Mr. Bill Monroe and a few others might have argued against that "don't play too close to the bridge" He seemed to LOVE that closer to the bridge sound...I personally can't get it to sound good, but I've heard it!! Gotta love those Golden Gates!!!
Thanks man! Good stuff! I also round the lead edge of the pick (I use Golden Gate), and buff it smooth with 400 grit wet and dry. I also use Gorilla Snot 😁
Love seeing the G strings reverberate at 0:45
Dude I’ve been watching for like 2 days and you are already my favorite creator. I’m saving for a mandolin I can’t wait to get started!
Thank you sir. This helped me alot.
So glad!

That's gold, right there, folks. This man knows whereof he speaks!
I like the assembled thoughtful tips here. Many people (& would be players) may never think of them...
Its interesting to see how in classical mandolin(italian/roman school), 1 and 3 are the exact opposite

Also rounded tremolo is good
A dropped a wad on a Red Bear pick and couldn't stand it at first, but man, I wouldn't want anything else now.
Congrats!
This most informative plz tell best thickness of pick for mandolin ...... Can u plz give Amazon link ?
Beautiful instrument 👌
What about amplification? I notice the mando can easily get lost in the mix.
He doesn’t play too much with amplification as far as I know. From what I’ve heard a Piezo pick up in the bridge is the best
I use medium shape 346 flatpick , for finger, . .015. Large thumb ....ooops this is mandolin pick preference
Hey, that one pick looked like a "Bum Budda Dummm!" Pick
You said Bruce Lee and I thought Bruce Molsky😂
The two big Bruces in my life
Be like water my friend
