Hey there... Do I need the resistor for a 2013 charger pursuit also? I ran just a ground wire to Pin 11 and I still get hood ajar. In Alpha OBD it doesnt give the resistor option like you show. Also I have been using Appcar DiagFCA
@@_WADE13x Can a 1k 1w resistor be used? Or does it have to be a 1k 1/2w resistor? I only have some 1k 1w right now. I will have to order some 1k 1/2w ones
hi guys for anyone doing this or having problems with remote start get the alfaobd or jscan apps. on my 2008 dodge chager I was getting a no hood switch when I did a seach for remote start inhibit reason. So I used jscan to go into adaptation search hood and changed my hood switch to on. On alfaobd you have to connect to the bcm and the go to car configuration. In there you will not find hood when you search like in the video, but it is there , its just under configurable outputs b14, change that to on and that is how I got my remote start working again.
So basically get new keys an get someone to program the keys then hook the hood wire up An buy a obd reader an follow the steps ?? Will any obd reader work ??
@@_WADE13x so if I buy the generic fobs just for the autostart button, will those program with that alfaobd app or will a locksmith/dealer have to reprogram my keys? Also, can this be done using a LAUNCH X431 OBD2 scanner, etc? Thanks for the info in advance.
@@jrg6809 Yes you can buy the fobs amzn.to/3OW9iJV I heard you can program them with alfaobd but have yet to see it actually work. I paid a locksmith $50 to program and cut my keys. I don't know about your obd scanner If it has a connection to the BCM and shows the correct options I don't see why It wouldn't work.
@@_WADE13x how about the engine hood sensor activation? The car should not and must not start if the sensor finds the main engine hood is open. And thanks for your reply, double thanks for making it too quick.
@@mohammadkarim5764 the pursuits don't have a hood sensor you can buy one and run the wire and install it into the spot I installed my dummy wire. I do install a sticker in the engine bay warning for remote start, I only work on my car so I'm not worried about it and also seasoned mechanics know to disconnect the battery when working on a car.
I have oem remote start that was working on my 2008 dodge charger rt now it says No hood switch for inhibit reason. what could this be I already replaced the hood switch also is the wiring the same , I am thinking I can just do the resistor on pin 11.
Hi i am following your way to enable the remote start on my car, should i program the new key on my own or get it done from a locksmith? plus have you done any other mods using AlphaOBD(just curious). i will let you know how it goes.
I had a local locksmith program mine. I haven't heard anyone actually being able to program through alfaobd. But you would still need the keys cut. My local guy charged me $50 a key to program and cut.
If you want the BCM wire, you can buy it here

Did you have fleet key alike? You can check your vin on the mopar site to get a build sheet if you’re not sure.
Your a lifesaver! Took it to a shop and they were clueless on how to do it! What about a rear camera
Thank you,
And I haven't looked into the rear camera

Nice video, thanks for taking the time to make it. Can you mod your existing fob or do you need to purchase one with the remote start?
If your up for it I've been told you can swap out the rubber face for one with the remote start button and it will work

Yes but I believe you need a bypass adapter for the alfaobd to work

What crimper did you use for that pin? Looking to DIY this unless you still make the harnesses…FB listing shows out of stock.
I could make you one if you want. Just in the middle of moving would have to find everything.

Hey just wondering where you got the cover that replaces the shifter cover? That’d be a good spot to put wireless phone charger

is there anyway you can switch a column shifter to the regular one?
Yes
So you didn’t have to buy the remote start module? It was already there?
Built-in to all chargers and others vehicles that share the same bcm
That’s cool… I’ll have to cancel my order now lol…. But what’s is the module that comes with the $300 kit?
