Leo, I teach continuing ed classes to people at my community college. It's how to stay safe online. I never thought to teach them how to read a URL. Thanks for the video!
Leo, I watch all your videos and they are very informative, but your explaination of URLs is excellent and I think it was very much needed to help protect less tech-savvy uses well done
Why are domain providers allowed to give out domain names that are obviously meant to deceive &/or that contain the names of other legitimate companies.
Thanks for the info. Would it be a logical conclusion that if you see the %2F in a web address, that they are probably trying to be deceptive and it is probably not the address you think you are going to?
When no address shows on phone.. even legit sites what is solution then.. only advice I find from research is for desktop hover with mouse or right click.. also not possible on mobile phones.. accidental link clicking is also a hazard while trying to verify.. surely smart phones are more where these scam mails arrive and have to be identified.

Seems the same rules still apply from 30 years ago, but things have gotten so deep in $#%*^&÷_ that I just distanced myself from it. Got tired of trying to stay on top of it all, but I still used some aspects for programming machines. Great video!

99.9% certainly. Why would they put three characters in the URL when slash is one.
