Just want to hug that girl. Just want to reassure all hurting children and young people. You are loved. I love you, you deserve love and please love yourself. Be a great friend to yourself, dear,♥️
I’m sitting in my room crying harder than a music video has ever been able to make me cry. Thank you so much for being such a voice for the community, for validating our lived experiences and sharing yourself in a way that’s ultimately cathartic. I always expect to be wowed by your work but this has moved me to my core... the video was absolutely perfect for the song I’ve cried watching you play this song live but I’m sitting on the floor snotty, there’s a beard of saltwater around my chin and I feel assaulted by my own emotions. This video and this song release were both well worth the wait. Thank you 😭🏳️🌈❤️
So I'm sitting in a freakin' Wahoo's in Tustin waiting for my to-go, and this song comes on their playlist they're broadcasting in the near empty (just opened up on a random Friday mid-morning) restaurant. I'm not paying attention to anything other than when is my food gonna be ready but then this song... and this refrain "Hey did you find..." that's repeating and it's sounding good and it's hitting me somewhere and I pay attention to it. The song ends and I catch this last bit of verbiage "I remember the first time..." and I scramble to open Google on my phone and that's all I typed was 'song lyric hey did you find I remember the first time' and man the miracle of Internet search worked and Becca Mancari came up as the top match. So now I get to hear the whole song and see the video and I love it.
Im amazed and im crying here . The genuine emotions i feel through this song and these lyrics are so hard to describe through words right now . i love u for this , this will remain so close to my heart x
BTW -- I hope that this song isn't 100% autobiographical -- because if so, that's **really** sad. :( (And: my best wishes to you.) In my teenage daughter's friendship group, she's only one who's het-cis: everyone else is some flavor of LGBTQI. Each with varying degrees of support from their parents -- but at least no one's been kicked out of their house or anything. /// Seems like there's an important cultural shift slowly occurring: when I was in high school (1980s), none of this was talked about; whereas now sexual and gender identity is something that's openly discussed among kids (in Brisbane, Australia, at least.).
"Would the God you love take that love so easily back?" Wowwoowowowowwwww
Love you already Becca...
