You should probably check out their single “heavener” which they released a few months after the album. Also they worked with the vocalist of the plot in you for this album. Trey is the original drummer and now a guitarist but only in the studio because he’s drummer for fit for a king, Brody is their new main drummer
I hadn't heard of Invent Animate before last year, then I heard this album and instantly fell in love! You should definitely check out the band Currents, they released a new album in 2023, "The Death We Seek", which has a lot of similarity to Invent Animate with the mix of harsh and melodic vocals, heavy riffs, and just overall great sound!
Coming from the biggest Currents fan, I think the newest album is bit overproduced and for first introduction i'd recommend the album "The Way It Ends" from them.
Just started the video to get a taste before I go to bed. Your face is just so expressive!! It'll be really interesting to see your thoughts and how you feel after the show!
I really love how you actually listen to the music and digest it. Similar to how I do. I also love seeing more people learn about Invent Animate and share the same feelings as myself - this group is really something special. Producing unreal stuff ever since Everchanger
Love your reaction! And Invent Animate was all over my spotify wrapped last year. I love them🤎 You should def check out one of their music vid next to fully experience Marcus’s emotion in his singing. And tbh the production in their vids is top tier✨ "Heavener" or "Without a Whisper"
Marcus does all of the vocals since him joining the band for Greyview (which is another album I would love to see you react to!) and when they play live Caleb has taken over a few parts. He has a great voice as well. Marcus is a phenomenal vocalist and for me is my favorite of the two, with Ben English being the prior vocalist. I have met them all at their headliner VIP tour and they were hands down the nicest group of guys I have met. They signed everything everyone brought and I mean *everything*, I had brought all my vinyls and they got our posters as well. Felt like chatting with old friends. Can't wait for you to see them live! And I promise seeing Immolation of Night live will be a great time 🤘🏻 also this album has made me cry many times, I totally get it. The overarching theme of loss resonates with me greatly.
Thank you, it's long time ago I heard them the last time and without you I maybe would never get to know this album. This is just great music. Brutally emotional atmosphere! 15:35 - My favorite. The guitar tones are crazy but hit a trigger deep inside me
Wow, This Band is Tight! Love the versatility in their songs, and the HARD stops and tempo shifts are sooooo insane!!! I'm 'here for it'! 😂 As are you, I see! Awesome reaction!!! Love seeing your clear enthusiasm. Thanks again! I'm excited for this show for u!
hey i’m the other guitar player (not the one you saw at the show) i loved watching your review! it was awesome to see you connect with this album, i was laughing at some of your expressions cause they’re exactly what we hoped for when we released these songs lol. i’ve never heard anyone make an alexisonfire comparison with us but i LOVE that band and that feels like a big compliment. hope you had a good time at the show, cheers
Ahhh this is so kind thank you so much for watching! I’m actually heading to the show tonight so I’m super stoked to see all of these bands play. So you won’t be at the show tonight?!
this is amazing how you guys pop in to support reactors. not only is your music soul-healing but you guys are genuinely great dudes. im blessed to be alive in the time this music exists lol. keep up the great work. loving the videos!
Man hearing Shade Astray, Reverie, Elysium, and Heavener would be a religious experience for me, I hope you loved it, everyone I know that has seen them said they're amazing.
I have seen so many reactions to this album, I have even made one! and yours is my favorite :) I would love you to check out Greyview (their 2020 album) it is a lot more technical than this one but it is beautiful as well, Marcus did this album as well as Greyview, their first two albums were with Ben on vocals, those are incredible as well but a lot heavier, I hope you can see Invent Animate when they headline sometime in the future it was the best show I have ever been to, hope you check out their discography!!!
I recently got into this band, and this album is excellent. I haven't gone through their backlog, but I really like this album! _Without a Whisper_ is *f a n t a s t i c* I find myself humming it all the time. This vocalist just has the kind of sound that pierces me, and really reaches out to pull me in. You know? Like even when you don't necessarily connect with the lyrics (or just aren't familiar enough with a song yet), the _voice_ pulls you in. Plus, obviously, the musicianship and compositions are excellent as well! All that said, I wish the vocals were a little more prominent in the mix, they're so nice. OMG you just mentioned The Used! They are _exactly_ where my love for this vocal sound started (I think!)! lmao love that. I also didn't realize you had such a nice spread of experience in and around this genre. Sweet. Edit: I wrote (and have been adding to!) this comment while listening to your playthrough, and I love that you're hitting some of the same insights I feel about it too❤🔥 26:55 You mention drumming and singing, and I immediately thought of the band *Brutus* - Are you familiar? They're a Belgian trio with bit of a post-hardcore sound with some punk and punk-adjacent influence - Most importantly for me, they have a very "live" sound, IMO, which I adore. They're not "heavy", but their PASSION has weight. You feel _that_ kind of heavy in their music. Drummer is the vocalist, and she's fucking RAW. Brutus is a pretty cool trio and they love and support the hell out of each other. I'd love to see them live sometime. ((consider checking out _"War", "Liar",_ and _"Victoria"_ by *Brutus!* ))
So happy to see invent getting the success they’ve deserved for so long this album really blew them up, but their previous album Greyview is just as much a masterpiece. Give it a listen if you have time
Not sure if you have ever heard of them, but their is a band called currents, absolutely amazing. They are like Invent animate, but heavier. You should give them a try.
You should check out loathes discography in order 1. Prepare Consume Proceed EP 2. The Cold Sun Album 3. This Is As One Split EP 4. I Let It In and It Took Everything Album 5. The Things They Believe (Instrumental ambient album so I wouldn’t do a reaction but check it out if you want) 6. Dimorphous Display Single Also all albums and EPs have flow as one and transition into each song
Cherry on top they release a special song after this album actually called heavener …..kinda like a thank you to the fans …..best album I’ve ever heard and most people’s metalcore album of the year …..was easily mine ……but yeah they will deff do without a whisper …..I’ve seen them a few times ……
Great video! Love that you pay attention to the lyrics as well. I would highly recommend checking out Silent Planet if you have the time. Lyrically unmatched in my opinion. Visible Unseen, Trilogy, Panic Room, Understanding Love As Loss, Native Blood(Redux), Collider. Any of these. Can’t go wrong!
Saw them while they were doing their heavener tour back in October after barely hearing the heavener album, absolutely amazing. The members are just so casual and humble guys, it was nice talking to them during the Q&A as well. Glad you’ve got to listen to them.
Invent Animate quickly became my favourite band, this album is such a breath of fresh air in the genre. Also, since you seem to enjoy the more melodic stuff, you should probably check out The Dark Pool by Thornhill if you haven't heard of them yet
@@ashlenamusic Yeah, this might be the most incredible album i've ever heard in my entire life. Everything about it is just perfect for me and i think i was searching for this particular type of music for my whole life, it's a shame that many people consider this album generic while it is objectively so genre-defining that it basically proves that metalcore and metal in general are not even close to dying. marcus really cleaned up his live vocals, they sound ridiculously good live. Marcus is now at the very top in the game imo, he just sounds so good
I wish I could unhear this album so I could experience it again for the first time 🤤
That’s why I love reacting I can just go back and watch my videos 🥰
