He originally wasnt well received and the 2003 movie didn't do well. But his show was basically written to perfection so now he's one of the most beloved characters.
Good video but I definitely think DD was a decently well known character before the show. If Spider-Man, Superman and Wonder Woman were S tier DD would be A tier imo in terms of popularity. I mean he was one of the first characters to get a solo movie in Marvel and his marvel knights run was incredibly popular.
I wouldn’t say it was ignored, you just couldn’t see his senses from his perspective, but he clearly uses his hearing, smell, and even echolocation through every season. You just don’t see the color grade of echolocation like they do in the comics. Now that the new show has a bigger budget I think we’ll see his senses play out more.
While this video is a step in the right direction, the entire thing is nearly recap. So much time to explain a sequence of events. Not enough on what these characters and stories mean to you. Extremely disappointed.

very true at the time i wasnt well versed in his history but he def wasnt as well known as the others you mentioned (his marvel knights run is fye)
