He said his friend (Geoff Rickly from the band "Thursday"), was inspired by a quote from William S. Borroughs about there being "Wars all the time" ("This is a war universe. War all the time. That is its nature."). Thursday named one of their albums after this quote. On their album "War All The Time" is a song called "For the Workforce, Drowning", which talks about how life can be a mundane cycle which just keeps repeating. The lyrics are: "Just keep making copies, Of copies, Of copies, When will it end?" Gerard said: "And that's what wars are: we keep making copies of the people making copies of the war. And that is why I'm being so f*****g mean to this printer-copier, who I call Stuart." So it was a metaphor for breaking the endless cycle war, for the world to stop creating copies of dictators and oppressors.
