To be honest, I found this approuch to react to Vasco Rossi wrong. Vasco Rossi is a rock star but he is before everything else a songwriter. The music should give the right vibe following the lyrics. This song is not a party rock strong song instead it s song that make to reflection with a deep meaning. To call him a dad is redicolous to understand who is vasco i suggest to watch vasco no stop , ( you can find here in RUclips) then you will tell me if he it looks a dad . So in conclusion before you check what the song talk about and then you react about everything.
Ho evitato di commentare quando guardai la loro reazione. Condivido quello che hai detto, ridicoli in alcune affermazioni. Soprattutto se non sai nulla dell'artista e del suo lunghissimo percorso. Parole offensive e gratuite e parecchio saccenti.
Stef in the intro probably try to do something in Pink Floyd style, the original version is different (Pink Floyd are at a higher level, much much much higher).
Lyrics, music and Vasco, the real life, the life of every person, everyday life, everyone feels understood and defended. THIS IS VASCO'S SECRET. Not understanding the lyrics, does not allow for any reaction or judgment.
the same song played on the 1993 tour, with Italian guitarist (Andrea Braido) has a completely different solo, with him the notes become 8 or 9 ruclips.net/video/QUJRQlhxlfM/видео.html I recommend you to review this song "Vivere" from 1993, with the "old band" ruclips.net/video/ev3-MxgCu9A/видео.html here the stage was made like a prison because Vasco had been arrested a short time before, he began the concert by opening a cell
To be honest I believe we Italian fans miss a bit of perspective as far as Vasco is concerned. I see comments with people asking for a lot of different songs and probably everyone of them is hoping once you hear the song you will be amazed at its sound and like it like we do however in my opinion that won't happen. I will never tire of saying Vasco is a singer songwriter, no matter his attitude to rock or his band, how many people he's able to gather, his type of music has roots deeply ingrained in the Italian melodic music, lyrics are predominant in his music, and to an anglophone audience used to rock his songs sound more like ballads and similar one another because they can't understand the lyrics whose poetic flavour is totally lost in translation. I am sorry but in my opinion Vasco is not appreciatable by a non Italian audience and every time I watch a reaction I am in pain because I look at the poor guys reacting and to me they look like they are waiting for some kind of explosion that is not going to happen.
@Barbara M. Hello to you and thank you for your very well thought out comment. This we would feel is very accurate, as without the feeling from the words and the poetry in them , the song is lost. It's OK to say, have the lyrics but it's not the same really and we are hearing the same with the Maneskin songs, where the ones in Italian are more poetic as Damiano can feel the words and how they really sound and what they mean. With the two reactions to Vasco, we have been wowed by the size of the crowd and also by the great musicians, but it really is not going to get the response many are probably hoping for as the song itself does not translate. We did give Vasco a good try. Thanks for watching.
he's a 60+ in that concert of course he looks like dad! Didn't I recommended you to start from the first years? e.g. Albachiara, "Non Siamo Mica Gli Americani", Siamo Solo Noi, Fegato Spappolato, Alibi, Colpa D'Alfredo etc. This is the Vasco I much prefer: ruclips.net/video/Vkac3VaXmAM/видео.html his sarcastic view of military life and cold war was presented just like that warts and all uncensored on RAI (national TV, also very daring at that time). Vasco's first works are much more risky and fresh...after that he kept repeating the same formula for decades. Fans get too affectionated and don't see that.
Sadly without lyrics Vasco loses 90% of his potential, he becomes just well produced classic rock in a foreign language. The lyrics of this song are amazing in italian, and just cant’ be translated in English without loosing their poetry, you can get the meaning and what the song is about, but not the way it is said, the story, how linguistically, with which linguistic choices the emotion is told. That’s probably why Vasco never really had any success outside of Italy. Basically the verses are about the loss of someone who was close to the heart, the prechorus is a fake dialogue with a bunch of friends about the way you usually complain about life with friends, and finally the chorus, very late in the song, “siiiiiiiii… stupendo, mi viene il vomito” “Yeah, wonderful, I need to puke”. Wonderful, really.
You cannot understand how special vasco is for us italians....for us he is a god and a poet and his songs are life stories that we live every day.....followed by 3/4 generations....and his live are pure emotions....you are great i always follow you....a hug from italy....

Linking that melodic approach to a feeling of disgust sounds quite beautiful in italian. React to his song "Sballi ravvicinati del terzo tipo" (Live Modena Park)...
In spare time
when I think about the days you were here
it was difficult, I remember it well
but it was wonderful to work it out together
And now I can't find any peace of mind
looking at a photo
realizing that time is flying
and that we have only one life...
And I remember who wanted
fantasy to take control...
those were the days of big dreams...you know
even the illusions were true
But I don't remember if the people there
were having these faces
don't tell me it's just like that
don't tell me it's them!
Now I am no longer nostalgic about tomorrow
always willing for something to drink
always willing to keep a glass at hand
And now, that I don't tremble anymore
not even for love...yes!
I need what I don't have
I need to be ruthless
But I remember the one who wanted
a world better than this
yes, you're actually making up stories... (but come on)...
what do YOU want more than this
And who cares "who loses"
these are the rules
That's what life is about! and it's time for you to GROW UP!
you have to take it as it comes
YES!!
WONDERFUL!
I'M GONNA THROW UP!
cannot help it
I DON'T know
if I'll stay here
or if I'll come back
if i'll come back
if i'll come back in a short while, in a short while...in a short while
But I remember the one who wanted
a world better than this
yes, you're actually making up stories... (but come on)...
what do YOU want more than this
And who cares "who loses"
these are the rules
That's what life is about! and it's time for you to GROW UP!

Vasco talks about life and if you don't understand what he is saying it is difficult to experience the emotions he communicates. Grazie.

the same song played on the 1993 tour, with Italian guitarist (Andrea Braido) has a completely different solo, with him the notes become 8 or 9 ruclips.net/video/QUJRQlhxlfM/видео.html I recommend you to review this song "Vivere" from 1993, with the "old band" ruclips.net/video/ev3-MxgCu9A/видео.html here the stage was made like a prison because Vasco had been arrested a short time before, he began the concert by opening a cell
@Barbara M.
Please guys react to some Ligabue's songs!!! I suggest u for example to listen to urlando contro il cielo, certe notti or ho perso le parole ;)
Crazy Song Two: ieri ho sgozzato mio figlio (Vasco Rossi).
I suggest you Angeli, with the guitar solo at the end
Vasco is Vasco, forget Dire Straits, Chris Rea or anybody else.
Bravo!!!! Diglielo!!!!
