important, the remnant items he gets during the escape run has two doors. one exterior one that looks like a regular door and another that looks like a force field. the escape run brings down the force field, but the metal door stays. the way to get the door to open is actually very stupid and thats why it is easily missed. the console at the beginning changes the first leaping platform when it is raised, the metal door is open. when it is closed the metal door is closed. so if you did the raised first like I did, you will need to flatten it to get to the end game and think it is okay, because you can escape in that configuration. i hate that i have to find this by brute force and there were no clues. this isn't skill...this is grind.
