Actually, Bellas uses directional picking. Which basically is economy picking but will utilize alternate picking between strings when the scale dictates as such (the transition between acending and descending). Economy/Speed picking will change the amount of notes on the string at the transition points to keep a strict up-down motion when changing strings. Usually, on 3 note per string scales, the string on which the transition to ascending/descending occurs only has two notes to achieve this.
@manuorchestra Neapolitan 6th, is a first inversion major chord based off the flattened second degree of a major or minor scale. In E minor, the N6 would be F/A, it normally leads to ic or V.
George is my alltime fav player... athough I thought Jeff Loomis ''zero order phase was the best guitar album in recent times...you gotta hear ''miles of machines before you disagree...''Venemous fingers''my all time fav guitar album
Economy picking and speed picking are the same thing, speed picking was called that way after "Monster Licks and Speed Picking" by Frank Gambale, he called it speed picking instead of economy picking for marketing purposes... Anyway yes, he is economy-picking! Economy picking is great, a scientific and efficient manner to approach the problem of fast picking...
Master George is the correct introduction...Bellas is the best technical player (with enough feel as you can see) ..followed by Ron Jarzombek Tony MacAlpine Jeff Loomis and.Bumblefoot
George Bellas is awesome. Gotta laugh seeing Mike Philipov comping in the background - also an incredible virtuoso!

Very cool indeed.
feels so natural....he doesn't even have to think, he's fingers are well accustomed moving anywhere on the fretboard...
Is that Led Zeppelin's "Since i've been loving you" chord progression at the beginning?
