I fell in love with Norma because of this scene. Someone melting in your arms telling you how much you mean to them is a addicting feeling.
My mom and I are the same. We don't kiss like that but yeah we're like one person if she went I'd be right behind her and vice versa so this scene very powerful and hits home. And it very well acted.

She's treating her son like the husband she never had. It's sick and twisted and it broke Norman's heart when she got together with Romero. She's a vile human being and she needed therapy but refused help at every turn.
Norman isn't actually dead. He survive the gunshot wound and ended up getting better and being a doctor.

It starts before the kiss. It’s starts before the eyes moving around each others’ faces. It starts when she grabs that gun.
That “whimper-y” voice while grabbing the back of his head, and explaining everything away as an act of him protecting her … that is the vulnerability that you show in a moment of recalling the time that you felt love.
I don’t care what she says or how she justifies her motherhood, in that moment she actually loves the (good side of the) man he’s become

I didn't see it as twisted. In heat of the moment, everything was so intense. You could see the desperation in her eyes and how much she just wanted to prove to her child he was loved.

Norma truly loved Norman. I don't care what anyone says, she was just a mother trying to save her child. She did her best with her past and pain she was given. She didn't always know what was right because she was done wrong but she tried. God knows she tried.
everything they went through together she couldnt lose him they both shared the trauma but in the end it was normas fault everything ended the way it did
