Seems to me that we as a society shouldn't be focusing so much on the University level but the Elementary level. Not that a black adult shouldn't be given opportunities, but if society wants Universities to be more racially diverse, we should be helping the next generation (Kindergarteners) much more so than the current adult generation. Yes, it would take longer to fix things, but the fix will be more stable, less prone to collapse.
Mark, as an ex-social worker I can tell you, you could not be more right. The problem though is that it is much MUCH harder and those jobs don't pay anything. And John and Glenn are right, it will simultaneously take a cultural revolution of investing in education from this community. This stuff is going to be so complicated I am not sure most people can really stomach it. It could take something similar to a "new deal".

I'm confused. If someone calls someone else an MF, are they accusing that person of having an incestuous relationship with their own mom, or are they accusing that individual of fornication with moms that are not their own, or are they accusing that person of having both an incestuous relationship with their own mom and fornicating with other peoples' moms as well? Also, I'm assuming due to the "active" nature of the term in question, the term can only be applied to males. Is that correct?
As much as I love, watch, and listen to Drs Loury and McWhorter, I find myself thinking how tired this conversation is. An effort to deconstruct Black Lives Matters is not what we need right now. Watching two respected voices in academia engaging in a conversation on the black experience and theoretical physics seems irrelevant when the majority of black people are worried about justice in the great country.
