    I'm on Faire, and it's helped me grow my wholesale program. I already had a wholesale program that I actively managed myself, and as you mentioned, I'm used to using contracts. I don't like that so much control is taken away when using Faire. The ability to build a relationship with the stockists isn't really an element, but the trade-off of having shops stock your product that would've never known you existed makes it acceptable. My goal is to continue using Faire and doing my own legwork to bring in wholesale accounts with which I can build a relationship. I want to use Faire as more of an invoicing platform. This would let me manage custom orders such as private-label products.

    Do you suggest starting on Faire if you're new to selling candles and have low inventory? Thank you!

      Maybe not! Only because you have to be prepared for large candle orders! I would recommend getting started when you have the ability to make and store a larger amount of candles

    Big question here- when did you know it was time to leave your job prior to going full-time with you candle brand? Did you start seeing serious income with your candle brand or did you just take the leap? Really struggling with this. Thanks!

    I just got accepted onto Faire. Nerves about starting out. My wax melts are on there for sell. Do you sell those by case's or hope the retailer purchases a Atleast 3 of each scent?

      Congrats!! I always sell by the case. We do cases of 4 individual units

    When you set up your store, did you put your case dimensions in? I'm a little confused by this. Is this the box in which your 4 candles would be shipped in? If someone buys two cases and 8 candles can fit in a little larger box, you would ship them this way instead of two "cases/boxes". Right?

      OKay so Faire actually recently added in the "case" dimensions options and I don't fill those out! I JUST fill out the information needed for ONE product (weight is most important because that's how they get an estimated amount for shipping)
      I just fill out item weight/width/height for each product. i was totally confused about this in the beginning as well and thought I needed to include the weight and box of my "case" quantity

      Oh my goodness! Thank you for the clarification. My partner and I have been sitting here going back and forth as to whether we should be filling that out or not. We appreciate your fast response!@@MemoryBoxCandleCo

    So far Faire is OK. I've had my first wholesale order....thanks you your last video 😁. So the referral bonus should be coming your way soon! I like the ease of not having to worry about shipping costs, etc. I'm thinking of doing a promotion and see if that helps next.

    how do you do candle care with wholesale? is it on the label? dust cover? do you not bother?

    • @MemoryBoxCandleCo
      @MemoryBoxCandleCo  Год назад +2

      It’s always on the warning labels for all candles and we like to include small candle care cards for our retailers to (hopefully) pass out to customers!

    Am I thinking about this all wrong? As a seller we mark our products up by taking the total cost to make the item and multiply that by four. For wholesale we deduct 50%. Now fair deducts an additional 15%. That means you only make 10% on each order. Don’t forget 25% of your markup is the cost of making your item. Not sure if I’m thinking about this correctly but that will be a lot of work for 10% of the pay. Maybe somebody can correct me on this. Also, let’s not forget about the cost of shipping materials. Unless we build that into the Fair price now you’re down even more money. Also don’t front the money on a credit card. Because now you’re paying another percentage on the money borrowed. I know I sound really negative. Sorry everyone. That’s just the way I’m thinking about it.
