I'd think that the main reason anyone would choose the Pixel7 over the S22 is simply the price. There is little doubt that the S22 is the 'better' phone and has more features, but the Pixel is also very good and cost a lot less.
Samsung maybe has better hardware but pixel has better software hands down I think it's preference more than anything
To me it actually feels like pixel now has more features than Samsung.
Hell Samsung is willing to scrap features that not everyone knows about just to freaking satisfy AT&T and Verizon over their Network insecurities.

I switched from my Galaxy to the Pixel 7Pro and I'm not going back. The transparent icon feature is a cool starter. Once you dive in the Ai in Google starts to show off, it screens and correctly rejects all of the spam calls, transcribes voicemail FAST, it translates foreign languages with its camera, it navigates automated call menu at banks and such with written on-screen summery and options, it has a Cinema effect for videos that blurs background and it's fun to use, RUclips TV plays when minimized, it still gives me old school three point navigation option which is great.
personally I found Pixel 7 pro much less smart than my old Samsung s8, and omg so many glitches! But what I hate the most is the post editing of photos in pixel that you can't turn off. This is ridiculous

There's gonna be a ton of bias around and everyone has there opinions , I bought a Pixel 6 pro couple years ago and it's been great , recently bought a s23 ultra , after a week and half I am returning the s23 ultra , mainly because I will be getting the pixel 8 pro for about 450 dollars Canadian cheaper , s23 ultra had better battery and charging , pretty much only things I thought were better.
For the money pixel is tough to beat but I do understand if people are getting phones on a plan where they pay monthly then it's just a preference
Quite often you mention the phrase, "the Samsung Galaxy series phones". But the feature you are describing is in the flagship models only (S22/23 Ultras). Right now you can pick up a pixel 7 pro for total contract price £770. The same contract on a S22 Ultra is £939, S23 Ultra £1058. At nearly 40% more, I would expect more. Comparing apples and oranges.
Great observations. Was on the fence about switching but decided not to as I might regret it. This video just helps to reinforce my decision. The S22U is really a powerhouse device. The only downside is the mediocre battery life but that might be addressed with the upcoming S23 series.

In the past weeks, I've been crazily thinking to switch from my S10+ to a Pixel 8 or 8a (depending on the deal, as the prices are quite similar but the deals with the 8a are better now), but I'm really afraid I'm going to regret it. Besides, although the the S10 series is already old, mine is still in excellent condition, my only concern is the lack of security updates, of course.
I still don't understand how Google, the owners of android, cannot offer more OS updates to their own phones than Samsung do. That should be Googles biggest selling point for their Pixel phones. If Samsung is offering 4 years of OS updates, Google should be offering 5 or 6 years. I don't get it.
Its probably because samsung holds the most revenue of android(goolge software) sales. And if google offers more OS. Samsung isnt gonan be happy and then the relationship would decrease. And because samsungs revenue helps google they would not want to do it. Also samsung manufacts many product for google.
Hardware limitations is why they cant give but so many OS updates. Samsung devices use the latest and greates hardware when the device launches, whereas new pixel devices often times use hardware components that are years old ( for example the pixel 7 and pixel 8 will use the same modem ) and for that reason google is not able to give many years of updates like samsung
Google uses older hardware. Also upgrades require firmware upgrades which may be done by the hardware manufacturer. This costs money to the hardware makers. Google isn't a hardware manufacturer.
The Pixel uses advance software to enhance hardware. Flagships use muscled up hardware to advance software. Which is why Google saves by using older hardware. But you can only tweak old hardware for so many years before it shows its age.

After 10 days, I returned the Pixel 7 and bought a new regular Samsung S22.
I hated the Pixel, the fingerprint simply does not work, always on display is annoying as does not unlock automatically fluid as at Samsung, many says that the 90hz screen does not make a difference, but it does, and yes.. I wouldn't think I would miss Samsung DEX
I was disappointed with the automatic translation feature and the photos for me, don't make much difference.
Also, beware of the ecosystem, Samsung Tag does not work and other devices are not as easy integrable as watch and headset!

I purchased a Pixel 7 and it doesn't support floating camera button, and it doesn't support a video lock screen. The interface is cumbersome. There's no easy way to close all apps -- you must scroll -- passing applications. Battery life is poor and the phone is very hot to the touch. I'll be returning it.

Good video thank you. I use a Pixel 7 Pro and I have used the S22U several times this year, I agree with what you say but I still prefer the Pixel. Many testers prefer the Samsung speakers...which are sorely lacking in bass and this is one of the points for which I prefer the Pixel 7 Pro

Only thing holding back to use Samsung is because of smoothness of the UI. Whats the use of these many features that samsung offers if it can't deliver smooth and fluid experience. I shifted from samsung to pixel 7 pro and I can surely say pixel is the most fluid and smooth device which matches iOS levels.

@DENVEROUTDOORMAN after the Android 13 upgrade, my s22 has been super smooth. Even before the update, it was fairly smooth. I could care less about smooth animations when closing apps or scrolling 100 mph, lol.

Great video I brought the 7 pro. But I find myself putting my SIM card back in my s22 ultra. I agree 100% with what you say. Another thing I miss is being able to record on two cameras at the same time. The director's view and being able to switch the camera while video back and forth. Do not know why. The pixel phone will not switch back and forth or allow you to record on both cameras at the same time SMH. Keep up the good work. I enjoy watching your videos.

Here is my rebuttal. Every recent galaxy phone I have owned has had heating and battery management issues (background task management sucks and causes battery life to suffer much worse than other Android phones I have used). Any US carrier galaxy from the S6 forward will be locked down to high hell, so once your update support ends, that's it. The pixel on the other hand, it STUPIDLY easy to install custom firmware on, which means that it is WAY more feasible to try to get a 5+ year service life out of the phone. Not only that, but OneUI on the galaxies is STILL incredibly bloated, and honestly (as Apple, who I dislike greatly, has proven) software is MUCH more important than hardware, and the Pixel just wins hands down. Sorry, but most features are related to software... miss this and miss that... lol dude, price with the quality that Pixel phones have, it's a deal breaker, great price compared to Samsung that's almost the same quality as Pixel for 1700$ CAD plus taxe... the pixel high range costs way cheaper for flagship quality... and all the features you mentioned are most of them useless cause I'm using a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and have all the features that you mentioned, but most of them are useless and never used them, and btw I'm geek and know how a device works, so I don't think it's a great video to say don't go to pixel because of some software features... Google is known for its simple fast and best android experience, also the snappier and easier experience, that simplicity thay Pixel offer samsung doesn't have it at all,so with time, Samsung will lack that snppy smooth android experience... anyways who am I to tell people what to choose...

Screen, battery, camera and processor are the 4 biggest pillars for me when choosing any phone. I don’t have to worry about software coz on one side is apple which is my daily driver but if I even try to give android a chance again, I won’t even look at any other phone other than Samsung or pixel.

You would think that a pixel phones would have more software support than Samsung but no only actually 2 years while with the Samsung you actually get 5 years support.

That guy made a few good points about the benefits of Samsung Galaxy but I have the Pixel 7 pro and I don't regret it.
Here are some reasons why Pixel is better than Samsung:
* Unlike Samsung and the iphone Pixels don't have apps we find unnecessary. For example Samsung phones have their own Galaxy Apps while iPhone have things like Email, Stock and Apple Maps. Unlike Samsung you can simply 'disable' or 'hide' pre built apps you don't want on iPhone. Pixels might come fed with Google Apps but end of the day they are Google apps which most of us use from Gmail to Google Maps to RUclips to even Google Assistant.
* Pixels might be atrocious to longevity in software updates but like iPhones, they get software updates as soon as they launch. Third party Android rivals including Samsung typically play the waiting game before they get them due to different 'skins' such as One Ui for Samsung.
* Pixels are basically the Android counterpart of the iPhone as both besides software updates are simple and basic to use. Samsung is too over the top especially with customisation and how you can control your phone.
* Pixels have the best cameras and their photos are more 'life like' like a normal camera. Samsung cameras are too over the top especially colours. The only rival that comes close is the iPhone.
* While Android might get the third party apps after iPhone, like software updates they tend to arrive on Pixel first before Samsung and other Android rivals as they are made only by Google. Samsung and others have to approve the apps first for their multiple devices and not every one will run the same apps smoothly. For example the Samsung Galaxy S series can play high end games like Call of Duty and Fortnite with ease as they have the most powerful processors but others like the budget A series may struggle to play these kind of games. While the 7 pro sadly does also struggle with these kind of games as Tensor wasn't designed to support high end games for now at least, it can still get the job done just.

Most of the reasons pointed out here are very valid reasons. I honestly contemplated at least 8 reasons in this video when I was on the fence about giving up my Note 10 for Pixel7. I'm glad I didn't. I got the S22 ultra instead. Your channel is a great resource for Samsung users.

@@ThePhoneFuel Thanks! Something to include is Samsung health. It's an underrated platform. We get free stuff that Apple users have to pay. Also there is no chaos like Fitbit and Google fit integration when it comes to Galaxy watch. Ecosystem is stronger in Samsung compared to Pixel. I have Galaxy buds, watch4 and s22 ultra. Things just work. We still have some catching up to do in terms of ecosystem when it comes to Apple but we're not far off. S22 ultra interacts with Chromebook and window really well except for few bugs here and there.

we miss out on a few AI features in Photo editing, Thats it, samsung has more or less everything.
That may be the case for many consumer users. However, business users who depend on Microsoft and Office365 apps and use the Edge password manager, beware that currently, on the Galaxy S22, the Edge browser password autofill currently only fills passwords on the Edge browser app but it does not autofill passwords on the S22 mobile apps. We had to return our S22 Plus phones because we were unable to do any work without our Edge browser passwords. Also, some users reported mobile app password autofill service also not working with many password managers, including the popular BitWarden. So, business users beware of this critical S22 software glitch.
What's that wallpaper on the Pixel phone?? Looks cool. I have an S21 Ultra and am looking forward to the S23 personally although I have thought about switching to Pixel 7 Pro but honestly think I'd miss the edge panel too much.

I have recently been having issues with my S20 dropping calls in the middle of a conversation. More than that, I am finding that in the middle of a conversation, the person who I am talking with will suddenly not be able to hear me but I can hear them. This is the most annoying and frustrating thing that is happening There is nothing interfering with my microphones when this happens. I have been reading a lot about this being a big problem that Samsung has been having with their phones for a while now. This is why I am looking at the pixel 7.

In my opinion, Samsung wins in four major categories over Xiaomi
1. DISPLAY
2. DEX
3. CAMERA
4. S PEN
and the rest is pure Xiaomi win for sure!
I have used Xiaomi and it offers a great OS with cool features.. apart from the 4 you mentioned samsung offers more advanced features and other features which can beat Xiaomi, for example Bixby routine, Multi tasking, edge panels, Goodlock, expert raw, overall quality of hardware etc.. may be in the future I will make some videos

2. Faster charging speed.
3. Better battery life.
4. IR Blaster.
5. Dual Apps Feature.

8. Charger included in the Box.
Agree.. No doubt it’s a fantastic phone but each to their own.. personally I can give up those features from Xiaomi for what Samsung offers.

I switched from a galaxy S8 to a pixel 7 and though the camera has good resolution, I really didn't like the phone. I wanted to use my family photo that was my Galaxy s8 as a screensaver on my Pixel 7. Part of my family gets cut off. Instead of being a family of 6 it reduces to 4. I couldn't get it to fit. I felt I lost the functionality in using my apps. Like in messenger you can't select threads to delete. I ended up having to delete my whole conversation. Also in contacts Pixel 7 doesn't have the edge bar on the side so you can choose a contact by alphabet. Pixel 7 lists all contacts by alphabet and so you have to either scroll down through the list or use the search bar to select a contact. Also the drop down menu at the top listing WiFi, Bluetooth, flashlight, and other features on Android is very limited on Pixel 7. Several times I needed to scan a QR code and I couldn't find it on Pixel 7, so I guess I have to add an app to scan the code. Also all of the buttons for power and volume is on the right side of Pixel 7 which are the only ones used to screen shot . It is not easy to screen shot a picture that way. Is it just me or has anyone else had a not so great experience with Pixel 7? I can't begin to say it is a great phone because of the lost functionality that I am used to with Samsung Android.
For the QR scanner just open the camera app and point it at the QR code. It automatically does it now 👍
Samsung Wallet is another reason that I'll add. It is superior to Google Wallet. Moreover, the 100x zoom camera on S22U is unmatched.

where can I find some nice wallpapers for my pixel 7 ? I have both the pixel 7 and the s22 and yes the Samsung s22 is the better phone. You can do so much customization on it and the pixel 7 is boring not saying it not a good phone but I can just do so much more with the s22.

Any opinions on whether I should switch from a Fold 3 to P7P? I'm a Samsung vet, and I love my fold... How about switching from Samsung M51 to Pixel 7 ? I was looking for a phone which is better than M51 but midrange.
I absolutely loved the Samsung M51 battery, camera, UI, and overall performance as well. Was looking for such a phone in Samsung itself if possible, but didn't find any.

It's a shame how Samsung seems to be the default android device than Pixel. I switched from Samsung to pixel and regret it
The camera thing might be true but only for s22 ultra. The Pixel has amazing camera and photos and videos are more reliable on the Pixel 7 compared to s20 or s21 series phones, maybe even the regular s22 also.
But yes for the overall experience, any recent S series phone is a better buy compared to a Pixel 7.

You do have a point but the only thing I do miss about my Samsung phone compared to my pixel is the screen that Samsung screen is. Just something different about it. It's just nice. There's nothing else to say. It's hard to compare anything else to it. It's just very, very nice. It's just hard to get used to that pixel screen when you're thinking about that. Samsung

i just got a samaung s23+ after having the s20+ for a few years. im going back today to get a pixel. the s23+ is an incredibly big downgrade. i lost so many features as the plus features went to the ultras in recent years.

Bloody google still hasn't fixed the lock screen quick settings anyone can turn off data, location, wifi, Bluetooth and put the device in aeroplane mode or turn off but in One UI you can't select any option in quick settings without knowing password or finger print.
Google is far better than samsuck. Google is kind of iphone of android world.
