I've been watching RUclips videos about HSR for weeks now. This video just gave me an entirely different perspective on the game's combat mechanics. You are a godsend to us.
I love how they approached skills and items in this game since in most other turn based rpgs id be hoarding healing and mana items. So here your only source to worry about being HP is pretty good choice even for me who plays aton of jrpgs.
Each competitive mode like simulated universe and forgotten hall will give you points at the start. In the overworld you must break energy containers scattered around the place or use consumables.
This was by far the most detailed and helpful guide I've seen. You deserve more attention. +1 sub here

Do enemies take more damage from elements they are weak to or is it just for the break bar?

damn. this is a lot better than my current method of "ha ha; auto-battle go brrrrrr".

yes 11% more damage roughly.

Yea they can. Shields from the same ability/source will simply refresh though.
