Omg! If this helps I will give you massive respect! I just checked my GoPro and it has been an auto. We will see because I’ve been having this problem for months now. I’ll let you know.
I agree man! There is next to nothing out there on actually fixing audio issues. In my case I couldn't change any settings when the external mic was plugged in. If I unplug it I can change settings, but basically everything on the net says you need it plugged in to do anything.
Hey man, just wondering what settings you are running at the moment on your audio? Mine's popping & crackling as well & I've got mine set to auto! Cheers 🤟😁 Beanie
BeanieBoy MotoVlogs go to pro tune settings and set it to wind or stereo only. I set mine to stereo only and it does fine as long as your external mic has a good wind guard
@@motovation3181 Hi mate, what audio setting do you find the best ... Stereo or Wind? I would've thought wind would be the best setting to get rid of the popping & crackling? 🤟😁 Beanie
+BeanieBoy MotoVlogs the popping and crackling comes from the go pro trying to switch between the two for the best sound. Just have to experiment to see what sounds best to you. I find stereo sounds best to me.
Great you got it working well. Few questions though, we cant get the squid mics here in uk without paying loads and waiting months. Is the mono mic directly plugged into the go pro mic adaptor without another lead inbetween ? Also how many black lines are on your mono mic ? If you dont know what i mean then on the microphone plug on the metal where it plugs in there should be lines on it. Thanks
@@motovation3181 Thx for getting back to me. i been talking to a mic engineer and they say a mono is Ts only meaning it only has 1 black line though the end, as gfar as im aware 1 black line wouldnt work with go pro. 2 black lines is stereo not mono. so just wanted to check i have that info correct and how many black lines does your mic have at the end. thanks
TURBO TONY mine has 2 (trs) you can use a trrs mic but you will need an adapter. Can get them cheep off of Amazon. The purple panda is a good option and it comes with the adapter so you can use it with the GoPro mic adapter.
@@killders64 Did you find a fix with the purple panda mic? I contacted gopro and they sent me a replacement mic adapter but that didn't accomplish anything.
Hi I have buyed zoom h1n for vlog but my gopro 7 black dont want to active input/output i have tryed all but cant active or select something else what do i do :(
I was getting livid with all of my Jeep footage being ruined by the crackling! My old XJ makes a ton of noise, but I swore I got clear audio before. I'm tempted to go for a drive right now at 9:00 at night to test this, lol.
@@motovation3181 I actually did test it all today. I hang my GoPro H7B from the rear view mirror. The stabilization makes for great driving footage, but man the popping and distortion is awful! These setting were not my solution, though. The EIM-001 mic is just overdriven by the loud interior, no matter the setting. My solution is to just unplug it real quick when recording in the cabin. Now the internal mic does a good job dealing with all the noise when kept in Wind Only mode. That said, this video was helpful in showing me the setting!
@@chairacabrera No, it's not. None of these settings are responsible. This external mic is very sensitive and responsive - The jeep just makes way too much noise and overdrives it. The built in mic is a little less clear, but handles all the noise nicely. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
Just had some problems today with pops and clicks over 30mph, I'm going to try and switch the setting to stereo only and see if that helps, I really hope so because I wouldn't mind saving a little extra cash getting a new lapel mic.
@@killders64 Didn't work for me unfortunately, I tried one ride with wind option and one ride with stereo option and I had no luck. I had Go Pro Hero 5 & Sony ECM mic. I recently got a giant squid mic and haven't tested it yet, follow me and i'll prob upload a video on my helmet setup.
@@killders64 I just got my giant squid mic and go pro adapter and it fixed my problem so I think it was the mic. Now I just need to work on talking normal and not over doing it because I feel like while riding i need to talk more aggressively cause the outside noise. haha

Setting on Pro Tune audio ?
Pro tune only shows up on your GoPro app if you have an external mic hooked up
Plus it doesn’t seem to pull a pro tune menu on the 7 silver if that helps any
