Cool subscription!!!
You're great, Doc, as you do stuff "for real" and not pre-set, if you know what I mean. Well done!!!
I was thinking about using tape as well.
Mr. DocP..I have a question for you..what is in your opinion the best thing to use to remove rust from a handgun.. and love the videos..
It depends on what kind of rust you're dealing with. Is it just superficial surface rust? If that's the case then you can probably take some light oil or even WD40 and an abrasive scrub like a 3M green scrub pad, and gently work the rust off the surface. You may have to use something a little tougher like a fine steel Wool or brillo.
If the rust is really embedded or deeper than just in the surface you probably will need to have it sandblasted off, and have the surface coated to protect it in the future.
This is the kind of stuff we do at the shop every day when we refurbish older fire arms of just work on one that hasn't been kept in a good condition.
I appreciate you watching the vids and I hope they keep entertaining!
@@DocP91B it's a pistol that has some piting going on, need to soak looks like..thanks for getting back to me..
@@williamcarter3818 if it's at the putting stage then it probably need a little blasting and coating to keep corrosion from coming back. You can look into Cerakote, powder coating, bluing, whatever you prefer.
Is the sloppier ( 10:00 ) handle wrap any better for grip or comfort would you say? I kind of like both “styles” aesthetically
I think that would be up to each individual. I kind of like the "sloppy" job because it reminded me of the wrap on a Katana handle.
@@DocP91B Haha that’s exactly what I was thinking too, a cleaner wrap could fit more cord on there though I suppose. Thanks for the vids and reply doc
