Other peoples videos tell you get LED bulbs and don't show you HOW to do it. Yours does. Good job.

Bought an old mag lite for $5 at flea market yesterday. Found the replacement bulb in the cap and swapped it out. Works perfectly! I feel like that was a great score!

I knew that foam underneath the spring was in there for a reason. I’m glad I didn’t throw mine away! Thanks for making this video. 😂

Cheers - My Maglite had been very flickery after I changed the bulb - followed your instructions, and it's back to it's epic self again.

I had bought a used maglite and looking to replace the bulb and I saw your vid where there was an extra one in the cap. I looked and dammit there was one in there. I would have never known, Thank you!!!

nice job of tossing the old bulb down on the table then using it as the spare..

Thanks a bunch for the video. We had an old 2C lying around that got reeeeally dim even with fresh batteries, so I was looking around how to replace the bulb. Never was aware that there's a spare in the cap, now it's back to its original bright state. If that bulb goes dim or burns out I might replace it with an LED module~

Didn't know Maglite kept a spare bulb under the spring! I got one at a garage sale with no bulb.

LED puts incandescent to shame. But I love Incans warm glow. It’s funny having a 4d Incan maglite that gets whooped on by my cellphones flashlight.

I have an old min mag, and was hoping to upgrade it to led also. The upgrades almost cost as much as a new mini led flashlight. I just bought a Lux Pro LP293 for like $17, and it puts out more than my old Surefire G2X Pro that was $70. Sometimes it pays to just chuck the old stuff and move on.

The new flashlights are smaller and made of thinner/lower grade Aluminum. A good, OLD Maglite is an effective baton. Adding a solid state bulb that will last 10,000 hours to that is far better than buying a new light - providing you like the heft of the old one. I do. I tested out the ability to use it as a club after a friend's husband was killed with one. It's very effective - and with alkaline cells, has more heft than a Louisville slugger.

Warning! If you own a Maglite with a Xenon bulb assembly (I own a 6 D-cell), which is a newer model, this will not work. The LED bulb does not fit the Xenon bulb collar. You can either enlarge the opening with a rasp or search for a different collar. This is one of the critical things that they neglect to tell you abouy!

Worked great with my ancient Maglite, did not work due to narrow collar with my new Xenon incandescent 4D Maglite.

very helpful but it's wise to work over a flat surface when retrieving the spare lightbulb and not your lap. The spare may have broken.

I have so many led flashlights, & one dark red 3C maglite. I was about to sell the mag lite for $30... Now I dont know WHAT to do! It's the dimmest... But it's also the most rugged/sturdy of all my lights. (i have about 12 that work)

Now my question how does the brighter light have any impact on battery life.

  • @XtremeConditions
    @XtremeConditions 9 лет назад

How's the battery life on this after the upgrade? Seems like a 140 lumen LED should last MANY hours on a 4D (in my case)?

Mine came with an led bulb but I cannot get it removed. I have been trying for an hour. I have been watching all the simple removals no help. I will take vice grips to it to find out how it works. Then go back to my dollar tree flashlights..

Carlos, not to be a grammar Nazi but, you seem to have a real issue with pronouns. "Your" lifetime warranty not "you're" lifetime warranty and it's call "their" 800 number not "there". Words have meaning.
