Hell of a build and video man. It's weird bc it feels like I'm watching myself. I have a similar black wood table, I keep a clean workspace, and I precut all of my parts off the runner prior to cleaning them up. I can't stand piles of runners. I'm looking forward to more videos from you. 2024 is going to be the year of the perfect grades. I have 5 in the backlog and I've sworn not to buy any kits this year. Any tips for big jobs like these? Also, Merry Christmas.
Thats awesome. Organization is my other hobby. One thing I would say about working on big jobs is dividing the parts into the steps outlined in the manual. I use plastic trays with dividers which I like to label with masking tape. Sometimes cheap tupperware from the dollar store is better for big parts. And when painting, making labeled 'flags' on my alligator clip sticks corresponding to the steps really helps too. Its a bit of extra work but helps me organize my chaos. Merry Christmas to you as well! I hope you make a dent in that backlog!
@@justinveldhuisen671 it was just paint. The pieces were clean and sanded enough where I felt confident to skip a primer and go straight to gloss black. Worked out well, and kept those paint layers thinner.
@@plamomancer Thank you for the reply! I am currently building the PG strike rouge and have been watching your video for tips and tricks on painting. I love how detailed and broken down the video is.
@@justinveldhuisen671 just be careful with the open hatch gimmick on the legs. The pegs are real thin and too much paint on those parts can cause friction which may cause some breaking so just mask off any areas that may have friction to reduce that stress.
@@justinveldhuisen671 yes. idk how it is on your kit, since I know Bandai reissued it. I built an original run of it, and I found those sections to be a bit tight so I ended up scraping/sanding the pegs that slot in just a bit. Yours might not be like that. Only real issue I found.
wow, I am a total fresh man into gunpla, this video blowed my mind, I decide to save this pg gunpla until I have enough skill to build it.

Was the gloss black for metallic a primer or just paint?

@@plamomancer do you specifically mean the open hatch gimmick in the thigh and knee cap articulation?
