- "Nashville is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Tennessee. The city is the county seat of Davidson County and is located on the Cumberland River. It is the 23rd most populous city in the United States." - Wikipedia.org
"Named for Francis Nash, a general of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, the city was founded in 1779. The city grew quickly due to its strategic location as a port on the Cumberland River and, in the 19th century, a railroad center. Nashville seceded with Tennessee during the American Civil War; in 1862 it was the first state capital in the Confederacy to fall to Union troops. After the war, the city reclaimed its position and developed a manufacturing base."
"Since 1963, Nashville has had a consolidated city-county government, which includes six smaller municipalities in a two-tier system. The city is governed by a mayor, a vice-mayor, and a 40-member metropolitan council; 35 of the members are elected from single-member districts, while the other five are elected at-large. Reflecting the city's position in state government, Nashville is home to the Tennessee Supreme Court's courthouse for Middle Tennessee, one of the state's three divisions."
In this video, JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew conducts a roughly planned exploration tour of Nashville, including several points of interest that proliferate downtown. This video was recorded on Saturday, October 25, 2020.

Fun fact, most locals call the AT&T building the Batman building
Thanks! I always wondered if that building had a nickname.
You would love riding the gravel roads of Hickman County, just west of Nashville.
Dude, I have a video coming from that county soon :) I only scratched the surface during that day. I rode about 40 miles there, then hauled arse to record this video in Nashville.
Just saw that!!! I did the Gosh Darn last year. You’re right, there is SO much in Hickman. Thanks for posting these!
Great video! I had to laugh at the irony of a Johnny Cash museum in Nashville. Johnny hated Nashville, even famously giving Nashville the middle finger on camera once. 😄 Still, awesome video!
Hahaha, I thought the same thing, and by chance, the museum rolled into view. Brilliant!
At the 6:00 mark you mention a politician and then you can hear a coo coo clock in the back ground chiming. 😂
Loved this city tour, the quality is great! :)
Thank you, more to come soon!
The big domed building is Municipal Auditorium, not the Country Music Hall of Fame. And the building you rode under at 9:00 is the Music City Center.
Oops... thanks Jeff. I'll figure out a way to point that out.
That’s right Jeff White. The first street you saw on 2nd Avenue with the BB King club is the street where the Nashville Bombing happened. No innocent people were injured thankfully, but the majority of those businesses on that side are still closed as of 5/18/22.
The columns are in the Bicentennial Mall another outdoor place to visit with the African American Research Library and Nashville Sounds baseball stadium nearby.
There’s always always always lots of free music events here every day of the week. Come visit!
Muchas gracias por compartir esta vista de Nashville 😍😍😍, saludos desde Argentina!!
Any chance of a video from the Northeast after COVID is done? Some great roads and history. Vermont is a gravel paradise, but bring your climbing legs!
Hi Chester. I was supposed to ride in the Northeast this year but Covid put an end to that. I've ridden several times in Vermont already, but before I was shooting video in this new, and I think, more interesting style.
Спасибо, очень интересно.
I hope you were able to get onto our Greenway system that is located right by Nissan Stadium and also North of Fort Nashborough
Pretty sure I played around on that a little, but usually my ramblings around downtown are sort of plan a route, and hope for the best!
