@@PPD-40nope, Guts may have suffered a lot but i dont think he even suffered at "death's door" or at least opening it unlike Subaru where he died probably millions of times on loop without having him go mentally dead and exhausted, yes he suffered millions of deaths and i wouldnt even compare his death and losing his loved ones and reverting back a day before he died for millions of times over and over again and looking forward for tomorrow to do what they want to do in his current loop just to die and revert back and start from scratch to zero and it is mentally exhausting to even repeat the same movement, facial expressions, tone, act and etc. after dying and going back just to go to the same day and die again without knowing the reason why.

@@guestzeta916 Rudeus isn't realistic. He was born with Laplace factor which gave him a tremendous amount of mana and talent in magic since birth. He was also conveniently given an early warning from his future self to avoid nearly all the bad outcomes. Heck, Paul is more realistic of a character than Rudeus could ever be.

Finally in s2 he gains power during the end of s2 and becomes a pshyco sometimes depends on the situtation hes in cause sometimes he cant just handle the emotional harrasment of the situtation
Its really a god tier written isekai could solo all isekais at writing and story telling

A lot of his character development is his refusal to be a manipulator, only doing so when forced.
To kill himself would be the ultimate act of self-harm and/or manipulation, which is why he only does so to save someone else.
In S2 anime, Roswaal literally tried to create Subaru to be like him a manipulator and a monster by any necessary means and he's trying to do that as far as hired Elsa to attack the mansion, and the purpose of that is to force him to priotizing Emilia only and abandoning the people at the mansion there's no in between.
He wants Subaru to be just like him, doing anything and everything to reach the goal that he wants, by doing any necessary means even if it's costs people's lives for it.
Subaru realize that Roswaal trying to do that to him, and he said "no I'm human, I'm just human, I'll never be like you" while feeling scared.
