Thanks for the video. A nice touch putting the range up on the screen, so many video you see without any idea of the range. I'll check previous videos and see what mods you are using for the slugs to work.
A lot of people don't realize what a threat rabbit burrows in field edges can pose to livestock, horses and ponies etc.. A colleague had two ponies (now only one..) and a couple of years ago she moved them to a newly rented paddock where rabbits had a well established warren in the hedge bottom (similar to the situation you highlighted in this field) - Unfortunately, one of the ponies was running around in the paddock for some reason (can't be sure why because nobody was present at the time..) and it's leg dropped through the soft ground into a foot deep rabbit burrow, the pony's momentum broke it's lower leg very badly and sadly it had to be put down.. I also know of cattle being injured in a similar way, though to a lesser extent..
Another great night Mr Lancs shed loads of bright eyes wished I had a permission like that my lord well done that man great shooting love seeing you shooting , wouldn't mind getting myself a setup like that myself I no you said it was an FAC but hear the rest, could you let me know what FPS it is thanks 👍
Good shooting! Rabbits are a nervous animal to set up on. No need to read all this, I type too much, no offense taken if you skip it. Odd question - are there Canadian tourists to the UK who bring their rifles to go to shooting ranges or to do something similar to this? I know Canadians can take their rifles to the USA all the time, but that's not the place I want to be lately. Since suppressors are illegal in Canada (even for < 500fps airguns - don't get me started ), I'd like to go somewhere suppressors are encouraged. You know, like borrow or lease one for a few sessions, maybe in exchange for ammo or $$? I'd have 22 of course, but I'd like to try the 7mm hunting rifle I'm going to buy, with a suppressor. I assume there'd be a guest friendly range somewhere? Is there a UK limit on caliber? Here in Canada there's a limit of lbs-ft, but it's insanely high - 10,000 Joules. I could walk into a gun store & within 30 mins, have a 500 Nitro Express legally in my home, no waiting period. Freaks me out a bit. Still, I can't buy a silencer for anything at all. I assume there's a dynamic of poaching, but here in Nova Scotia, there's no such thing. Look, I got myself started. Anyway, 7mm remington mag is my next one & I'd like to travel with it. I was going to get an FX Sniper in 30cal, and I still might, but I find I get similar results with a subsonic 22 for a fraction of the cost. Nothing against PCP airguns, I love the concept and their accuracy is incredible. It's just that a top quality 22 is just as quiet with a suppressor - 40gr @ 1070fps in a bolt action or any other closed action, and it's a lot of FPE for no noise. If FX Impact lower their prices, I'll consider one - but the $ CDN they cost, just the stock rifle - I could buy 10 rimfire rifles, or 5 really good ones. In the US, it's a good option for people with felonies - an airgun isn't a firearm there. Here in Canada, any airgun > 500fps is a firearm. I've had breakbarrels most of my life. But since I got my gun license, I find 22 to be ideal for this type of thing (< 150m accuracy, quiet, cheap). Shooting stingers (.22 cal @ 1640fps) is a lot of fun, though!
@@lancsvermincontrol Thanks for the info, I use ATN's and the calculator isn't bang on you have to fiddle the scope height and BC in the scope software to get it hitting consistently at anything other than the zero for pellets, slugs and 22lr, it's fine with the hmr.
I guess it's to try and prevent criminals or people who are considered hazardous/dangerous from having them, however if you're of sound mind and police consider you not a danger to the public you can apply for a licence and be fully unrestricted.

It was certainly testing in that wind.
Always wanted to know why when rabbits became a pest, people shoot the foxes? Never made since. You gained a new subscriber!

Nice shots. What do you do with a lot of rabbit meat?
Mate, that's like £100 worth of meat, I bet you won't struggle to hit your protein intake this winter, lol.
Definitely won't struggle 👍

The noise of the wind seems to be hiding you from the rabbits, they are unaware of your activity.
True!

In the UK, you can buy an air rifle with a 12lbft limit without a license, but anything more powerful needs a firearms certificate.
What the model of your thermal you use. Thanks
All in the video description.
What's the shot count like, what liner in it ,
what do you do with all the rabbits m8 cuz id be interested in a few for my hawks

What speed, zero and BC have you got in Ballistic calculator (if you're using it) and does it require any fettling to make it work ?.
960fps, 40 yards zero, 0.113BC.
You will need to test to see if these figures work with all the data you input yourself.
