Hey Johnny you mentioned in your video about trying to hang onto the cases during case prep. I wear nitrile gloves they give me the grip I need to hang onto things. Also it helps to keep your hands clean as well. Not I'm against getting my hands dirty but they do.
Have you ever had one of those days? It's all good, at least it isn't brain surgery! Love your videos, Mr. Johnny, never a dull moment!! Keep em coming! Thanks
I actually broke my Lee press using that stupid swaging die. The cast aluminum cam arm part between the press ram and the handle broke on me. I HATE that die!!
Old video, I know. But I'm going back and watching all your old videos and can't help but thinking on this one, could you chuck up the actual cutting portion in the drill and slip the cases over it by hand? Especially if it's sharp enough not to be torquing things too much. Seems like a lot of time could be saved by eliminating the shell holder all together. Is this something you tried at some point? Thinking it could possibly be faster than my Frankford Arsenal case prep center that just seems to spin way too slow, for bulk .223 brass prep anyway.
How do you check after sizing if the brass will chamber? Or can that only be checked with the finish product? I’d hate to size all my brass only to find out they won’t work. (I’m a noob to reloading sorry for the dumb question)
Dude cleaning for 3 hours. Do mine for an hour and their fine. Probably the same amount of soap and citric acid plus the SS pins. Then I dry them for half an hour and I'm good. Good video though and plenty of knowledge.
charles willenburg I have the trimmer but need to buy the dies. Looked around this week and didn't find any. Going to order some from Midway this week, because I'd like to test it for my next video series.
@@JohnnysReloadingBench i would recommend the "worlds greatest trimmer". Got it on amazon for like 65$. Set the depth to 1.75 and just start ripping through a huge batch. I trimmed a 5 gallon bucket of 556 in like 4 hours
I have a Rebel 17 got it from StainlessTumblingMedia.com and thats the Magic in the bag. Have no trouble on 223 brass, Everyone says, I just put soap in the tumbler with no SS pins. I think WHY NOT my SS pins never get caught in the primer pocket.Guess That the STM pins and not Frankford Arsenal not judging just saying everyone that has that tumbler says the same thing.. Guess you all should try STM.com pins there apparently better the the Frankford Arsenal they ALWAY'S get the primer pocket's clean and never get stuck in em...Also you CAN LEAVE THEM WET.....
I know this an older video but I tried the lee and tossed it to the side for the world's finest trimmer 2. The problem with the lee is it is based off the flash hole, if the flash holes are not uniform and the webbing thickness are different from manufacturers, you oal trim length will vary greatly. I would choose the WFT2 just trims based off the neck or get the Giraud tri-way which trims, deburred and chamfer in one step.
I've been reloading for years and still learn tons from your videos. Thanks for doing these.
lol 13.30 "Fuck me" that made me bust out laughing. I'm a new subscriber and reloader, and am enjoying your videos!

I’ve been eyeing these 556/223 videos Brother. No time better to hone my skills on this caliber than the present time. Thanks for sharing.
Chico,
Thank you!
Me too! Tdoc2651- Never a dull moment!
You may want to look at the Dillon Super Swage 600 -- it's excellent for large qty of case prep.
RCBS tri-way cutter with a power drill adapter for your trimmer really makes this all really fast. The dillon super swage helps too.
That lemashine is amazing stay away from that premade expensive stuff thank you johnny
Man, these old videos are painful to watch. Time consuming and fingers screaming eff you! Thank god for more modern tech brass prep!!!
Love watching these old videos man. Good stuff. I really hope youtube doesn't go all commie on ya!
Same thing happened to me with that trim tool1.760. I ran the point across a file till it was 1.50 on the trim. Worked perfect after that.
Giraud tri-way trimmer is a beautiful thing.
That swedger looks like a PITA no matter what press. The cutter seems much better.
“And it starts trimming......and fuck me” was not prepared for that
You seriously need a power trimmer, Dillon makes a great one. Also, I found cutting the crimp out rather than swaging works best.
put the brass on the rod in the swager die and bring the plug up to it.
More I watch more I like. Iam Pretty Sure I Can Reload if I Keep Watching. 1 More From Ohio.

I think I'd do the chamfer and debur with the drill turning as well to save my wrist .
Do you tumble again after sizing to remove the lube?
Give Redding Imperial Wax a try, great lube and hard to over do it.
Definitely my favorite lube.

Old comment I know, but no you need the shell holder as a stop it what sets the length

of the no good brass you get do you toss them in the trash or do you fill a can and sell it to a scrap yard?

Would you reccommend small base die for ar-15 223 wylde chamber?
Have you tried the lee quick trim?

Almost pissed my pants 13:25
do you wipe off the case lube
Put cutter in drill press bro and just hold the shell holder
Why no use RCBS Trim-Pro?
Try a dillion 600 swedger

DILLOIN SUPER SWAGER 600 IS THE BEST!!!
I've swaged thousands of rounds with that die lol it sucks but all I had
GREAT VIDEOS DUDE,,,YOU REMIND ME OF ME. I'M ALL,,,WHAT THE *^/¥ AND @%,,,,LO L
I have that same impression.
You keep saying 1.752 is perfect but you just looked it up in the book and should be 1.760
Sometimes when I say "perfect" I actually mean "close enough".
1.760 is max length. Almost everything under that is fine/within tolerance and that means "perfect"
especially when doing this kind of operation.
Also, if ya go a bit under the 1.76" mark, you will not have to re-trim for length next time. Just dont go too short.

Would you rather. A. Trim brass or B. Watch paint dry.
B. I would rather watch paint dry
