In case you guys didn’t know, Landon Tewers (The Plot In You) produced the vocals on this album and the band credits him on helping with some of the writing and melodies as well.
@@nathandjohnny totally agree, he’s got to be one of the most creative and soulful vocalists and writers we have in the scene. I feel like you can hear his influence here for sure. This whole album is truly a vibe.
YESSSS THIS IS MY FAV TRACK BY THESE GUYS NOW! Literally I take so much inspiration from these guys in my music because these guys are literally reinventing the definition of metal
Ya me too, i discovered these guys 24 hours ago when I did my weekly research on Spotify searching for another band to knock my 🧦 off .. i was listening to some of my favorites that I have in the current playlist and goddamn do I love the Spotify algorithm over the past 4/5 years. It has blessed me up with some incredible music and all my all-time favorite bands. Anyway, I don’t know why I felt the need to tell every detail about how it all happened. I’ll jump straight to the point when I found these guys, my 🧠 was it like 🤯 and I stuck with them for like three hours.. I highly recommend anyone else who has the same music choice, and gets all giddy when they find a new band to do the same routine.
Completely agree with Johnny about this giving Thornhill vibes. The vocalist has awesome range and the riffs were heavy. There is a ton of reverb which made it a bit difficult to comprehend some of the bass lines. I’ll listen to it again and hear what I missed on first listen.
You guys rule! Always love the banter & the honest opinions on each band/song you listen to. Hope to hear you guys cover more songs off of the new August Burns Red album ❤
From start to finish it may be the best metalcore album I have ever heard. Maybe that’s because it’s so fresh in my mind, but I can’t remember a metalcore album that didn’t have a single miss. Every track is a 9 or above. Even Reverie which is essentially the intermission is beautiful and a perfect Segway to the 2nd half of the album. I have 8 tracks tied for my favorite on an 11 track record 😅🤷♂️
Then you haven’t heard the metalcore bands before these. I’d put Parkways horizons and ABRs constellations over this all day. This is still great but doesn’t hold a candle to those other two albums
@@webechubbin I appreciate your opinion, When it comes to music opinions vary greatly. I'm a big ABR fan, and Constellations is a fantastic album, maybe the best in their catalog (Phantom Anthem may be tied for me), But as far as start to finish feeling and replay value I prefer Heavener. I still listen to it on a weekly basis.....I think that's how I judge my favorite albums of all time, replay (in whole) value, emotions it invokes, album feel (not just a collection of singles). Maybe the magic of this album will dull for me over time and it will move back in the pack somewhere, but it hasn't happened yet......
Realised this song is quite akin to Constance by Spiritbox - the clean softer verses, the ambient jarring heaviness in the chorus, the post-chorus breakdowny sections and the second post-chorus section heading into a filthy breakdown. fuckin love this album so much
These guys are prolly my favorite band right now ….the new album is perfect A+ ….to me they sound like two of my other favorite bands currents and like moths to flames …..which is prolly why I like them so much …..
This song really gave me make them suffer vibes for some reason, i think its the second guitar? Like their chill songs like ether, is that weird? Thornhill even more so, youre 100% right!
it's like shoegaze metal....kinda dreamy but fat and chuggy at the same time...i'm impressed!!! (something about it, in places, reminded me of My Vitriol)
I've heard this a few times, and I agree it's a pretty good song. Song of the year is a no for me, and album of the year is.. ridiculous. So far, if it's that for you, but it's March 🤦 In Flames, Pupil Slicer, Currents, and even Bury Tomorrow have better albums out (or soon to be, that I've heard already). This is a great metalcore album if that's the only genre you're listening to, but Northlane, Sleep Token, and Darko US have done more with the genre. This sounds like a cross between a good Thornhill song and a good Dreambound song. Nothing against Dreambound, but their mixes are often not that great and the sound quality on this album is pretty lacking. There's a lot of bias, but stuff like The Sun Sleeps sounded great when they came out and fell off my rotation pretty quickly. If I had to point to one thing.. the harsh vocals. 90% of the songs IA puts out, I absolutely despise the harsh vocals.
I still think the “echo” vocals on every single track of the album is too much. Brings down the album slightly in my opinion. Don’t mind it being used sparingly, but don’t need it as much as it’s used in the album.
Enjoyed this song but the mix really prevents me getting into this band/album. Saw them live with ERRA and preferred their live sound compared to the album
if anyone here hasn't heard the album it is absolutely a must listen
Album of the year so far
Yes
yes
@@heyimjoshkbye agreed, and I just found out about them last night
100% album of the year.

We did know that! Landon mentioned it to us when we last hung out! What a talented human right!?!

I brings me nothing but joy to see Johnny writhe in discomfort from that joke at the start. Well done, Nath!
Saw these guys a few weeks back supporting Silent Planet and Erra and fuck me they were so good, vocals were immaculate

The new album is sooooo good. The atmosphere throughout is just stunningly beautiful.
Definitely an AOTY contender for me, and current leader.
4:50 has me in tears so fucking quit johnny witted,
"keep trying" 🤗🤣
This chorus hooks harder than a sailor from 1786
The chorus after the breakdown especially when he does the highs 👌👌ooohweee
Hadn’t heard of this band before… but definitely doing a massive deep dive into their stuff! And got a bit of Thornhill vibe
Their new album "heavener" is a masterpiece, highly recommend listening to it , cheers !

vibed with it so much. unbelievable energy. keep up the content please 😍😍😍
Saw these guys with Erra, August burns Red, Norma Jean, and a few others…great live band
best track of 2023 so far hands down!!
Song's been on repeat for me. The album is solid. Thanks for the reaction, guys!

Very much like thornhill, this song reminds me of lily and the moon

Very beautiful and melodic song❤

That's literally the lineup for the tour they start in May! Currents, LMTF, Invent, & one other band I thinkk

Do false meridian next
2nd best song on the album. Without a Whisper is unbeatable!
Seems like maybe the song's audio is in Mono?
