Whoa thank you so much for guide! This laptop is so complicated to disassemble, thank you for your very accurate guide!! I'm having issues with the GPU fan and I should replace it. I can't really use the 1Y warranty provided by Dell because this laptop was bought in Canada and not in France where I'm living... Dell consumer services are so bad, it's impossible to talk to someone skillful by phone, at least in France.
Dude I got the exactly same problem! Same feeling on Dell services. Damn it's so moving to see someone in the same situation. Do you prepare to replace the fan manually?
@@ItsBinhRepaired Thank you! Didn't wanted to take the risk to open the fan to put lubricant inside, the blades are sooo fragile. I've just sent air on it until it spins correctly. Thanks a lot. I took my device apart and thought I would order the fan unit to replace it. Unfortunately, I left the device open for a few months and forgot where all the screws belong. Thanks to your video, I can now finally put everything back together.
Can the fans be bought seperately? One of them started rattling (again) and last time Dell replaced the whole mainboard unit under warranty to fix a rattling fan. I just replaced my battery recently and it seems the cmos isn’t functioning. Can’t turn the laptop on without plugging in the charger, and I always get an error of time and day not being set. Could this be of another cause
Hey Binh, thank you for this video, have you had any issues with this laptop's keyboard stopping to work randomly and then when you flip the screen it starts to work again? I had dell replace the keyboard and rails and this would still happen until recently the keyboard died completely, any suggestions?
Hi, I tried to clean the fans (because they are running crazy all of a sudden) and used your Video to get to them. I cleaned them and put everything back in place. Then I turned it on, the fans still loud as a windy storm, and turned it off again. After this I can't turn my laptop on anymore. 😅 Do you have any ideas how to rescue my laptop? Thank you in advance 🙏🏼
I did like you said and the fans are working again. Unfortunately the touchpad decided not to function anymore 😂 Plus, the laptop started working again but when I put back the cover on it, it didn't turn on by pressing the power button. Do you know what I could do, or which cable is in the way maybe? Thanks in advance 🙏
Hey mate! excellent video! I have a question, is it possible to replace the hinges without replacing the entire screen? it is really easy to remove the screen from the base but Idk how to remove the hinges from screen.
By any chance the 2 screw holes for the torx screws (T5) closes the to the hinge replaceable? The 2 screws holding the bottom plate has come loose and stripped from just opening and closing the screen. Are they part of the palm rest assemble or a separate plate.
@@ItsBinhRepaired Sorry what I meant was the torx screw to remove the bottom base case cover. The threads in the screw hole stripped. 5:08 (the 2 black philips screws) is that attached to the palm rest assembly?
@@ItsBinhRepaired oh ok thank you and to clarify the confusion the 8 screw removed from the start of the video. The t5 screw near the hinge of the screen no longer screws in.
Just to add that you should NEVER use a METAL pry tool on this machine as this will in every case damage the casing - you should use a plastic pry tool which is designed to damage itself before any damage is done to the device you are dismantling.
You should WATCH my thousands of videos. I usually use my fingernails to pry computers open. The casing wasn't damaged, so your "in every case" comment was wrong in every case.
