I See that you are using only the Akadama. I really like your soil mix for the glas terrariums. Can I use that soil as well or is it too fine? Thank you!!
How do you cultivate your moss to begin with? Have you had success sowing flats with small amounts of material and getting it to spread to those large clumps you use?

Keto soil? I live in Portland Oregon do you know where I would find these supplies? How long to soak in water? How often should I water? Fall is coming in a month or so
You need to get Akadama soil. Not Keto soil, not sure why this Japanese guy translates it like this but go search online for Bonsai supply store. Westerners don’t seem to know this but Koke dama is used in creating Bonsai planted into the Koke Dama. It’s a special red clay like soil unique in Japan and has been used in Bonsai planting for thousands of years. You should not be using peat moss or clay as it would rot. Akadama though it has characters of clay like it’s NOT clay and not so acidic. It has great drainage and because of this it’s used in Bonsai container plants. You cannot substitute this. Go look up Akadama.

How it would do in our winters with -28C ?
Moss is resistant to cold, but I don't know how it will behave at -28 degrees Celsius.

Do you think this would work with regular aqua soil?
Perhaps it can be substituted with granular aqua soil.

Why do they grow differently indoors compared to outdoors?
It is a combination of factors such as light, wind, rain, and humidity.
