I loved this video. restored a few. bought an 885lp with only 1700 hrs. Took 2 days to remove top link pin and lift arms. Regards your roof liner, they can't be bought, so you carefully remove existing, bring it to a good upholsterer and re do with stretch lining. Small money. Returned as new. Bought 885 XL. Dog rough. Today she is as new. JP Waterford. Keep the video's coming.

I had a beautiful 685xl international 83 I sold it last year to a lad. Who lost his own tractor to fire and have his fish factory business. A great tractor great for loader work same gearbox as yours. Didn't mind it. I done a lot of baling and mowing with mine. I was sorry after I sold it I done it up a few years ago. A fantastic bit of kit

i bought a new 895 stockman special around 20 years ago ,at end of lambing that year i washed it in the dark while waiting for a sheep to lamb ,as land was drying up and hoped to get on with field work next day ,got up at 5 30 next morning ,just as well i had not put tractor back in shed ,all that was left of it was front left wheel and tyre ,burnt to a crisp ,was only 10 month old ,insurance took 10 month to sort out as i had paid £19,500 for it with loader and grab and they were only willing to pay me £13000- ,,electrical fault which seemed to be common on this model after i did some investigation

Nice to see this video so one can get to know the model. I guess quite a lot can be applicable to the 485, 495 and 3220. I have a bigger tractor from the early 90thies, back hinged doors etc. but I would like a smaller one too. I've had a MF 175 when I went for the current Valmet 6300 and I don't want to go back to something 60thies or 70thies. I like the creature comforts. But it's for hobby so nothing I put money into for new things. I read a lot of technical data on machines and when I discovered the smallest model of this, 3 cylinder, I felt it was the right one. Basically a tiny tractor with a giant cab :-)
Though I haven't seen any of them here in Sweden. Maybe some in Denmark. I've set up notifications on a second hand site so if something is listed with the correct search term I get a notification. Hoping for it to someday say there is a nice 3220 with XL cab that I can get.

My dad never had a tractor that started first time , usually battery, then fuel, 2 to 3 hrs work every time. Sometimes a few days, used a neighbor's more than his own.
Neighbor's tractor had to be hill started as he didn't have battery.
We had bad battery's , bad fuel, bad pump , bad starter . And no hill.
Dad was a mechanic, never fixed his own stuff.

Me neighbour has a 895XL with a quickie loader and holy shit it's ruf has never seen a grease gun since he got it and when ya shake the bucket the loader has a half inch of backlash and rattles and bangs when you hit a small stone and the linkage PTO and gearstick rusted solid because he left it sitting outside in a Scottish island winter and now the roof of the cab fell in😂

IFarm WeFarm he does as well. Me grandad has had internationals from the 60's and everyone of them was kept in mint condition. The ones I've been told most about is his case 885xl 2wd, 1690 2wd, 956xl 2wd and his beautiful 4240 pro XL 4wd loader tractor and all in mint condition even his scraper tractors were mint like his Fergie 135 international 414, 352? And 423? Can't remember correctly the models but he made sure to keep them mint to keep the resale value up because he only got rid of them when they get above 8k hours except the 1690 what blew up several hydra shift gearboxes before it got to 3k hours. It was on the trailer harvester most of the time

We got the clutch fixed and the whole tractor went in half (We didnt do the job ourself since its very hard) But now the speedomoter doesnt work. And it wont start. it wont go on ignition but when u press the hazzard lights they do somehow work and the battery is fine. Sometimes it suddently works but when u start driving the dash starts fading again. How can i fix this?
