you have good progress on your project. Some steps look very familiar, I like it ! Cheers
What a milestone. Delighted to see the project nearing completion. That must have been such a fantastic feeling to see those two join together.

Thank you, it turned out that the crane would be the better solution right from the beginning even cost wise. Cheers
Nice sir 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you.

DID JUST PUT THE BOX ON CHASIS AND THATS ALL ? OR DID YOU FIX IT WITH SOMETHINGELSE ?

This is first time I see your wheelbase. What is the total length of your rig?
My wheelbase is 3600 mm ( 11'.8" ) bumper to bumper 7200 mm ( 23'.6" ) plus the little bedroom overhang in the rear 550mm ( 1'.8" ) total length 7750 mm.
@@oscaroverlander_MB1222AF Thank you good info -- My wheelbase is 4470mm (cab over crew cab) My rig is about 24ft a few inches long
