Fridays at 2pm on BBC 5 live.
Michael Keaton is one of the best actors. He was also awesome in Spotlight.
I am going to see this film.
Q: Will you pass the salt? A: I want a divorce.
Great film, Keaton really was fantastic from start to finish stole every scene
I really liked this. Hancock is a solid director.
5 Yeats later, had no idea he directed this but I absolutely loved The little things, I thought it was incredible despite what reviews say. He has some range as a director that's for sure
I found it initially quite slow but it soon picked up and was a really good film about seeing the potential in a business, having the ambition to grow it .. and being on one side of the battle between decency and ruthlessness.
It was a great unvarnished look at Ray Kroc, his good and his bad.
I thought this movie was fabulous. I was engrossed from beginning to end. Very few movies do that these days for me.
Krommer1000 agreed
This movie proves that when the US can get quality movies made, opposed to the Superhero franchise, they get it right
I was a little apprehensive at first and only saw it because Michael Keaton was in it.
Was really surprised to learn through this movie that McDonald's actually made their money through real estate.
Felt sorry for the brothers.
cliffedward they are superhero movies that are good quality films you know that right ?
The handshake scene was brilliant - almost shouting at the screen :)
Could you please tell me what handshake scene?
giorgiomx when he 'promises' to pay the brothers 1% of all profits annually forever. He refused to sign a contract and said his word and handshake would suffice.....he never paid them a penny of profits.
It's a very neat movie, I've watched it a few times, great story.
The film’s well acted, well directed, well written, intriguing, stylish, well scored & A very enjoyable biopic. (86%) (4.5/5 stars) (positive)
I loved everything but the score. It was too light for me and could have had a darker more serious vibe
My wife and I were cruising for our Honeymoon and the ship's double bill was Lego Batman and The Founder.
How bout it lol
Mark Knopfler made a song about Ray Kroc, called "Boom, Like That".
Indeed he did. After a concert I was bloody lucky to go back stage and ask him about it. I was as nervous as a cat. 😳
Mark. I do enjoy watching your reviews, but only after I've finished watching the film. It would be great if you didn't discuss half the plot in your review so I could watch them beforehand though :)
I think this film was fantastic. Taking a fairly boring subject and making it incredibly engaging
keaton did jackie brown, he was brilliant in that. thought founder was ok actually, was expecting it to an advert and was wondering why he was in this, but was surprised
Real ground beef and ice cream in the shakes are a thing of the past
What was that word Mark said around 5:47 that rhymes with renaissance?
Keatonaissance - a renaissance for Michael Keaton.
@@redlightmax Thank you.
Please review "The Man Who Invented Christmas"
In fairness to Ray Croc, McDonald's wouldn't have been a national and then global success story without him. They would have stayed local.
Others (BK, KFC, etc) would have completely dominated the fast food market instead.
‘The Founder’ seemed to me to very much share it’s tone with ‘Hidden Figures’, in that it appears to take a light-hearted and liberal approach to telling a biographical story of post-war America. Personally I never use fast-food restaurants, but that didn’t matter at all. Michael Keaton takes centre stage and owns it with a gloriously devilish portrayal. Quite clever how the movie poster uses the golden arches to appear like angel wings. It’s good fun and worth seeing. 3/5
That was my impression, yes.
I loved it
and inventor of the hula burger
Just came back from seeing the film. Gave it 7 / 10
Amazing that these fellows never heard the name Ray Kroc....
Keaton's best performance yet
Birdman is his best performance imo
While it is great. I still have to say birdman is better
2017. Uploading in 480p. Even webcams shoot 1080p, come on now.
Michael Keaton did a great job!!! Kermode is the only smart review to review it!
which would you show first ... amateur !
i thought it was really bland
that's enough about the burgers, what did you think of the film?
