Victorinox.. the only reason I don't bite my fingernails anymore lol
There's a reason they're a staple in so many EDCs. 🤘
Haha... I liked that!!!
Literally same. Had that problem for my whole life until my mother got me a climber from her vacation and since it has the scissors I started to instead of picking on my fingers, always gently cut the left over skin and now my fingers look like they’ve never been picked. It’s insane
Because of your video, I went and customized a brass scaled Pioneer X to add to my EDC. I really enjoy your videos and one day in the not too far future I plan on submitting my EDC to your channel. Continue the great work.
How can you be so enthusiastic over a pry bar made of soft copper? Was the iron age not an improvement over the bronze age? To pay 30$ for such an impractical tool makes me say, too much money not enough sense... Copper scales on a sak, ok that works.
Gives you a false sense of masculinity, value and authenticity my friend.
Exactly what I was thinking. 30 dollars for something you admitted that you only use to hold and play with? Get a fidget spinner nerd! Lol
How to pay more for a swiss army knife. Lol
Hardened copper works pretty well.
@@Joshua-hz3cl for what? It's basically a flat piece of metal with a key ring? What job requires such a tiny prybar? I just dont see a justification that's the price tag?
Ten trillion EDC and knife review videos on youtube, I'm pretty sure this is the only one where someone smells the knife (6:09 mark). Thumbs up!
Copper with the stonewash looks perfect! Nice video!
Those copper scales are very nice! They're tumbled so they won't scratch as easy and they'll form a patina in no time.
The copper one is truly a piece of art. Very happy with it so far. Thanks John.
Seems like he has shut his whole cite down at this point so this video is kinda useless.....
Beautiful customs! My pioneer x is always with me. I use the awl for tons of different things. It will drill a hole in almost anything (except metal). I've even used it to unlock a cabinet that I didn't have a key for. It's much better than the standard t style awls.
Taylor Martin @BestDamnEDC was my John Smith. Thanks for introducing me to the world of EDC! I knew I liked to fill my pockets with neat and useful things that made my day to day life easier. I did not know about the amazing community of fellow EDC advocates. Keep posting, and keep carrying!
You can use the can opener as a (low torque) philips driver.
A brass swiss army knife would be amazing, however I rarely use such knives on a day to day basis, and though I use a box cutter frequently at work paying for a TPT would be spendy and if I consider how thick my gloves are a bit unwieldy for more practical use. I love these EDC videos but if I can't justify spending cash to solve a problem then things that don't but are super neat will have to wait until some Christmas in the unknown future.
I can’t wait for him to start taking orders again. I want one.
I have two from SAKMODDER. (I recall). Expensive, mine both have pliers, and a strange assortment of tools. Love these bad boys, about $175 each.
I like the copper and stone washed but my wallet ran off and hid
lol Sometimes having an evasive wallet is a good thing.
To spend that much on a man-toy is weird. #livewithwhatyougot #swissarmy #perhapstakeyour #wife or #girlfriend #outforanicedinner or towards a new gun. Oooh Yeah!
Jeremiah 29:11
@@ruready4adventure743 or you don't get a gf and just get the knife lol
@@badboybootz8 I agree with this logic 💯
just buy the blades from aliexpress they are really cheap
Awsome episode as usual. Oh how nice is the copper with stone wash...'one day it will be mine'
Just came across your channel, and it’s awesome! What to purchase first???
The TI with stone wash tools looks amazing thanks for the introduction.
Appreciate it brother!
That's the one I've been carrying most solely because it fits in the Proper slip so well. I honestly can't decide between the two, though!
Beautiful work on those knives! Any possibility of a discount code for us channel members? I noticed there is a discount code field in the Brasswerx checkout procedure.
awesome stuff!
Man those scales look good on that Swiss Army knife. Makes it look more rugged and tactical and higher quality. Sure I have a benchmade griptilian but everybody needs a good multi tool knife.
Great high contrast macro photography on his Insta. Thanks for the intro.
Nice! Like the brass and copper!
Great video like the knives look bad ass
Great video, John definitely deserves a shout-out!
Next time you have one of your BWSAKs in hand check the inside of the liner. You mentioned his logo isn't on the knife, but I believe it should be stamped and s/n on the inside.
Joe! The brain behind the SAK Lifter! Hope you're doing well man. Yes, all SAKs are stamped with their serial number on the inside of both scales.
Well, would you look at that. I didn't even look that closely or notice that it was serialized. Now I'm hanging on to both of these and will sell them at auction when John gets his big break. 😂
Best Damn EDC Just another nice little touch that adds to the finish out IMO!
You have a good hair style! This suits you more than the cap 😁
What are some of your suggestions for multi tools with blades kind of like box cutter multi tools for under $100? I like a compact size. Lol
The awl is awesome! Just twist and you can get a hole like a drill.
These are amazing!! Thank you for sharing, will visit his instagram for sure.
Where can you order these in 2020 the links say sold out
You don't use the can opener, Taylor?! That's the one tool I have genuinely worn out on several SAKs... it's an excellent screwdriver, scraper, and the can edge is an excellent box cutter for slicing tape or scoring leather. The customs are nice, but I don't even have a proper ALOX yet... really hoping to get the Pioneer X to replace carrying my Tinker and Super Tinker that I go back and forth on. The scissors are SUPERB on Victorinox tools, and for me they are nearly impossible to give up for more than a couple days.
I like copper, but the titanium is what I'm walking away with.
Excellent video as always, and happy to see you supporting a small, private maker with excellent products. Keep it up man! 💥😎
Those are beautiful pieces of art might have to look into those when I got a little extra play money. Got my eye on the spyderco cleaver lil more I would like to spend but oh so pretty haha
I have always had a weak spot for cleavers. I love them. It's just something about that blade shape that draws me to them. Enjoy it brother!
You and everyone else! Pocket cleavers are the bomb.
I love that I’m not the only person with Vienna sausages for fingers!
lol
I like it the way it looks before
I have a brasswerx sak and it's the greatest tool I have!
Hey Jack! What's up man? So glad to hear that you're still enjoying your Farmer!
isn't brass too soft to use as a pry bar?
Well, there was a good reason why the bronze age was displaced by the iron age.
@@9gello yeah, availability
masterblokit55 you are completely wrong. iron, then steel, are better metals for tools and weapons than bronze. all societies that used bronze moved, it is called technology advancement
@@mackjones7688 Certainly. There's gold in the very phone I'm using right now to reply to u. I know that cause I'm studying computer science and I program chips with arduino and stuff
I actually hate how gold is wasted with ornamental purposes and status symbol, such a petty and worthless use, when it's so useful for conductivity of electrical currents
However a pry bar is a tool that doesn't make use of any of the useful properties you mentioned. A pry bar made from a soft metal or a weak/soft alloy of steel will bend, so more brittle but strong metals are better (not so brittle that they will break naturally, like some porous alloys of iron)
Robert lessard custom saks are the best money can buy. His work is incredible!
Completely agree. I've had mine from him for nearly 6 years and it's fantastic.
I'm trying to Find scales for my cybertool and swiss champ. I have the tools to do it myself confidently but can't for the life of me find any custom scales like these.
I have a Victorinox Tinkerer that has sentimental value but some of the tools are worn out and the plastic scales do not look great. I wonder if John allows people to send in knives for customization.
oof, the awl is a required tool for me on my multi tool. (i edc a leatherman surge)
I like minimalist knives like the VAK Pen Knife.
When is he going to open his store again?
Great video
Can you decipher all the different numbered models he sells?
Those Swiss Army Knives are so cool
Amazing videos keep up the great work👍👍 I just joined your website Your website looks awesome
Thank you! It's still a WIP, but I at least made it pretty to start with. lol
Mabby it's just because I'm new to this channel but could you please do a video on people's edc guns I dont know it u carry or own guns but I would love to see a video about that if you don't like guns or are just don't own them I would love to see a video of your opinion on them whatever it may be.
There are tons of guns included in the EDC Weekly. I don't personally carry or own any guns right now, but I'm strongly considering getting my CCW.
Very slick
Great video! Quick question: This may be a dumb question, but what do you use a small pry bar like that for? Any answer is appreciated!
JamesKnechtel nails, screws, staples, etc saves ur knife blade is the idea
Some people use them for screwdrivers, scraping like removing stickers or labels, opening boxes, cleaning your fingernails ... they can be pretty versatile. Other people just use them to add a little color or texture to their photos.
Ive used mine (actually a 1/4"w x5L cold chisel) when adding a tonneau cover to my sons truck, opening a poptop with gloves on, prying open a stuck cabinet, changing a bike tube..
@@docink6175 That's a good one ... opening a drink with gloves on. Perfect example.
Don't forget fidgeting. Since fidget spinners aren't cool anymore, we need something manly to tinker with while we should be working or something. lol
You know the tin opener also is a Phillips screwdriver?
Man I know I'm late to the party but that Pioneer x is on Point Sir..
Very Nice Sir!!!
You could just use 2 locking clamps to put it back together.
Victorinox is still #1. I have them from 35 years ago and still work, still sharp etc.
Mass production of course, not handmade stuff.
Isnt Brass wayy to soft for an actual prybar??
Copper everyday all day!!!!!
When was the last time, if ever, you made a copper themed edc. And I mean like 75% of the stuff is copper. If you uave, shoot me the link. Keep up the good work, loving the vids
I use my awl for leather work.
When is he going to be back can you contact him?
The copper looks great but I’m loving the titanium
I also have brass. :) You cant go wrong with either of them but I agree, that Ti is very sleek and classy.
Hair on point today
I'm trying to get back into the habit of styling my hair and not wearing a hat every day. lol Hard habit to kick.
I can’t find these anywhere
His website is completely empty of product. Is the feller still around?
That copper sak tho!
There's just something about copper....
Those are some beefy ones. Either one would be great, you really cant go wrong. The Topo version will add even another level of awesome if that is possible. I might have to break the piggy bank and count those pennies.
Looks like the website is shut down. no products except candles. bummer.
He does not make customs anymore. Anyone knows who makes custom SAKs atm? Most of their books are closed.
Does he still do these customs?
"Are these the best swiss army knives?"
Well no, one of them is just a pry bar
none of them are swiss
Just the skeleton
3:57
Bro... what the hell?
But I love copper so... thanks!!
Taylor why costom we got Swiss Army knives
Did he stopped selling?
Im going to go broke watching your channel !
With all the cool stuff Taylor shows us, I completely agree.
Sorry not sorry! 😂
The guy that made these neeeeeds to do Leatherman stuff
Copper all the way. Would love to get one, but $200+ is waaaay out of my price range.
I am fron Brasil,Very good and cool your vídeo by
Hey dude I see that you have Amazon affiliate links, I would love to support the channel by using them is there any way to get more than just a the .com link like a canadian link would be sweet as well, not sure if it posable but just throwing it out there
I need to set up the CA account. I should have before now. I will try to get that squared away in the next few days. Thanks for reminding me!
@@BestDamnEDC that's amazing thanks man, I'll keep an eye out for them
I got a few from him. Pretty decent
Nice
Hi. Glad I’m not a day late.
Correction: fisher offers a full copper bullet
www.spacepen.com/SPS-400CZN-PamMelroy.aspx
Holy crap that price, though …
I’m sure the price has more to do with the signature.
*Uh...in what manner are the knives shown made by 'Victorinox?'* (the 'header' is really misrepresenting what is shown)
These are stock Victorinox manufactured knives that are then heavily modded.
Thanks for stating the 'absurdly obvious!' (the entire 'Posting' is merely a 'cover to entice' viewers to buyother products of dubious worth...this is called 'Bait & Switch')
Titanium anytime man
Copper all the things!!
What's your favorite Victorinox?
insta...''what?'' Thats alot of beer drinkin'. prying, what?? ya never ate out of a can? ya' need to get out more. REALLY SWEET KNIVES! Thanks.
If he could do a one handed trekker, I'd be sending mine out to be refurbished
Copper Pioneer X with combotool and opening layer removed!!!!!
I can't decide if this is a serious video or some kind of joke
You can't just buy the scales?
Is he still in business?
Copper is the way to go!!
That patina though ... 😍
Hey Brass people.
I love the weight and look of brass and copper but I HATE the smell of metal you get of coins and metal zippers.
Anyway round this?
Can't be the " best Swiss Army Knives" if they don't have TWEEZERS.
Copper for sure
Can you say on the ball?! First comment 😅🙌
Sold!
Appreciate it! Please let me know if you have any questions.
875fps Thank you!
So for the same price as a Victorinox Farmer you can get a bottle opener. OK.
COPPER! gotta disagree with you... need the can opener, the caplifter is superfluous... everything has one... also hate the main blade... but i digress...custom sak is in my future!
I've actually made a few without the main blade or the awl. It's not very common but in all honestly, that little electrician blade is very capable of handing large tasks. Scissors on one layer and the can opener and eblade on the other is all you need. Thin 2-layer design that's very capable.
875fps how much would a copper sak specific to the one you just described cost?? I think I’m gonna have to get one of these!
@@erinjoy8338 Thanks for the interest! They start at $175 and we can either go with an Electrician and add $10 for scissors, or start with a Pioneer X and add the eblade for $10, and then remove the blade layer. I'll actually give you $10 for the blade layer since I can reuse it (unlike the can opener which I can't really reuse). If you don't want your tools stonewashed it will stay $175, or add $30 for stonewashing. Then there are a few other addons like brass liners (+$10) or a pocket clip (+$10).
875fps thank you so much! I will consider exactly what I want and be in touch, cheers!
Sorry pal, but speaking 'bout the Swiss Army Knife... THERE IS ONLY ONE to speak of, more precisely at minute 3:14 or better at 6:44 !!! The others are "maybe nice" but nothing to share with Swiss Army !
I still having mine, the same you shoved (alu) and after 50 years, I'm now 70 y o, still working as new. Bye...👋 😊 💪😁
There like dirt cheap 😁
Copper atw!
