Kinda feel bad for the Dust Dragon: It was clearly already injured before fighting you, and it was literally tearing itself apart trying to kill you. I can't help but admire its devotion to trying to stop you.
I half expected to fight another one, but this time uninjured as a boss later in the game (considering they were pretty much all over the intro). Bit dissapointing...
Is it odd that i believed that the dust dragon that was fought was being made? Think about it: if it was dying, its body wouldnt have the strength to create its minions and use its own ribs to attack. Maybe im thinking about it too much about it though.
@@schizophrenicsnowman3226 This dust dragon was a survivor of a clan of dragons that actively participated in the dust world campaign but it's now Old Decaying and Unable to move it's chest has rotted away it can attack by using it's exposed rib bones breathing fire or releasing reptilians from it's body.
I kinda like this game for having Fist of the North Star references. The 3rd boss got the face of Raoh's and even Raiga and Fuga appear in 8th stage but with the recoloring
Ah, back in the days when a localization team could get away with COMPLETELY phoning in the translation and voice-acting, and no one would bat an eye...
that moment when you realize the whodin and laidin are actually fuujin and raijin from hokuto no ken and the building behind them is fortress cassandra from hokuto no ken
This game it got an air of darkness is awesome ! I will never forget the first time I saw the brand new box in the front window of a game shop back in early 90s
@@jalexgonzalez76 actually S.C.A.T. (known as Final Mission outside the US) was a copy of this one! S.C.A.T. came out a year and a half after Forgotten Worlds, lacking the rotary shooting button and replacing it with positionable satellites.
We had this game Capcom collection that we played on our PS3 backwards compatible PS1 PS2 in it and played a lot of son son, street fighter 2, mercs, ghosts goblins, and forgotten worlds a good bit, Then a while back since 2022 our ps3 started wearing out quit reading discs of all sorts tried repairing it and no luck just wouldn't play read discs anymore! Now we're focused on a snes N64 that we have for a while and soon will get a NES soon as I wish they made forgotten worlds for SNES as well!
Pretty weird boss set. First boss: Alien psychic sphincter. Second boss: Gaping Dragon's more relaxed zombie forefather. Third boss: Screaming giant armour dude. Fourth boss: Horus. On a boat. Fifth boss: Sphinx and King Tut's flying mask and weird robot marble snake. Sixth boss: Vampire King Tut. Seventh boss: Mr snowflake Eight boss: Cho Aniki cosplayers. Last boss: Guy on a throne firing piranha plants. Oh wait he flies now and had six arms and a six pack face? Thanks, this was a fun ride.
All the more impressive that you no-hitted these bosses with the worst weapon possible (the Napalm Bomb tears through the Dustdragon in seconds, and the Burner is more effective than the Laser on the God of War - in fact, the Napalm Bomb works wonders on most bosses, it's just terrible at clearing out groups of enemies during the stages), bad controller settings (it looks like you have the character's rotation to be painfully slow, rather than near-instantaneous like it should be), and/or suboptimal strategy (Meskitt's Vessel can be beaten easily by pressing up against the gate with your satellite on the other side, so the gate doesn't even need to open for you to hit him, and most of his attacks can't hit you in that position, either; the Twin Gods can be beaten faster if you just focus on one of them, rather than switching targets every time they switch positions; and for the God of War, if you'd destroyed both shoulders instead of just one, he wouldn't have been able to keep restoring his mask) It does make it a little frustrating to watch, though.
This feels like they had assets of several cancelled games and asked, "How can I salvage these messes?" It feels real incoherent thematically is what I'm getting at.
*Shirtless man levitates around shooting his rifle into a giant, flaming anus* "Toji, what did I tell you last time about sexual innuendos in our games!?"
this game feels like it's about some buff floating dudebro who keeps invading all sorts of Forgotten Worlds and attacking mythical creatures that did nothing to deserve that, like, they were just chilling

Boss 1 is called Magnetic Paramecium, Boss 3 is God of War, Boss 4 is Rah.
Please, Sonic After The Sequel DX
I wonder what would happen if Moses had a gun like that. There’d be no need for him to use a silly little rod 😂
just curious how come you never turn the gun throught the whole game? except like once

Yeah, it feels more like a euthanization than a fight
Wish the game would've just let us pass the half injured dragon!

That poor Dragon has seen better days. 😂
Ah, back in the days when a localization team could get away with COMPLETELY phoning in the translation and voice-acting, and no one would bat an eye...
Now peace is retverning to this town again.
Dust Dragon one of the greatest bosses of all time
that moment when you realize the whodin and laidin are actually fuujin and raijin from hokuto no ken and the building behind them is fortress cassandra from hokuto no ken
What... WHAT IS DUKE DOING IN HERE!!!
Balls of steel
duke had to go to another planet to stop the aliens
This game it got an air of darkness is awesome ! I will never forget the first time I saw the brand new box in the front window of a game shop back in early 90s
Contra + Gradius
Lol that was my first thought
tbh i thought it was contra+space harrier
Don't forget that this game has egyptian mythology vibes to it, I think i'm going back to history class again.
It looks more like a copy of SCAT

Played this game on the PS2 in the capcom classics collection and it really freaked me out as a kid
I played the same game for the original Xbox when I was like 7 and it did the same lol
Oh god, the character is legend or something. He clearly killed god of war, Sun God Ra and a Dragon
I remember this video games. I played since my childhood on ps2. Good Memories.
SAME

In Japan Version: Lost Worlds
US Version: Forgotten Worlds
Poor Dust Dragon, it's already on dying state, and you came just to finish it of
Also, Whodin and Laidin reminds me of Richardo Milos
LOL, i think they're looks like biden

Well, they got THAT guy for sure.
This game is so dark. They don't make games like this anymore. Sigh.
Except like... literally every horror game that isn't Luigi's Mansion?
Wish they released forgotten worlds on SNES as well! Miss having Capcom collection PS2 on our ps3 that we used to have long ago!

Zarbon: *OOOOOOOOH!*
War God looks a lot like Raoh from Hokuto no Ken.
My neighbors lawnmower in the morning: 3:47
Is it me or did capcom base Whodin and Laidin off of Raiga and Fuga from fists of the north star?
Yeah, it's definitely them.
Theyre all based on mythology. Fujin and Raijin are Japanese gods of weather. Fujin being wind and Raijin being thunder.
Even that war god looks somewhat like Raoh
Cool video. Thank you very MACH for uploading it.
Wish this game was also released in SNES!
Glad they made a capcom game collection that I used to have miss so much!

5:43 - Top left at the boat, dat loose pixel!
Thank you very mach for uploading this
10:40 Raiga and Fuga from Hokuto no Ken
That and i swear that the 3rd boss has to be Ken-Oh
There should be inspirations for bosses in Cupbead based on these bosses.
Boss 8 - Raiga and Fuga from hokuto no ken

Wow you get to fight Ra the Egyptian sun god!
This was one of my favorites
Haha. I love it. It’s Contra... but in Space!
