Then they wanted the password/code from an other of my devices. I typed the correct in and it only says „there’s an unknown error. Do you want to reset all encrypted data?“ And now it finally works without showing that error. Now it’s a good week start
my family had one of these since 2016. it went from my mom, to my sis, now me. it's been 7 years since we've been using this beast, and to this day, i ain't leaving this beauty.

Battery was from I fix it, and replacement screen came off of an old iCloud locked 6S that was 20 bucks off of eBay. (Steal imo for the parts) I have now upgraded to the iPhone SE third generation, because it still has a home button, and it has the same exact form factor and button layout as my old 6S. Hoping it will serve me just as well as my old 6S dead.

The old versions of iOS dont work with the new secuity Apple has so I couldnt sign in on an older ipod touch until an apple service member told me about the password+secuity code thing. Apple is crazy. Sucks the old phones wont activate anymore its why I collect ipods now.

Weird issue, my iPhone XS Max on iOS 14 bugged out and suddenly REFUSED to accept my 100% correct pascode.. I lost everything that day, still have sleepless nights about it, but ow well.
airplane mode is why it wont activate it needs to call the server to activate. try maybe turning on the phone only and not connect to the internet so i think it is high time you burn a phone and try flashing to new ios to see if it will activate.

maybe activation works under iTunes since you can do that. If you choose to connect to iTunes instead of connecting to a Wi-Fi it'll activate using iTunes and that may be the key.

I think it’s because Apple used to deliberately slow down old devices on ios9 and after they lost the court case they tend to make it difficult to activate devices on ios9. I wonder what specific version do you have on your iPhone. They say it’s 9.0-9.2.1 on the 6S series that can’t activate.
