    I have had the honour of making moon cakes last month with my lovely Chinese wife in Australia. We put fruit, seeds and nuts in ours. Everyone loved them.

      You can actually use different fillings but what you did was typical for many people-well done!

    The etymology of the English word "month" is also "moon".
    In Chinese, 月= moon, month. It is a glyph of a crescent moon.
