Tears involuntarily pour out of my eyes every time I hear it. I haven't even heard the other tracks on his album yet because of the emotion of this song. I will eventually tho, just have to prepare myself.. ya know

That was so lovely to watch. And tbh I still feel the majority of the wonder you showed and those emotions, crying and laughing, at least 50% of the times I listen to this song.
This isn’t his greatest album by a long chalk, but this song was worth 10X the album cost on its first listen.

These riffs Jacob is showing Tori are riffs that most of the Pop, Rock vocalist wouldn’t do, as Jacob explains these are riffs a (Jazz/Blues) musician would play - Jacob (and Jazz vocalist) sing these licks/riffs … Jacob is a beast, so talented
That's exactly it!! I realized the same thing yesterday when I was trying to imitate the sounds (again) - the riffs are what OTHER instruments would be doing ordinarily. You are spot on!!

Jacob completed this project in 3 days, including all the background vocals, seems impossible, but Tori part was done in 1 hour and Jacob added the background vocals same day, duh …. 👍👍👍👍👍

Jacob is on another level, right! His fanbase not only consist of mere mortals, but some of the biggest musical minds in the world. He regularly make these videos where he picks apart one of his songs and go through the tracks and how everything's recorded (search for the 'Logic Sessions'). He plays about every instrument under the sun. I really hope you'll react to Moon River as well, and "Summer Rain (Mahogany sessions)" for something that's less over the top but could very well be one of the most beautiful songs you've heard this year!

If you're just discovering Jacob Collier you might try an earlier collaboration between Tori and Jacob doing 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"...or Jacob and Tori performing his "Witness Me" live on the Jimmy Kimmel talk show...or for just Jacob (no Tori) you might start with "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing" or "Moon River" or "All Night Long". Legendary producer Quincy Jones, who has worked with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and Miles Davis in his multi-decade career, has said of Jacob, " I have never in my life seen a talent like this."
