I am so in awe of people who can master English as a second language. You have nothing to be concerned about. Keep doing what you are doing. Love your tutorials.
I love your art! I also live in the USA and I so love your accent! Also love watching RUclips with creators from other countries. Always appreciate creators who do their tutorials in there second language of English. Even if they may stumble on some of the words. They are way better than I am. I only know how to speak English. So they are way ahead of me and I applaud them!!! Sub titles are next best and music is my least favorite. I love watching you and hope you are taking care of yourself. Thank you for sharing your talent and your lovely wit. You are such a wonderful teacher.
Great video - I love how you made the envelopes without the score board. As for people making videos in their native languages - I say create in the way that makes you happy and comfortable. I watch creators from the Netherlands who don't speak English, nor do they use sub-titles. I don't understand their stories, but it's easy to follow their tutorials. Of course, as the daughter of a Dutch immigrant, the sound of the language makes me think of my Oma and I love to listen.
I wouldn't change a thing in the way you create and share! I find you engaging, entertaining and oh so creative. Loving your accent and I think you are actually quite masterful in speaking English. Thank you as always for all you do and put out into the world to delight and inspire! A most grateful Catherine from Virginia 💗💗💗💗💗
I have a huge set of encyclopedias from the 1980’s. The set includes a children’s set as well as an adult set. This is an excellent idea to use it since encyclopedias are now extinct. Lol Thank you for this great idea.
What a fun video, Margareth; you came up with some lovely pieces - reminiscent of Joie de Fi. As for your friend, I would encourage her to speak English (even if it's far from perfect). I have nothing but respect for those who are working to learn another language - I am hopeless, myself 🤣- and she would gain a wider audience. It would be exciting if you could have her as a guest on your channel, to introduce her to us and to give her a feel for the entire process. I have also heard that the best way when learning a language is to converse with someone in that language. Whatever the case, it would be fun if you could recommend a variety of other Dutch channels who could use more followers. 🇨🇦
I am an Aussie who only speaks English and I love listening to your accent and have no problem at all understanding everything you say and I love your sence of humour. Just keep doing what you are doing as it's working well ❤
I have just watched this as I am binge watching all your past videos. They are amazing. I love watching them and part of the joy for me is listening to your accent. Your English is perfect and I can understand everything you say. You have a very soothing voice and accent and your sense of humour is a delight. Don’t ever change. You are perfect just the way you are. Love from England. xxxxx
I'm a french Canadian and not that good in english but i prefer earing you taking and if I need I pause and go search for what you just say and many time earing you and watching you do it it's perfect! Not earing you will not be the same and will be sad! 🙏 don't stop talking!😉😉❤
I for one am very grateful for all the time and inspiration I receive from you lovely you tube presenters, and am thankful for your videos in whatever format you prefer. X
Please stop apologising for your English. It great. Thank you for this video for people who don't have lots of paper packs or money. Resources are very expensive her in the Uk unless your lucky yo to
Hello. I’m from Spain. I don’ t speak english very well but i understand perfectly your explanations. However, make your tutorials in the way you find more comfortable. Love your job, thanks a lot.
Another great video !! Your brain must never sleep as you have so many good ideas. You are so creative and you present everything in a way that is easy to understand. Your projects have made me want to try my hand at junk journaling ! Hope you are feeling rested and on your way to a full recovery. Hugs to you 😊
Have you ever watered down glue and poured it over a kitchen sponge. You place it in a sealed container. You then use it to put glue on smaller items. Love watching your videos. Thank you for taking the leap and doing them. Looking forward to seeing what you create in 2023
If the person speaks English as well as you, please have them speak English. If not, sub titles and no music please. Love all things you made today. Great for those of us on tight budgets. Thank you ☺♥
What great ideas, and you asked about a presenter presenting , they need to be comfortable in how the person is bringing their ideas, we can read the subtitles, I just love hearing the accents, it reminds me of my family from Norway. 🥰
So many good ideas! Thank you! As far as your question about whether or not a foreign language would be preferred over English if the speaker is not so confident, it would very much depend on their filming style for me; if a video is well-made and well-paced, I can listen and watch regardless of the language spoken; but if either of those are slow or dragging, even perfect English would not compensate...
Wonderful ideas as always. I do not prefer music. I like voices even if English is limited. I listen to the videos while at work and while driving when I can’t actually watch them.
Good Morning!! ... My paper books arrived yesterday! Never thought in a million years, Id order over 200$ w of paper... yikes!! but , as I soon found out, they are hard to find, so i am really glad I bought them, I am just dying to dig into them... of course, I dont want to waste one piece, ..... I also splurged and ordered Tims Correspondence, and Field notes.... stamp sets... I took all my christmas money and splurged on crafting stuff, as we still have another 3 months of cold, inside weather... My crafting is my therapy.... It keeps me sane and calm , in this wild world ... Hope you are doing well.... and feeling better. Yes, Love, REst... is important, sleep is the only time our bodies can heal... good sleep is very important.... lots of vit d3 too. I am fighting my own battle too Hun... I got osteomyelitis from tooth extractions done by a butcher dentist... now fighting for my life to get rid of the infection. so i do understand. Love and Blessings Margreth... prayers for us both, we heal up.. ❤
I prefer your lovely accent. I watch you every time you have a video on. I like your style, your such fun!!! I love to see your treasures, because some of your likes are mine too! God bless you!!!
Thanks for your never-ending inspiration, humor and practicality. And, if you are you referring to your English skills, you have nothing to worry about! I am a teacher in the US, trust me, you exceed the skill level of many native speakers. --and who cares if you don't know the English word for occasional things. However. If your level of discomfort of your English takes joy away from your creating, do what makes you feel happy and comfortable! Happy New Year! You are a part of my creative routine, you are so appreciated!
Fabulous, Margreth. One can never have too much book page inspiration. I love any age encyclopedia as I find the etched illustrations in the old ones very beautiful. I've currently got 3 full different sets I've been given, so there's definitely lots out there if one starts looking. Thank you for the inspiration ad seeing your lovely results.
Thank you for sharing this today. A great inspiration to see how you used these pages and images to make things. I have been using calendar pictures, as magazines are too expensive, and I don't know anyone at the moment that buys them. I will have to look for a nice encyclopedia book and try using that. I understand your hesitation with cutting books apart. I have always loved books, and libraries, and old book stores.....sigh. But, I have started to cut apart some of the signatures of books I've purchased just to craft with, and it is getting easier. Just as it is getting easier to cut apart antique doilies and lace. Enjoy your day. Catherine
Oh, did your friend start the videos yet? I would tell her to speak English. The more I used my Spanish or my German, the more I felt comfortable and extended my vocabulary for each language. And if she does not know a word or phrase, have her describe what she is attempting to say. Either people will assist her in learning the new word, or they figure it out from context. If she is doing the videos, no matter the format, please share her channel with me/us.
This is one of my favorite videos from you. I don't have much storage or access to the beautiful old books. This helps me see the value of other types of books that I can get 😊. Thanks for the creative inspiration!
LOL, I actually thought I heard Daisy snoring but it was Odie, my cat. It's amazing how, when you really look, you can find so much good STUFF in one book! TYFS and purr from Odie to Daisy. Hugs, MK ❤️ 🤗 🌵
Back watching a lot of your content, love it. I'd prefer the individual to do whatever they're most comfortable with. subtitles are fine, but at the same time I wouldn't mind English even if they wanted to try (I've spoke English my whole life and its a terrible language honestly kudos anyone learning ESL) Thank you for your wonderful content.
This is fantastic! I used to have a set of encyclopedias, I’ll have to figure out where it is. Where I am in the US, we say tapir as “TAPE-ear”; it sounds much, much nicer the way you say it. I love listening to you speak.
You can’t get out of speaking English that easy 😂 -says the ex English teacher! Your English is great and we want to hear you and your personality coming through!! Great video!!
To answer your question about languages in videos. First let me say, I have so much respect for those that make their videos in English when English is not their first language. As an English speaking person I would like to hear videos in English even if it is not perfect English. I guess that is me being a bit selfish so I can make sense of the project. I am sometimes ashamed of myself for not learning a second language. By the way, I think the Dutch accent is my favourite to listen too 😉. But for me, definitely speaking English, even if not perfect. You are so fun to listen to. You are very creative and fun. 😊
Personally, I do not like just music. It is annoying. So either shy English or subtitles. Thank you for making this envelope. This is great, in my opinion, for those of us on a limited budget.
I love this video, Margareth, thank you. I love your sense of fun and enjoy your instructions and chit chat. 😄 Re your question. Whatever feels right. No music please. 🦋🌸
I'm not a fan of music only videos. I like your videos with speaking English, you do great. Subtitles mean you have to have eyes on your project AND the subtitles.
@@SevenplazaCreative thanks. I don't have the majority of the stuff that I see people use in videos about junk journaling but that's not stopped me from making them. To get the 'inked' edges I've used watercolor and a kitchen sponge cut up, brushing the edges is the same. I'm thinking about getting some dirt this spring to use in distressing paper. I already crumple it up and then use colored pencils that I've had for years to add color, and then I've got a rock I use to polish the paper with because there is wax in the pencils, so dirt from outside my front door should give a really authentic distressed look. People use coffee and tea to color and age paper, so why not dirt. Glue is the only 'extra' I buy. I don't have stamps but I can trace or draw. I have old colored pencils and old craft paint which I just keep adding water to and it works fine. I figure if it's a junk journal, then anything is an option and the what if's and why not's are the opportunity to have fun and isn't that really the point of making junk journals?
Thank you for sharing this, I learned so much from you, I visit the thrift store when I saw your first film. I use now old en new books from the thrift store and I love it, is is not expansive and so much fun when you buy a book for an euro and you make so much beautiful things from it. I love reading books, so the first book I torn apart was a little bit difficult. 😅
Really love this video! There are so many things we can use to make such beautiful ephemera. Even a book can be bought for a dollar or less and you can make a journal. Thanks for sharing. Oh and I think your English is fine. I don’t think i would like it with subtitles, because a lot of the time I’m crafting with you and I don’t want to have to watch the screen the whole time. 😊❤
Love it, love it! You are such fun to watch! You have great ideas and creative eye. I wish I had listened when I started and had not bought so much stuff. I use it but could have waited until I really knew what I needed! An encyclopedia is a great resource! I think if I couldn’t speak English but wanted to do a video I’d use subtitles.
Love how you are able to blend so many disparate items into cohesive pieces of ephemera. ... I'm not a fan of videos using music as a background because I'm usually crafting while watching/listening. If the video requires me to watch constantly, I'll usually pass it by. Imperfect English is fine as long as the video set-up allows me to see clearly what is being done.
I like English so that I can listen and follow along and if it had subtitles I would have to stop often to read. I think your English is very good, 1000000 times better than my Dutch or any other language. lol
You can also use the adult coloring books and use those and color them in with colored pencils paints or whatever you have to make “digital‘s” for your junk journal pages etc
This was lovely thanks. I went to the thrift shop yesterday and bought lots of interesting books. Atlas, plants, encyclopaedia as well as novels for their hard covers, a Jane Austin with small black and white illustratons and a poetry book. I was very impressed with my haul. You have just helped me to know how to us the pages.
Fantastic video. I don’t have a printer and love to fussy cut from books. Thank you for giving examples of what to do with them ❤ I prefer English but I do watch videos (and films 😊) with sub-titles 💛
Hi Margareth, Your videos are always great to watch, and this one has just come up after I’ve bought a set of encyclopaedia - good timing! As to your question - I am Dutch-born and love to listen to the Dutch accent. It reminds me of my beautiful Mum, and I could listen to it all day. If it is easier for the presenter to speak in Dutch, then the overall video presentation will naturally be enjoyable to watch. Natuurlijk!! Bedankt!🌷
Please speak your beautiful accent in English. You communicate just fine and sound so unique and "cute". Love your art and ideas, especially Junk journaling on a budget.
What a wonderful video! Loved all the ideas you shared and the way you chatted as you created! The glue on your hand made me chuckle (I would want to wash my hand too - lol). Your English is fantastic - but please create however you are most comfortable. I will watch whatever you do. :) Thank you for all the inspiration!
Your English is so good I personally hate the music I feel I’m not getting to know the person I think it’s so important to get a feel of the personality of the person but am I being selfish. I so admire your bravery to do this in English thank you to think we would miss your lovely laugh and hearing you say sweetie I couldn’t be without that in my life thank you xx
Ingenious! Maybe one day I'll be as quick and accurate as you are. Really enjoyed 😉 this session. Oh yes, IF you're feeling fatigued by all means, try the sessions with music. Why not?
Great outcomes from your 1 book. TFS creative ideas, love it. Your English is great, and I love to hear your accent and the way you laugh at your language question marks. Keep it up please
THANK YOU! Being new to this craft, I really appreciate you using such a simple source (the encyclopedia) to glean such lovely ephemera from. It can be intimidating to watch creators with all the expensive “stuff” when your own budget won’t allow it. Now we can SEE using what we may have around us, in a new way!
Look at Half Price Bookstore in USA for old books too. I have like 4 that I am using bc they aren't in greatest condition. And most were 4 bucks but 1 was 12 bucks... but... hey.. you still get a LOT of paper, the cover, plus the images of the ones I have are awesome
Wow, I still have a set of encyclopedias, from 1980, every volume still intact, I think after watching this video, they will become part of my craft stash.
I am so in awe of people who can master English as a second language. You have nothing to be concerned about. Keep doing what you are doing. Love your tutorials.

A very useful video, good to see how you use the images together. Thank you xx
👍🏻😘
Thank you for sharing this, I learned so much from you, I visit the thrift store when I saw your first film. I use now old en new books from the thrift store and I love it, is is not expansive and so much fun when you buy a book for an euro and you make so much beautiful things from it. I love reading books, so the first book I torn apart was a little bit difficult. 😅
It still is sometimes, that’s why I prefer to have a second copy of a book before I do that. Not with the encyclopedia 🤣👍🏻😘
Hello Margreth, I love to use Encyclopedia pages for tri-fold bases. Enjoyed watching you make the pretty ephemera. TFS
👍🏻😘
How lucky I am that you speak English. Thanks
😘👍🏻
Really love this video! There are so many things we can use to make such beautiful ephemera. Even a book can be bought for a dollar or less and you can make a journal. Thanks for sharing. Oh and I think your English is fine. I don’t think i would like it with subtitles, because a lot of the time I’m crafting with you and I don’t want to have to watch the screen the whole time. 😊❤
Thanks sweetheart, don’t worry I was asking for a friend ☺️👍🏻
Love it, love it! You are such fun to watch! You have great ideas and creative eye. I wish I had listened when I started and had not bought so much stuff. I use it but could have waited until I really knew what I needed! An encyclopedia is a great resource!
I think if I couldn’t speak English but wanted to do a video I’d use subtitles.
Yes I also got very excited when I discovered Junkjournaling and bought way to much stuff 🤪
You have such good ideas and explain very well. I hope your feeling much better. Donna
👍🏻😘
Love how you are able to blend so many disparate items into cohesive pieces of ephemera. ... I'm not a fan of videos using music as a background because I'm usually crafting while watching/listening. If the video requires me to watch constantly, I'll usually pass it by. Imperfect English is fine as long as the video set-up allows me to see clearly what is being done.
👍🏻😘
I like English so that I can listen and follow along and if it had subtitles I would have to stop often to read. I think your English is very good, 1000000 times better than my Dutch or any other language. lol
Thanks lovey , I was asking for a friend ☺️
I love this video. I use many images from books and will be looking for an encyclopedia now. Lol. Have a blessed day!
👍🏻😘
❤ Awesome ❤
Love them All !!
Thanks for sharing !!
👍🏻😘
You can also use the adult coloring books and use those and color them in with colored pencils paints or whatever you have to make “digital‘s” for your junk journal pages etc
Thanks 😊
This was lovely thanks. I went to the thrift shop yesterday and bought lots of interesting books. Atlas, plants, encyclopaedia as well as novels for their hard covers, a Jane Austin with small black and white illustratons and a poetry book. I was very impressed with my haul. You have just helped me to know how to us the pages.
Sounds like a great haul , enjoy sweetheart 👍🏻😘
@@SevenplazaCreative thanks, I am today. Making plans and getting things ready is just as much fun as the making I think.
Fantastic video. I don’t have a printer and love to fussy cut from books. Thank you for giving examples of what to do with them ❤ I prefer English but I do watch videos (and films 😊) with sub-titles 💛
👍🏻😘
I wish I had seen this video, before spending money , wow!! You are berry talented,?thank you for sharing your knowledge :)
👍🏻😘
Thank you, this was very inspiring! 💚💛🖤💜 I don't have a printer for digitals so I use old books and magazines whenever I try to "junk journal."
👍🏻😘
Hi Margareth,
Your videos are always great to watch, and this one has just come up after I’ve bought a set of encyclopaedia - good timing!
Bedankt!🌷
Dankjewel Elenore 🥰👍🏻
Please speak your beautiful accent in English. You communicate just fine and sound so unique and "cute". Love your art and ideas, especially Junk journaling on a budget.
👍🏻😘
What a wonderful video! Loved all the ideas you shared and the way you chatted as you created! The glue on your hand made me chuckle (I would want to wash my hand too - lol). Your English is fantastic - but please create however you are most comfortable. I will watch whatever you do. :) Thank you for all the inspiration!
😘👍🏻
I will watch your videos however you wish to make them - Your English is very good, and I enjoy your chats as well as your ideas and creations 😊🧡
Thanks Valerie , I was asking for a friend 😊
Your English is excellent! I am from USA and have no trouble understanding you! And I love your accent, it is not funny! Your videos are great!
Thanks sweetheart 🥰☺️
I love old encyclopedias, illustrated dictionery, technical text books etc for making background pages and ephemera. I'm happy I'm not the only one.
😊👍🏻😘
When I glue the two bases together I put an acrylic on top for a min or so it helps prevent warping while drying
Good tip 👍🏻😊
Really inspirational. I am going to try making some envelopes now and go hunting for an old encyclopedia 😀
👍🏻😘
Your English is so good I personally hate the music I feel I’m not getting to know the person I think it’s so important to get a feel of the personality of the person but am I being selfish. I so admire your bravery to do this in English thank you to think we would miss your lovely laugh and hearing you say sweetie I couldn’t be without that in my life thank you xx
No worries lovey, I wasn’t talking about my channel . Asking for a friend 👍🏻😘
Great video 😍 Thanks for sharing great tips 🙌🏵🌺🌹🌼🌻
👍🏻😘
no music! Your english is awesome, and I love your accent. You don't need music.
Thanks sweetheart, but I wasn’t talking about myself ☺️
Ingenious! Maybe one day I'll be as quick and accurate as you are. Really enjoyed 😉 this session.
Oh yes, IF you're feeling fatigued by all means, try the sessions with music. Why not?
😘👍🏻
Liked your makes today
Thanks ☺️
I just found your channel and you have kept me spellbound!!! I’m a beginner…& this has been so informative!! Thank you so much!!❤
Welcome to my channel dear 😘👍🏻
Great outcomes from your 1 book. TFS creative ideas, love it. Your English is great, and I love to hear your accent and the way you laugh at your language question marks. Keep it up please
I will dear, I was actually asking for a friend ☺️👍🏻
THANK YOU! Being new to this craft, I really appreciate you using such a simple source (the encyclopedia) to glean such lovely ephemera from. It can be intimidating to watch creators with all the expensive “stuff” when your own budget won’t allow it. Now we can SEE using what we may have around us, in a new way!
You’re welcome dear ☺️👍🏻
Look at Half Price Bookstore in USA for old books too. I have like 4 that I am using bc they aren't in greatest condition. And most were 4 bucks but 1 was 12 bucks... but... hey.. you still get a LOT of paper, the cover, plus the images of the ones I have are awesome
👍🏻😘
Your English is the best and I love it. ❤
Thanks sweetheart 😘
Such great ideas.
Thanks ☺️
I use subtitles a lot because I love to read ❤😊
👍🏻😘
Wow, I still have a set of encyclopedias, from 1980, every volume still intact, I think after watching this video, they will become part of my craft stash.
You will be cutting for hours 😂👍🏻😘
How innovative!!
Thanks 😊
Really fun video. Thanks.
👍🏻😘
Really enjoyed this, Thankyou for sharing, really great idea xx
😘👍🏻
