    I’ve watched this upload 3 times now I’m now convinced this scooter could well be a superb winter ride for me. I own at present a Honda VFR1200x and it’s my pride and joy and my long distance summer ride, but I wouldn’t under no circumstances take it out on salt laden roads during the winter months, I know bikes can be washed and cleaned but I just couldn’t ride it in winter and get it covered in road salt. I need to find a dealer with a SH350i demonstrator and get a test ride.
    Thanks for this upload Gary 👍🏻

      I'm glad my video has helped your decision. It will definitely compliment your VFR, which is a lovely bike. I got my SH in January and used it constantly all winter with no ill effects. The downpipe on the exhaust is stainless steel and does not rot and that is the thing to rust badly on scooters. I did however cover the bike in ACF50 anti-corrosion spray. I also fitted fork gaiters to the front of the bike (another rust prone area). Good luck with your scooter when you get it. It is one of the most fun things I have ridden due to the acceleration which is addictive.

    Yep, I got one of these and agree with everything you say... including the on/off throttle response at low speeds. I find myself holding a little bit of rear brake on when doing tight, slow manoeuvres.

    Thank you for your review Gary. I liked it so much, I bought one! Also taking your advice and having handguards fitted by dealer, and ordered Puig Traffic Screen to fit myself. (Thanks for seperate video on that.)

Google Translate.

    Cheers for showing the video, I've just ordered one and picking it up on Friday! Have you thought about fitting an optimate/conditioner to the battery for the Winter months? Or maybe you ride all Winter as well.

      Congratulations on your new scooter. You will love it. The acceleration is addictive as it is really sharp of the mark. I ride all year round so no need for a battery optimiser. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.

    Hi Gary it’s me again 😊
    How did the SH cope with winter road salt after you’d coated the it with acf 50, and especially the radiator that doesn’t seem to get much protection from that front fender. Did the scooter come out of Winter looking half decent or did you find rust anywhere?.
    Still pondering whether to throw £5 n half grand at a scoot for winter use. I don’t want to go down the second hand route as I would rather buy new.
    Thanks, Dave.

    • @GaryGSF
      @GaryGSF  Год назад +2

      The SH coped admirably with the winter with the ACF50. In March I removed it and all parts had no rust or corrosion on them. I have found scooters rust the exhaust pipes at the front due to the salt but the downpipe being stainless steel was fine. The radiator did not seem to get any crud on it so it should hopefully not be a problem. I put fork gaiters on the front of the bike so they are protected. It's first winter did not hurt the scooter. Let's see how it's second one goes.

      @@GaryGSF cheers Gary that’s much appreciated 👍🏻. Tuesday gone, my VFR was in for MOT and I’d booked a test ride on the SH whilst my bike was in the garage, but the gormless lot hadn’t charged the battery up. When sales were showing me the scooter and tried starting it, it wouldn’t start and was only showing 10.2 volts on the dash, so that put paid to that. I might nip back this next Monday and try again as I still want this scooter.
      Gary, many thanks for being so prompt with your reply as now it’s a goer.
      Have yourself a great weekend 👍🏻

      @@Amos1965 You should take that test ride. I was out with my motorcycle club today and being lazy this morning I took the SH instead of my Yamaha Tracer. Found myself playing along side of my friend on his Kawasaki VN900. Initial accelleration was faster on the SH but after longer than expected the VN did overtake. You would find the acceleration on the SH addictive. Enjoy your test ride.

    great review. Did you compare to Forza 350?
    Also, is the bike suitable for riding in winter and is it ok on dual carriageways. Thanks

    • @GaryGSF
      @GaryGSF  Год назад

      I didn't ride the Forza as this was a pre-reg with a massive discount so it was the only one I considered. The Forza 350 I am sure is better for carraigeway use being bigger. I had a Forza 125 shortly after they were released and loved it so I could imagine the 350 being much better. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

    Nice test ! I have a 300 from 2009 bought recently with only 12000 kms, I put 10000 kms more on it in one year ! If you look in Italy and Spain, these SH are very current in the streets : The SH is made in Italy and Honda sells more this model than Piaggio the GTS 300 (2000 euros more expensive, and the price of the SH350 is the same as the GTS 125 ....) You can find selling ads with more than 120000 kms !!!!! It's the same in Spain ! If you go to Barcelona, you will find 125 and 300/350 SH every five meters parked !!!!
    I live at the border of Spain in the south of France and I will travel in the pyrennées this autumn with it (I also have motorcycles ....) Just take care with the belt, use only the original and go to Honda shop for the service. I try to make some economy by changing myself the belt with a BANDO made in Japan made for the SH and it lasts only 4000 kms ......

    • @GaryGSF
      @GaryGSF  Год назад

      That is great information. I am in southern Spain several times a year and I do see many Honda SH models but mostly the 125cc type. The Piaggio GTS is really expensive here too. The Honda was very good value in comparison. The performance is excellent. I travelled today on a motorway (I think autoroute in France) travelling at a constant 120kph with no issues at all. Still plenty more power to use.
      I do have a dealer who looks after my motorcycles who insists on the best parts so I plan to take care of my scooter as you recommend.
      Thanks for all your advice and taking the time to watch my video. It is very much appreciated.

    Horrible sound quality, close to unbearable.
    Considering options to my vespa gts300 and have looked at this honda but also bmw you had. Nice machines.

    • @GaryGSF
      @GaryGSF  Год назад

      Apologies on the sound quality, it is poor. In my view the BMW had a couple of critical issues. The front suspension is rock hard. Even harder than my Yamaha Tracer 9. The bodywork squeaked all the time which is really annoying. On the plus it is the best handling scooter I have ever ridden with amazing brakes. The Honda however is a lot lighter and less substantial physically. The brakes are good but not amazing. On the plus side it is easy to manage, super fast off the mark and better built (no squeaks or rattles). For me the Honda suits me best but I do miss the feet forward of the BMW. As you have the GTS you'll not miss it. Good luck in what you buy. Thanks for watching, bearing with the sound and taking the time to leave a comment.
