    In raw feeding you have to have a balance of meat to bone otherwise your dog will have diarrhea. You also shouldn't feed weight bearing bones to your dog.

    • @The_Woof_Pack
      @The_Woof_Pack 3 года назад +5

      You should be feeding 10% raw meaty bone you also should be feeding 10% secreting organs. Liver should be the primary organ but you need another organ such as kidney. Also keep in mind that heart and gizzards are muscle meats.

  • @jdx3268
    @jdx3268 3 года назад +7

    Way too much liver, and no second secreting organ. Feeding raw needs to be done properly. Your dogs will develop vitamin A toxicity if you continue feeding that much liver with no other organ.

    there's a reason why your only spending $100 for meat.. your missing a lot in this diet. please do more research. I've studied k9 nutrition and have been feeding raw for 15yrs! please do not feed this way! that meal is missing a ton of nutrional requirements! feeding raw wrong can be very damaging long term. if you feed raw it must be balanced! reed NRC guidelines!

      Hi! Do you have any recommendations? I switched my dog over from kibble to cooked food/veggies and now trying to switch to raw. I want to make sure his food gives him all the nutrients he needs and there are so many different opinions on what is healthy!

      I agree. Missing ALOT!!! I spend at least $120 a month on just 1 gsd. Ur doing more harm by consistently being deficient in certain nutrients. Better off feeding kibble.

    I buy from a company that grinds up the right proportions of meat, bone, organs, etc. N I get it in rolls. I hate touching meat! so its less interaction with the raw meat. I don't have to calculate much and it's about 7$ a day for his foods cuz I add the fruits n veggies plus chia seeds n other superfoods. The raw diet has improved his well being a lot. Thanks for sharing how you do it! I just bought a freezer to prep more ahead of time n store it.

    I feed mine frozen so they have to take their time eating it meaning they fully chew their food and it exercises their jaw, cleans their teeth and entertains their mind.

      @@AlphaAussies I have a few that do that too, especially if they're in sight of each other. But it's really not good for their digestion. If I'm really busy feeding raw helps too because I can crate them and they can take their time eating while I focus on what I need to get done. Then I wash out the bottom of the crates.

    to much liver is really bad.. liver should never exceed 5% of the total organ %.. for example if your feeding 15% organ meats a day liver should only consist of 5% and other secreting organs should make up the other 10%. you always need at least 2 secreting organs for every meal..just liver is not enough.

    FYI if you freeze the organ meats before cutting them up it’s much easier. Otherwise liver is super slimy and hard to grasp and chop into bite sizes. If you can’t find secreting and non secreting organ meats like: spleen, heart, brain, etc. like myself try dried organ meets in supplement form or basically powdered, ground down form. But of course if you can find kidney, liver and heart that’s a great start but definitely try and supplement with one like I found “Guts & Glory” is about $30 per container with scoop. Has directions on how much per body weight of dog and offers a subscription plan with 15% off so about $25.00. Others easily cost $40+

      On one end people feed purina and iams, on the other there’s people who transition to raw and try to raise a healthier dog. Nothing bugs me more than experienced raw feeders critiquing good dog owners because they aren’t doing a perfect job in their eyes. Good on her for trying and putting the effort into learning and raising a healthy dog I’m sure she will learn more as the journey continues, as we all most likely did👏🏽

    • @rockinmermaid101
      @rockinmermaid101 3 года назад +3

      @@Kellly828 just because you feed fresh and transition to raw over kibble doesn't excuse the fact that it should be balanced. Vitamin A toxicity is real. This "throw it all in a bowl and it's good because it's fresh" mentality gives raw feeders a bad name. If you do choose raw, people should see out guidance from nutritionists or pick up some reading material on the subject. Dog nutrition is NOT the same as human nutrition.

    I’m dying here for your Aussie babies! I had my male/standard with tri colored red hair, Aussie named Granger. Unfortunately he developed some kind of sick, awful autoimmune disease (which led me onto raw feeding) that took him out early but he’s one of the best dogs I was fortunate to have. I do have my mini Aussie Tula. She’s the standard tri color, she’s in my pic, you can barely see her but just the most phenomenal dogs! I also have my newest member Sawyer and he’s half husky/Aussie. He’s an odd mix but beautiful non the less. Definitely more husky than Aussie. Anyways good luck, love that I found your channel and it’s awesome to see phenomenal Aussie parents caring the for their dogs in the way we all should strive for.

How do you package that in the food prep process? Are those in separate containers? Do you also make treats for the puppers? Your dogs are beautiful also. =)

    • @hanna100001
      @hanna100001 2 года назад +1

      Far from true. Animals in the wild actually want to eat the vital organs first especially liver because of the same reason we feed liver to our dogs - it is packed with nutrient. That’s how they survive in the wild by using every nutrients from they’re prey. Even fur provided healthy gut + source of fibre, it’s even a healthy mental stimulation for them to play with. Do your research
