Man, feel the power of her voice and her band! Miss the 80's the rock bands. Those of us who grew up as teenagers and young adults should consider ourselves lucky we were able to experience the 80's. A toast to the 80's and the good memories.
Riddir: ~ Yes -, Pat Benatar's song "We Live For Love" debuted on the Billboard "Hot 100" Chart on April 5, 1980, at the #88 position. By-the-way, here is the "link" to that chart, at the Billboard website: www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/1980-04-05
Pat hits those notes every time. She hits them with astonishing clarity. That's because she has a highly trained voice:) Pat is a gem for humanity to treasure forever.
I used to request this at our roller rink, every other Saturday night…1980-1982, Jr High years. 😍😍By the 5th/6th time, I’d just wave at the DJ and he’d put it on within a few songs. Great memories attached to this song! Thanks, Pat & Neil + band. ❤
Heard this on the radio today and HAD to listen again Haven't heard it in years! Will add this to my karaoke list for sure! Her vocal range is incredible. The back up music is infectious!!
Phenomenal performance by Ms. Benatar and her band especially hitting all those high notes and alot of energy, didn't know that Scott Sheets played lead guitar on this song.
I WAS 16 YO when I first heard this great tune. My number 1 by Pat and Nick, followed by "Promises in the Dark" and its EPIC transition at the end, lasting 4 seconds!!
Here she is: Mrs. Ballbreaker in her finest glory! You see the range she was known for back in the day. Personally, I think this was her finest tune. I truly believe that!
I saw her in Oakland in the early 80's and she brought her daughter on stage. She was a toddler about 2 years old and now she is a beautiful woman just like her mom. BENATAR ROCKS!!
I like this version better than the studio version. The studio version sounds so thin, it'd be great if they could remaster it or even rerecord some of the instruments (keeping Pat's vocal track) to fill out the sound.
Once, back in the day, Pat Benatar was asked who she idolized in music. She said that if she could sing like any one person it would be....,Chrissie Hynde:)
I was 22 in 1982 so I can relate exactly to what you're saying. We were so lucky to have so many great rock bands then. These groups inspired me to learn guitar. What great times I had going to concerts then. I wish it was the 80s again.
My adolescence was in 2003, living in a poor third world country where international music was a luxury item, at parties at friends houses where i had spent the whole week surfing torrents to acquire concerts like this one and make our own party at the weekend. Today everything is available on youtube and you don't value it, nowtime everything is "free" and you don't value it, so enjoy while you can.
Loop time* Listen and feel, but just look at them. Out of control levels of pure joy. Just like the flow from my eyes. All aboard? Ride the Ride of Sound!
Last comment I made on this same vid was 2 years ago. I.....can.....NOT....BELIEVE this amazing woman is not in the "Rock hall of Fame" yet. It makes absolutely no sense. She's an absolute original. Trailblazer. Extraordinary talent. Every day this amazing woman isn't in that "Hall of Fame"....is another day that "Hall of Fame" not only embarrasses itself , but delegitimizes itself. And when they finally pull their collective heads out of their "Hall of fame" asses.....this entire original lineup should be in with that brilliant and gorgeous lady. Neil (of course), Myron, Roger, Scott. Incredible group. Also...upon watching this vid for the kazillionth time, I spotted a near catastrophe that almost happened. At the 2:37 mark, Neil is behind Pat, and as the camera switches to a side shot, you see that his foot is right behind Pats feet. And she starts to step back, she hits Neils foot and he QUICKLY moves it out of her path. Had he not moved it, a very good chance that Pat in those sexy boots would have fallen. They play it off like pros...Of course. Love you Pat Benatar! Long live....the Queen of Rock and Roll!
Finally got to see Benatar at June Fest 2016 outdoors at Sunset Station. Bucket List check mark! Don't worry about RnR HoF, they are not worthy of you, Pat.
Wow! Right on! Don't know where you got this but kudos! I saw her as at a "Rising Star" show long ago, (crap, like 30yrs or so!) and she's still got it! This is vintage Pat even if she's a bit flat in spots! Still love the girl, along with Heart the two reigning woman fronted rock acts
norris....amen! and I say I agree.....but sadly, them days are gone and we will never see this genre of great musicians and singers:( I wish I was back in 1981
One of the MOST BEUTIFUL VOICES IN ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY!!! THANK YOU PAT BENATAR FOR YOUR MUSIC AND ANGELIC VOICE!!!
Still love this woman after 45 years she still can sing and put the artists of today in their place. No autotune.
In the 80s, every teenage girl wanted to be Pat. The definition of cool was Pat Benatar.
As a 15 year old in 1980 i spent alot of time alone with this film clip. A truly talented and beautiful woman
The first song I ever heard from Pat and still my favorite!!!!
Exactly the same for me !
Man, feel the power of her voice and her band! Miss the 80's the rock bands. Those of us who grew up as teenagers and young adults should consider ourselves lucky we were able to experience the 80's. A toast to the 80's and the good memories.
It's scary how easily she reaches into that 4th octave.
I know, right? Crazy!
trained opera singer!
Didn`t hear that song for 25 years. One of the most underrated bands.
This has gotta be somewhere in the 1979-80 period. She's absolutely gorgeous. Life long crush on this lady.
Great quality vid. Thanks for posting.

She’s perfection, in every way.

What's better is that she's Polish. ;)
Lol I saw your name and laughed
I hope when all is said and done, Pat Benatar is remembered for this song rather than "Hit me with Your Best Shot" or songs of that ilk.
Tropico is still my favorite album of hers.
Exactly 💯
It’s still my favorite song of hers. Her voice is borderline operatic in this clip.
Well, Niel wrote this one for her,and it is my FAVORITE! (BTW,she has recently quit singing "Hit me With Your Best Shot" just a few weeks ago....)
My fav by her
The voice of a siren
One of her best songs. It just rocks such a great voice. The band -drums and guitar are so underrated. They just kick butt in concert.
yeahh!
Neil wrote that song for her. It is my favorite......
@@boruff68 coincidence. They weren't dating at the time.
Those high notes send a shiver up my spine every time.
Forgot how much I love this song.
How am I JUST discovering this song now? WOW. This is epic.
My favourite Pat's and Nick's song, placing "Promises in the Dark" as second......❤🎉
I''ve seen Pat Benetar live & this is the best job vocally that I've ever heard her live. Excellent.
The original in 1979 was way ahead of it's time. Great production, flawless vocals. Awesome song!
I miss the 80's so much it hurts
A wholly unique musical catalogue. Great, powerful voice, great & powerful songs & arrangements. 🙏🏼
This was her first hit and l remember her for this one . I love this song . This is my FAVORITE BY HER ANYWAY

Even more amazing is how Pat can jump with those high heels!
Unless you lived it you will never understand the absolute power of this woman
Phenomenal performance by Ms. Benatar and her band especially hitting all those high notes and alot of energy, didn't know that Scott Sheets played lead guitar on this song.
