lol came back from a year ago. And I will say from having multiple sets of vipers. I loooveee my x’s. Dirty game bag right there. That clone grabs great.
Thanks Mike, appreciate you expediting this, I know a lot of people have been looking forward to this bag. I never considered the name confusion, but you make a point. I now find myself torn between the Kaboom and this bag. I was leaning Costello X because of my affinity for the Costello, but now I'm giving pause because there really is nothing related outside of the fast side...which virtually their entire lineup shares. This is why I come here- great deep dive reviews!
The KaBoom plays quite a bit different because of the slower fast side. I would say that if you play on faster boards or like a slower bag, go with the KaBoom. If you play on slower boards, you'll probably want the faster side of the Costello X. They are both good bags. If I had to pick one, it would be the KaBooms but I tend to like a little slower bag.
I am new to tournament cornhole, I did do my research to make sure I was getting the X rather than just the Costello. I was worried about making that mistake. However, I probably got lucky I put the Xtra effort in there...
@@MikesBags actually just placed an order for some chaos’ last night. Been keeping an eye on their site since your review posted. Really looking forward to getting them in hand
I truly appreciate the great honest review. I was excited for this bag because of how much I love Costello. I may have to rethink buying a set or at least wait until I throw someone else’s. Thanks again for the great review.
I was curious how you would feel about this bag since the costello is a bag you're a fan of. Can really hear the passion in this video. The comment about people searching for their type of bag in events is so true. Appreciate you really laying it all out.
These bags are good but I was hoping to like them more. The ACL stamp makes a little better. If I don't need the stamp, I would take the Southwest Jefe.
I was really waiting for the Costello x drop. After seeing this review, I think I would prefer the jefe. Same exact material (5-8) but mixed fill in the jefe. Id say the the coyote is more similar to the wintertide, speed 5-9, fill wise, and floppy - ness. But b3s liner is probably the deciding factor there. Ill stick with my coyotes!
Coyotes over the Costello X. The performance liner makes enough difference to make to pick the Coyote. As the other comment stated, I prefer the Jefe over these as long as you don't need the ACL stamp.
Mike, nice review but I disagree a bit, I got the same pre release Sunday in the mail, broke them in Monday and been throwing them a couple of afternoons, to me they feel a lot smaller than my P-90s, Vikings, Sure fires and Pro snipers? Maybe it’s just me but I’ve been throwing straight heaters with them compared to my other bags , not trying to be negative Nancy here because I really enjoy your input and reviews! Thanks Mike !
I appreciate your feedback. My reviews are my opinions and I understand that not everyone will agree. I love to hear other opinions especially when they are different. I agree that the Costello template is smaller than the P90s and Pro Snipers. I haven't thrown the new Vikings yet so I can't comment on those. However, these Costellos are fuller and not as floppy. I like the bags and think they play great.
Good review Mike. I feel like I need to focus on just just getting down my slide shot first and since I have a pretty lofty throw I need a slightly faster bag. Speeds of like a pro sniper. I also like the bigger bag template, not Game Changer size but definitely not a fan of the smaller bags. Open to suggestions for faster bags and slightly bigger than small template bags. Keep up the great reviews!!
I am only as few months into Cornhole and getting bags. I am looking to get my 1 black sheep bag. I know there different style bags but would you suggest I go with the Costello or Costello x
I don't have a set of Kilos to review yet. From what I've been told, it's not the disc fill in them. I don't know if it's the same as the Tango fill but it's close. They are releasing a Foxtrot 2.0 that will have that same carpet with a disc fill. Not sure about the fast side material yet.
To be fair, my set is not fully broke in so they may get a little floppier but they will never be as floppy as the regular Costello. It is a good bag and I would still recommend it.
Those are all very different bags. The fast side material is the same but the slow side is not. The OG2s have a slow, sticky carpet that plays around a 3-4 speed. These Costello Xs play at a 5 on the slow side. The regular Costellos are not carpet and they play like a fast bag at a 6 speed. It all depends on what type of bag you prefer. The regular Costellos are my favorite.
Are your Costello X bags quite a small template? I saw Corbin’s review and he said the template was a bit bigger than normal Black Sheep bags but mine is not at all! Smallest template of any bag I’ve ever bought! Including BG Vikings. Just checking to see because I have no one else around me that has them so I have nothing to compare them to. I don’t like them because of the extremely small template
B3 Coyote, SubZero Wintertide, X Level Lights Out, and Southwest Jefe are my favorite clone carpet bags. The Swag Bags Chaos is my favorite R carpet bag.
missed out w that pre release and on fence to get w the viper r carpet trend but i agree w the name. the X in costello x blends into the design. as always, not sure i need em but i want them! appreciate the video!
I have no problems with the name...same template, same type of fill, same fast side as the costello. Only difference is the slow side is now carpet. Makes perfect sense to name it costello x. This review was not as informative as your other reviews. It had an overall negative tone to it which i think influenced some viewers to shy away from the bag. You said you didnt throw the bag very much and wanted to get the review out before the released date. I think this contributed to a poor/negative review. Please do another review once you have played with the bag more when it is fully broken in. I appreciate all you do. Thanks
The Black Waters and the OG2s have the same template, same fill type, and same fast side as the Costello. Why do those have different names? That was my point. I threw the bag more since that review and my opinion hasn't changed. I don't like the bag. There are better bags out there that have the same or similar materials. That doesn't mean that you won't like it. We all have different preferences in the types of bags that we like. That's why there are a lot of different bag makers out there. I do my best to be honest in all of my reviews. Sometimes that means giving a negative review. It's nothing against Black Sheep. The Costello is one of my favorite bags. I respect your opinion and I thank you for sharing it. If my opinion of the bag had changed, I would have done another review. Since my opinion didn't change, I didn't feel that another review was justified.
@MikesBags opinions are just opinions. That's understandable and I'm sure there's better bags out there. I haven't thrown the bag yet but have not heard anyone that owns costello X say its a hole clogger. I'm sure it's also a marketing thing when it came down to naming the bag since costellos are popular.
I was going to ask the same question. I bought a set of Wintertides and they play a bit quick for me. I was considering this bag or the OG2. Any insight that Mike can recommend would greatly appreciated
The Wintertides are much floppier than these. That's the big difference. The fast side material is flipped between the two bags. The Wintertide uses the faster side of that material. Slow side is the same and the fill is close to the same. The Costello X is better for blocking and pushing. The Wintertide is a little more hole friendly and won't clog.
It's quite a bit different in playability. The different slow material really changes how the bag feels and plays. I prefer the regular Costello over the X.
I don't have a set of the Nebula 2s to review. I've stopped buying Galaxy bags right now because they are constantly changing template, fill, materials, etc. I'm waiting until they figure out their bags before I start reviewing them again. It's frustrating for me when I review a bag and then they make a change. My reviews end up being obsolete. For example, the Conspiracy bags I reviewed are not the same bags that you get now. Plus, the random Facebook drops make it impossible for me to get a set. I am intrigued by the Nebula 2s and I would love to review them.
@Mike's Bags Really good bags, the fast side is the carpet side, which was a bit odd at first but after I got use to it they melt in the hole. I already won a couple of tournaments with them.

Sounds like a damn good carpet bag overall. Thanks for the review Mike
It is. I think I prefer the Swag Bags Chaos a little better but this is a great bag.

I ordered a second set from the last drop. Let me know how what you think of them after you've had time to break them in.
I truly appreciate the great honest review. I was excited for this bag because of how much I love Costello. I may have to rethink buying a set or at least wait until I throw someone else’s. Thanks again for the great review.
I was excited about it also. It's a good bag but not as good as I was hoping. Honestly, I would choose the Swag Bags Chaos over this.
@@MikesBags That is exactly where I am leaning

These bags are good but I was hoping to like them more. The ACL stamp makes a little better. If I don't need the stamp, I would take the Southwest Jefe.
CostelloX VS B3 Coyote? Would also be interested in a shootout between all these clone carpets. Sounds like B3 is current King?
I was really waiting for the Costello x drop. After seeing this review, I think I would prefer the jefe. Same exact material (5-8) but mixed fill in the jefe. Great looking bag, I’ve always wanted to get a set of black sheep. Just haven’t done it yet.
Black Sheep makes some good bags. I think the regular Costello is their best bag.
Agree 100% with you on the shitty name. I really love the bag, and the carpet. I only wish they used a mix fill.

They are dropping tonight at 5pm. I'm guessing they will sell out so you need to be quick.

I like the original Costello’s! Excellent bag!

I have full reviews up on both of those bags. Do a search on my channel and you'll find them. After watching them, you'll know which one I prefer. 😁
Great review! Can you do one on WTF kilo? Curious if the fill is the same wtf fill on tango or if it’s disc. If they clog also

I agree, they could’ve put a little more time and effort into the name. Great review.
Thanks!
I was dead set on having this bag within a week of it being released but now I'm iffy about buying it... I thought it be floppier
To be fair, my set is not fully broke in so they may get a little floppier but they will never be as floppy as the regular Costello. It is a good bag and I would still recommend it.
They get pretty floppy once broken in all the way
Mine have not gotten very floppy. Mine have some flop to them but they are not close to being as floppy as my Costellos.
How would u compare costello x to swags chaos? If u had to chose one which one will u chose?
Chaos is my choice. I have full reviews up on both bags that will explain why I like the Chaos better.
Trying to choose between the Costello X and Wizard so how does the X compare?
Does one have a large template than the other?
If new to Black Sheep what would you recommend; OG2, Costello, or CostelloX? All seem very similar.
B3 Coyote, SubZero Wintertide, X Level Lights Out, and Southwest Jefe are my favorite clone carpet bags. The Swag Bags Chaos is my favorite R carpet bag.

Yes it is. It snowed a little the night before I recorded.

No it's different than the Prism. The Prism is the same as the Viper R. This is that clone material.
