      @davidzaharik5408 Look up "Benfotiamine for tinnitus" on both Google and RUclips. Apparently there's a fairly significant connection there. I don't have tinnitus fortunately but the it's the best supplement I've ever tried hands down. Many ailments are disappearing within a matter of days.
      The research is developing daily showing a connection between a vitamin B1 (Thiamine) Deficiency causing a significant amount of chronic illnesses that normally would be attributed to a deficiency in some other area of the body. Worth looking into, I would not waste your time if I wasn't so impressed by the Benfotiamine which I the fat soluble version (much better absorption compared to standard Thiamine)

Depression almost gone, anxiety still there but manageable..its not easy taking cold showers everyday and doing the breathing every morning before hand but it felt like it was my only hope. You have to believe in yourself that we all have it within us to self soothe. My only negative with breathing method is feel i have developed tinnitus. Exploring the Kundalini method changed my perspective on how the breath hold is maintained. I don’t push the breath up “into” the head, I push it up through the very top of my head. Through the center of the brain and up through the top of the crown. It is akin to pushing open an attic door above your head. That way, there should be much less inner ear pressure. Also, when you can sense the passage of the breath up through the middle of the brain…something special happens. I hope everyone that’s ready can experience it

People mention all this "DMT breathing" or getting visuals etc but I've never experienced anything close to that. The most I get is lots of emotional release and energetic unknotting. Probably the lower chakras in that system. I think what you said may crack the code, it's about directing the awareness and prana of the breath correctly.

    I'm continually perplexed why you call Wim Hof breathing "tummö style breathing" Contrary to popular current-day breathwork description, tummö has nothing to do with super-ventilation or jumping into a cold plunge, as associated with Wim Hof.
    Wim Hof method (WHM) of breathing is not tummö- style breathing, as many popular writers and commentators, including yourself, have written and often stated. Wim Hof has said that he never learned tummö and only read about the practice from 19th-century spiritual adventurers like Lama Anagarika Govinda and Alexandra David-Néel. Breathing during tummö is not fast nor powerful like in the WHM, but rather very slow. And the breath-holding techniques are completely different in tummö than in the WHM. In the WHM, the extended breath hold is on the exhale. During tummö, the breath hold is after the inhale and includes a “swallowing of the breath” and then active intra-abdominal pressure with a pulling up on the perineum and downward pressure from the throat area, known as bandhas. In tummö, the belly bulges out during the breath hold, which is why it is known as “vase breathing.” Bandhas are essential in tummö, as in pranayama, and are not taught in WHM. I write in my forthcoming book about this confusion between tummö and Wim Hoff Method.
    There is an additional conflation between tummö and the WHM because of Wim’s cold plunging and all the rage these days for cold immersion (which I do myself!). The confusion seems to come from reports or seeing accomplished tummö yogis who, to demonstrate the power of their meditative concentration and visualization practice (e.g. “siddhis” or accomplishments), the yogi goes out in the cold winter landscape of the Himalayas and wet sheets are draped over their backs and they can dry them because of the increase in body temperature (Herbert Benson first studied this (DOI: 10.1038/295234a0) in the early 1980s and wrote "we found that these subjects exhibited the capacity to increase the temperature of their fingers and toes by as much as 8.3°C", and there have been more recent studies). The point of tummö is not to withstand cold temperatures in Tibet, despite what popular podcasters say-it is about the esoteric practice of incinerating discursive mind-states and resting in a non-dual state of awareness. The heating of the body is merely a consequence from the result of vasodilation brought on by slow, nasal breathing and breath holding that increases CO2 concentration in the blood that is combined with tantric visualizations and the yogic practice of physically locking the perineum, navel, and throat-none of which is done in WHM. But because social media has seen tummö monks drying sheets, there is this conflation with Wim Hof’s cold plunging.
    As a matter of transparency, I don’t have any issue with the WHM and have practiced it myself for a couple of years. I also spent many years practicing tummö while I was living in Nepal and Tibet so I’m coming at this from an informed perspective of experiential knowledge. So when I’ve heard you and others associate Wim Hof breathing with tummö, it strikes me as uninformed. I’ve mentioned this before to you on IG and you responded positively so I’m curious why you are still calling WHM “tummö style breathing.”

    @martinpetrusbreathwork Месяц назад +10

    The name "Tummo" should not be used to describe the Wim Hof Method. This is highly inaccurate. I have no idea where it started, but it's something that everyone keeps repeating.
    The Wim Hof Method is nothing like Tummo breathing. This ancient technique is very complex and can only be taught by qualified Lamas.
    The Wim Hof Method breathing doesn’t even generate heat in the body-quite the opposite, it can actually cool the body down. WHM focuses solely on cold adaptation; there’s nothing magical about it. You simply adapt to the cold gradually, and your body becomes more resilient.
    I have already pointed out this inaccuracy to James Nestor, who also referred to WHM as Tummo.

    • @OnlineMD
      @OnlineMD 23 дня назад

      Thank you, well said!! In fact, Wim Hof has a video on RUclips where he describes his method which is hyperventilation followed by breath holding. As you said, that IS NOT Tummo which I've often seen written as gDummo. The D is pronounced as in "thou" and not "dime." I find myself experiencing cold feet when my mind is too busy or worried. It is simply an autonomic nervous system response of shutting down skin circulation as part of the fight or flight response. No wonder the phrase "cold feet" is a well-worn expression! With relaxation and gentle belly breathing, I can often (not always, haha) get my feet to warm up.

      If someone is already chronically hyperventilating as a consequence of anxiety, the wim hof may promote this pattern of breath even more. Primarily because you are not working on CO2 tolerance and chemoreceptors are more sensitive to CO2. Wim hof is low 02, low CO2.

      @@sthetik3019 This is very dangerous advice. First of all, you're giving me directions without knowing anything about my physical or medical condition, and this alone is very harmful and it can even inflict permanent damage. Secondly, the reasoning is flawed. Breathing since birth does not mean that you can breath in any way and be safe. The same way that eating since birth does not mean that you can alter your eating pattern without suffering any consequences. E.g. fasting for long periods of time (7 days+) can be damaging, and when you're going back to eating you have to be very careful, e.g. you're not supposed to eat carbs at first and you can't go eating like a pig at your first meal. In the same way one could say "trust your eating, you have been eating since birth, fast for 14 days and then eat a huge load of carbs", resulting in the death of the other individual. This is the same as saying "hold your breath for 3mins+ and then take very deep breaths for 12 rounds, trust your breath, you have been breathing since birth". It might work for some, but not for all, and especially not without medical supervision. If you have medical data please present it. Otherwise please refrain from giving advice without knowledge. You can do it ❤ take care of yourself, I'm glad it works for you, but don't push others to do what worked for you because you don't know if you're doing them good or harm ❤

Just observe your breathing at it's natural rhythm and do low to moderate physical exercises everyday coupled with a lot of stretching exercises.
