We couldn't find a pub, so we took The Staves on the edge of a cliff in Cornwall. There, they played 'Eagle Song' for us. Just lots of beauty (the song, the girls, the moment, the landscape...)

i hope this isn't saying the wrong thing but a compliment; The Staves are the female vesion of crosby Stills and Nash's first album; such high-reaching harmonys. Wow, I love the Staves. This is real music.

I remember being in a record shop in Brighton and the sales guy asking what The Staves were like.
I went through the tracks, on Dead and Born and Grown, and when I got to The Eagle Song the best way I could describe it was to say that it's like Bohemian Rhapsody - only better.
Saw the same guy a few months later and he told me I was right!l

Beautiful production!!! Eagle song is like 3 songs in one. Either way the Staves are one of the best bands in the universe. Their ability to create beautiful melodies/songs is amazing.

Two times. The oldest is Jessica Staveley with the dark hair. The other two are twins I believe.
@@michaelrowe6133 Emily is the eldest. Jessica (the one playing the guitar) is the second sister and Millie (the one playing the ukele) is the youngest.

Never capo a uke? Utter nonsense! There are many capos available especially for ukuleles as well as banjos, bouzoukia even dulcimers. Perfectly acceptable and very useful for the keys in which The Staves play. cf. Facing West.

Wonderful sound. The composition, the instrumental and vocal textures, and the environment all blend together so beautifully. You'd be hard pressed to get this perfect a synergy in the recording studio.
I think whoever clicked dislike must have been confused. I just sat here and watched this about four times with goosebumps from head to toe; love the Staveley-Taylor ladies and they never disappoint.
Seen them live a couple of weeks ago. They're quite simply amazing!
