@@JustBSingProductions I hope we might get another JSA set in the near future, and as you’ve noted, maybe more females as well. For me, this wave is so good overall, With the Wonder Woman, Superman and the trio pushing it over the top for me👍
Green Lantern Alan Scott is now one of my new favs. So happy that McFarlane was able to pull off the two tone color for his cape and his fun vintage design overall!
As a wave, the Aquaman and Wonder Woman really don’t do it for me but that said the rest of the wave, especially that three pack is a serious home run. And Todd can put Alan’s ring on the correct finger when he wants to. Great review guys. Really fun
Batman was a must for me! I really like it a lot also. But that Wonder Woman is the surprise. That gold works so well! I’ll have to try to find that one.
Love the review! You guys hit all the points I could possibly think of. As a fan of new characters, this wave had a ton. Plus a toss in a new Superman sculpt and we've got a really good wave.
I'm glad to finally see the gold Aquaman and Wonder Woman figures up close. Not as happy with the Wonder Woman, but Aquaman looks better repainted with the brighter orange and darker green. The other figures in this wave are all especially good. I actually found this Superman has a better, more classic sculpt. Bizarro and Riddler are my favorites in this wave. We're getting closer to getting the Legion of Doom completed. I really like the homage to the old Super Amigos Riddler.
I have to say I am really excited for Alan Scott. I was never a fan of the character until he was altered and became a man who came out late in life. It added a whole new dimension to the character and tapped a segment that I don't believe was ever touched on in the comics before and truly reflected real life, a father who comes out after trying to live up to society's expectations. I'm also happy that my favorite character gets another figure and I really like the gold version Wonder Woman. All in all, this is a great wave of figures. I just really wish we got more variety than Batman and Superman in every wave, but it is what it is...
You’ll love the figures! I know a lot of folks get tired of the Batman and Superman inclusions, but IMO, as long as they change it up a bit with Batman and Superman and they keep the line going and growing, I’m cool with it!
@@JustBSingProductions but, in all honesty, the Batman and Superman figures are always left behind. Granted, there were too many Jon Stewart figures and WalMart had them well past the wave it was released, but it seems like it's more of a hindrance to the line. I mean, unless you are a diehard collector, you typically don't want to keep buying the same figures, just because they look slightly different...
Batman and Superman are the first to sell in my area. Guess it just depends where you are. For people who are completists, it can certainly seem excessive, and we’ve been put off by some that we really only got to do the review, but for the casual collectors or kids, it’s smart to have those hallmark characters in different looks to attract new buyers. And I love that in the last couple waves (and moving into Wave 10), they’re changing it up with new sculpts to keep the variants a little more interesting to even the die hard collectors. Of course, I’d absolutely LOVE to see more new characters, but I get the reasoning.
Awesome review guys! Thanks for bringing the goods and showing us those gold figures and JSA up close. Agree with you and others who are pleasantly surprised with that Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Expected the JSA to be great, but I love that you showed the comparisons and how not all reused parts are bad! I sure hope EE doesn’t cancel my order this time because I’d really like those six figures lmao!
Hey! More and more characters. Great! That means I'm going to have to set up more displays for the figures here soon. Looks like Wave 10 is going to be another great wave of picking up for next year. The Jason Todd Robin looks like a decent figure actually!
I'm most excited for the 3 pack. Those figures look great. I do wish they gave the Riddler a slimmer body. He does look too jacked. Very happy with Bizarro.
Thanks for another showcase guys! Can’t wait to get my three pack and I was able to track down the gold figs, after I was just complaining about how hard they might be able to get. I’m loving that WW.
Awesome to see all these, and I wasn’t expecting to get all of these at this point in time, but great to see, it you know what’d be swell? I’d love to see that special edition miniseries version that was all blues and whites for ocean camouflage.
This line as a whole (not just this wave, but all waves) reminds me of the Marvel Superheroes line from Toybiz. Not the DC line from Toybiz. Those had levers, and some had reused sculpts. This reminds me of Marvel. They're all taller. 5 inch range. Yes, the scaling bothers me. My brain locks onto it and I can't unsee it. I hate to sound negative. I honestly wish I could be more excited about this line.
Great review guys, give the lasso to the first Wonder Woman with out the red cape and you have the classic version. She just need smaller arm bans instead of bracers. In the Superman comparison old and new, the card art for Keener Superman had darker skin color. Maybe a prelude to this new Superman.
@@JustBSingProductions It be something if the card art matched, it be a great homage to the original. That's McFarlane for you, repaint and swap. I really hope, they come out with a Classic Wonder Woman, since now there is a Lasso. Now a W10 Classic Robin. In hope for a Grayson version down the line. Love the review and love this wave! I’d probably go very high Good or So Good for this one overall. I’m looking forward to getting that 3 pack. Should be here by Monday!
I'm sure you've been told this many times, but you guys need to interview Mr. McFarlane about the S.P. line. I've seen him give interviews to channels smaller than this and not nearly as high of quality. You're doing a lot for the line. You have a lot of praise for him and would also ask those top three questions... Female figs? Play sets? Accessories? If they could start doing just one or two of those three requests, this could be the best retro line ever. Scaling could be fine-tuned more. I hope they keep improving. Some figs are perfect, and some could have been easily. Still good, but could be soooo good.
Appreciate you gassing us up. I’ve enjoyed some of the interviews he’s done on other outlets, and I’m not sure we could do much better or glean any new information. But, of course, we would welcome the opportunity to talk with Todd or someone on the McFarlane Toys team. The opportunity just hasn’t presented itself yet. Maybe one day.
So good for me. I ordered three Supermans. I was going to repaint the eyes black, but I might also try repainting the skin to more closely match the original figure.
Blue/gray Batman will always be the best! The black/gray figure looks like John Byrne’s Batman from the Man of Steel comics, so hoping my Entertainment Earth preorder goes through.
great review! as for aquaman, i'm very tempted to get the first version and paint it all gold myself. don't get me wrong, this new version pops (the "classic" jlu figure had a similar gold shirt), but it isn't a "gold" version compared to the other four. i know, i know: whine whine whine :)
Agree w Chris’ ratings … especially Superman … and overall rating … Riddler had such potential with the homage so I agree with you both. Agree with Aquaman just wish more gold too. I might give WW so good based on what you’ve shown me. Maybe I’m biased due to the lasso lol Great review!!!
Awesome video was excited to see it today loved it thanks. I do have a question where can I pick up the 40th anniversary Aquaman and Wonder Woman action figures can't seem to find it anywhere on line??
They aren’t online currently. They were only available from Entertainment Earth for preorder. They’ll most likely hit stores soon, and then places like GameStop and Walmart may add them to their online inventory, or you’ll be able to find them in person at those stores.
We got ours direct from China from a friend of ours. They should hit stores soon, as we mentioned in the video. GameStop, Target, or Walmart are the most likely, besides finding them online through third party sellers.
It is so hard for me to pass on Super Powers! I started Collecting with Super Powers in April 1994! Unfortunately, I switched to standard 6" scale and the 4" or 4.5" of Super Powers is just too small. I would however, gobble up a full Legion of Super Heroes in Super Powers as the Smaller Scale would work for young Teenagers!
I really like that Wonder Woman -- and I've never liked gold variants of anything. And I've *got* to get that Riddler. Thank you for the thorough reviews! Edit: about Super Amigos -- I repainted a Spin Master 4" Superman to be El Capitan Ray.
My first comments on a review. Great video. I usually enjoy your content. Plus the close ups on the figures. I'm actually liking the entire line. Definitely after Bizarro and the Riddler. And I'm a JSA fan. Two questions... 1. Do we get another Riddler in the future? 2. Since Wonder Woman is the only female Todd will make, do we get an original Marsden version from the 1940s to go with the JSA? She's basically the only female on that team. The eagle on the chest and the star spangled skirt. Just something to think about.
@@JustBSingProductions another question, does the gold Nightwing varients count as a gold 40th edition as Robin? I know the actual answer but I'm thinking the gold varients should be the original 8 heroes, which leaves Robin, Green Lantern and Hawkman, or do we get another gold hero... Or villain?
I’m thinking the same as you. Original heroes first. Hal Jordan GL would probably be next since they already have the mold done for him. Wouldn’t hate some gold villains either, to be honest.
Love this wave... I'm thrilled we're getting JSA members finally, and they look awesome! I wonder if we'll get Earth Two versions of Superman, Batman, Robin and Wonder Woman. It'd be an easy thing to do given that they'd essentially be repaints (with the exception of Wonder Woman of course). The Super Amigos Riddler is disappointing, to say the least. I'd have preferred an actual Riddler, especially in SUPERFRIENDS form to add to the Legion of Doom. Methinks Todd released this version first given that many would have probably passed on it had they already had an authentic Riddler already in their collection. I hope we get him in the traditional form as well as what you both noted. What can we do to get more females for this line? Should we suggest a crowd fund of sorts or maybe have females sandwiched between male characters in a 3pk? How else could Todd be convinced to do more of them? Any ideas?
I wish I could answer your question. My only hope is they have a new female sculpt in the works and are waiting for that to be finalized before dropping all the ladies we’ve been asking for.
Smiley Supes is a strike one ☝️ Hopefully, they will improve the head sculpt and absolutely right… The logo is too big. Hopefully they will improve on that as well. The colors are correct though.
I really hope they get over having to have Batman and Superman figures. Where's Shazam , Mary Marvel, and Freddie Freeman? They could even include a mini mister mind mini with Shazam. I also hope they get to doing a Plastic man . Long over due.
Nice review, guys! I'm digging Superman a little more. If I see him in person, I might have to pick him up. Bizarro is nice, though that head sculpt isn't working for me. I'm really dying for that Batman! I'm gonna see about giving the extra one I ordered an emblem without the yellow oval. Not crazy about the choices made for Riddler, although I do understand the Super Amigos reference (I'm getting him because it's about time we got a classic Batman villain). Wonder Woman looks cool in gold, but I don't need her; Aquaman shouldn't even be considered a gold edition, honestly, but that said, he looks nice (I'd prefer a classic head, however). Not a bad wave. What do you guys think about the recent NYCC reveal for wave 10?
Solid assessment. I think you’ll like that Superman more in person. Feeling good about Wave 10 from the digital renderings we’ve seen. What are you thinking?
@@JustBSingProductions Wave 10 looks great! Robin is a must, as is Batman Unmasked. I'm half tempted to get a second unmasked Batman and make a Hugo Strange with him; maybe I'll give it a shot if I can get a cheap Lex Luthor from the original line. Lobo is very tempting! Jay, Atom and Return of Superman all look nicely done, too; I hope Superman is a sign of more characters from that era getting done.
I cancelled my pre order for Superman today. I do not want a 6'6 scaled Superman with He-man skin tone. The Riddler is an easy pass and deserved his own head sculpt. Bizarro will be a welcome addition to the shelf. Black and Grey Bats is fine. Gold figures are crap. They really need to retire all of the original sculpts. The JSA 3 pack is my most anticipated of the Wave. They look great and I am glad that they did not cheap out on the capes. Sigh the direction of this line drives me crazy! For every positive there seems to be multiple negatives. Come on Mcfarlane design team! It's like you go out of your way to screw this line up! So many odd design choices. WTF is up with you giving the upcoming Lobo a JLU style head???
New Aquaman is better looking paint wise but nothing says gold edition with his paint. I like the gold Wonder Woman though and the other gold edition figures. I’m hoping for a gold edition Green Lantern, please🤞 I want it to be Hal GL but will take a gold John Stewart too. Aquaman is a fail though
To me, this Wave is very close to Wave 7 as 'the best Wave' ... with The JSA 3-Pack, The black & grey Batman, and the Superman.!! The Golden Age Green Lantern ...on that body buck ...is Great.!! They could put all of the JSA figures on that buck and I would be fine with it.!! The black & grey Batman looks great...!! One of my favorite Batmans...!! The Superman looks great, too.!! That's a nice buck he's on...!! So glad we got that new buck.!! Bizarro is a good figure that many are happy with. Disappointed with the face mask of Hourman.!! Really disappointed.!! Those eye-holes are way too big ...and it almost ruins the look of the figure for me.!! Those eye-holes made smaller with some black on his mask would have made him look so much better.!! It's Tragic that they went with that mask..!! The Riddler is a bit of a disappointment, too.!! If they were going to do a homage to the amigo ... they should have just repainted that Hal Jordan-Green Lantern figure they released. Why do what they did.!!?? Better yet, they could have given us a good Riddler figure on a different buck with a cane ...and maybe a hat ... and later given us the homage.!! Overall, ...I'm really happy with the Wave. Those Justice Society figures, Batman, and the new body-buck for Superman and Bizarro ... was elating.!! We are over-due for more Villains. I, of course, want to see The Joker, Lex Luthor, Catwoman, and more of the Legion of Doom villains. (Especially Captain Cold, and Cheetah.!! ) Personally, ... I would like to see Solomon Grundy, Wotan, Vandal Savage and the original Members of the Injustice Society of the World.!! Really happy with the Super Powers line...and I hope it does well.!!
You guys should do a video on figures you think are total BS. Not limited to Super Powers, but anything you've collected over the years. That would be interesting.
@@JustBSingProductions Well I spent 30 minutes with an Amazon rep a few days ago trying to get some sort of update, and again, this person was clueless. They offered to "cancel" my order but I ADAMANTLY insisted they not do that! I have also complained to MTS but their story seems to be once they ship to Amazon it's out of their hands - which I can see. But that's my story for whoever it helps - and I KNOW I pre-ordered this thing at 1st opportunity (my Amazon account says May 9, 2024).
Too much recycling, this line could be over for me. The white under the superman symbol is a standard procedure, not always followed, but it is a standard procedure
Recycling is something all companies do, and as we said in the video, if they recycle but create something new, I don’t personally have a problem with it. That JSA set is heavily recycled sculpts, but it is absolutely fantastic. But I can certainly understand those who feel differently and are hoping for more unique features.
@@JustBSingProductions Hello, I do understand it is a well estamblished cost cutting measure, but getting one sigle new body in an entire wave, and having figures with conspicuous detailing (like straps and belts) that has been just painted on, isn't a sign of well-being for a toyline.
The updated Aquaman is definitely an improvement, but it still has that dumbass long-haired beard look. couldn’t stand that look ever since it started in the comics way back when. This new paint scheme with a proper classic clean-cut, clean shaven head sculpt will be the way to go. Do something right for a change McFarlane.
@ something for everyone would be great… BUT if there was something for everyone, we wouldn’t have three long-haired bearded repaints of Aquaman and none of the good version with the short hair. Three versus none is not great.
That’s what they showed on the crowdfunding promo images. It did say that they were digital renderings and could change though, so won’t really know until they’re officially out.
In many cases, yes. In others, it improves figures for those who prefer different looks or offers variety for casual collectors who aren’t completists.

The eagle on the chest and the star spangled skirt. Just something to think about.
There you are! Glad to have you officially! I think a classic Wonder Woman is probably a good bet.
@@JustBSingProductions I was thinking that. The Kenner battlesuit Luthor and android Brainiac both gold....
Smiley Supes is a strike one ☝️
Hopefully, they will improve the head sculpt and absolutely right… The logo is too big. Hopefully they will improve on that as well. The colors are correct though.
It looks like the head sculpt on the Wave 10 Supes isn’t smiling, so that one will probably end up on the classic costume buck at some point too.
they sometimes use a white undercoat to make yellow "pop" more. its probably an alignment mistake for the next two colors. =[
Yeah, it’s just funny that I personally have not seen that undercoat on any of the other figures except Bizarro.
I hope they do a Riddler variant with a suit on and his hat. I kinda like that design better.
I think a lot of people would agree!
I love the three JSAers but where is Green Lantern power battery???
Great question!
I really hope they get over having to have Batman and Superman figures. Where's Shazam , Mary Marvel, and Freddie Freeman? They could even include a mini mister mind mini with Shazam. I also hope they get to doing a Plastic man . Long over due.
That was one our most wanted multipacks
Hugo Strange would be a fun custom!
@@JustBSingProductions That's what I'm hoping for! Getting another Batman villain is a huge plus, too.
I just really hope this Batman is more available than the last one.
Hope so too. The distribution is so spotty with these.
I love that riddler. Y’all have a super good objective review structure. But, I just love that riddler in a “so good” fashion.
Respect man, it’s a fun figure! And as we said, it’s pretty divisive, so we expect opinions to vary on that one above any others lol.
I think you make a good point for the rating system that riddler could have been better. Riddler is too jacked.
The Bizarro is probably our favorite overall from this wave
Gotta say that the Riddler is my favorite out of this group!
He’s a fun one, even if we rated him the lowest.
Hadn’t even considered a gold GL, but now that you’ve mentioned it, I definitely want to see that.
(Especially Captain Cold, and Cheetah.!! )
Personally, ... I would like to see Solomon Grundy, Wotan, Vandal Savage and the original Members of the Injustice Society of the World.!!
Really happy with the Super Powers line...and I hope it does well.!!
Can’t argue too much with any of those thoughts and wants for future waves!
You guys should do a video on figures you think are total BS. Not limited to Super Powers, but anything you've collected over the years. That would be interesting.
That’s a fun idea!
Did anybody ever get the Amazon exclusive all-black Bats/Whirlybat/Batwing?? Mine is still “not yet shipped” and Amazon customer service is clueless.
I don’t think anyone did, but I’ll be curious to hear from others. What a messed up situation.
Very stupid of McF to not use the Hal Jordan body for Riddler!
I’d be interested to know what made them make that decision.
👍🏻
D three pak naming n placement incosistent cuz geeen lantern a far bigger brand logo name but hour,an a cooler more sought collectible
We happen to dig the long haired look, but we’d also like to see the classic so there’s something for everyone’s tastes.
@ something for everyone would be great… BUT if there was something for everyone, we wouldn’t have three long-haired bearded repaints of Aquaman and none of the good version with the short hair.
Three versus none is not great.
Hence why I said we’d like to see it! Lol
@@JustBSingProductions so is the third one supposedly going to be Super Friends inspired but still with the long hair?
That’s what they showed on the crowdfunding promo images. It did say that they were digital renderings and could change though, so won’t really know until they’re officially out.
The riddler is good
He’s definitely not a bad figure. Was very close to being rated Good on our scale too. Just personal preferences.
I like that WW design! Me no like Bizarro
Bizarro am angry 😁
Still no new females figures!?!?!
Well, another Wonder Woman…😂
an aquaman gold figure that is not gold....Mcfarlane... wtf...
😂 hey now…his trident is gold!
@@JustBSingProductions lol
Pale Superman annoys me more than anything. He should be a tan mofo.
Well you’ll definitely love this one!
You guys make it sound exciting but repaints are a lazy “improvement” deserving of a BS rating.
In many cases, yes. In others, it improves figures for those who prefer different looks or offers variety for casual collectors who aren’t completists.
