Thank you so much for this, Terri and Paula. I am using a cool toned, variegated yarn, and I am making these for a local autism charity to use as stim toys
I just made my first octopus and I LOVE LOVE LOVE him. Thank you so much for making this video. And to let you know there are many more in my future. Thanks again.
Thanks Paula, for a cute design! and allowing Teri to show us how to make it! Thanks Teri, for your time, and your clear tutorial! I'm headed to make some now! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Thank you so much Terri, ❤ your videos! I so enjoy the projects you do! And you are wonderful about letting us know where to get the patterns and the yarn you used and also any modifications to the pattern that you made! You do beautiful crochet work, and you are an exceptional person!!❤
I am so into octopi 🐙 this is soooooo adorable. Thank you for this great tutorial. I will be making a lot of these for an extra Christmas surprise for my cousins
Fun pattern. First one was pretty tedious to make, the second one wasn't quite so bad. My critter's legs didn't curl very well, so I switched from HDC to 2SC in each stitch. Thanks to both you ladies!
I figured out if I put the hdc the 1 piece of yarn in the bottom of the chain, instead of the 2 pieces of yarn on the top of the chain, the leg curled right up. Maybe that helps! ❤
Loved this tutorial! I'm just weaving in the ends on a yellow octopus using a yarn that is yellow but with little flecks of other colours in it, so it kinda almost looks real! Thanks Terri! I'll probably send one to my grandson in his Advent Christmas box! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
Hey Terri, love this tutorial so very much! Thankyou you so much as I’ll be making these fun octopuses for my grandkids!🎊🎊🎊🥳🥳🤪see ya in your next podcast 🥳🎉
I just finished one Terry! My seven-year-old granddaughter wanted one with pink eyes and pink yarn. On the first leg, I went under two loops of the chain. That leg didn't curl at all, so I redid that leg, going under the top loop only, which worked much better. I think I was using Caron Simply Soft and maybe a coarser yarn might curl up more. But truthfully, now that it's done, all the legs seem to be curling up more. It's really cute! The second one should go much faster than the first!
Thank you so much for your comment, I was doing the same thing, going under the top two loops of the stitch! A friend suggested to me that I should try going under one loop, you figured it out yourself! ❤
Thank you Terri. Some reason ended up watching right handed version, instead of the left-hand one! I'm going to make some for the grandchildren with stick on googly eyes. Take care xxJane 🐑🌈
Got the pattern from the designer who was in a Facebook group. She gave me permission to make a tutorial but I am not sure if she had put the pattern in pdf form or not.
Got mine from Temu but I found them on Amazon too. www.amazon.com/otters-Eyeball-Monster-Stuffers-Classroom/dp/B0CJRJSDF7/ref=sr_1_35?crid=2H3SCAJ8UT2YF&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.dozrnvTB6KEJzUGDZ3Ff-I0hAoyDPqT_CS46xixurEvIOGGjfQj3Ro3T_s5M5CJIW-Lnp2YQNO5rJradVHl6RV8RRZh_wuzSrYdbjHgFVJX9HsrZYVWjergMK7WYqn6orZHA-aiKSq5wqoVXS7juaiTPj3EwvMqWfOycsMGJG2kKJoI8DRxkVD-G5aAuhtwCudw1fNXm2OKzo1cHan0ShlzeoGYPIxQoIj_GiVSGUsth5Xjsi04JoI0tG-w3LXO4SDr_8z7WrSQPKLkXiI99PtomM3xNQk5jY-zmyEI7t4k.nB5dOpJPWAAvSVDFn2sYT9kvlf5imImkuxj6tiIzsA4&dib_tag=se&keywords=googly%2Beyes&qid=1716856532&sprefix=googly%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-35&th=1
Hmmm, I am not sure. You can try 2 stitches in each but it might be more of a cork screw. Maybe try 2 stitches in every other one and see what that does.
That is strange. You can try to put 2 stitches in one chain. If that is too much, then try doing 2 stitches in one and then one stitch in the next and so on. Maybe that would get them curling.
Please make more of these googly eye tutorials. Your explanations were so easy to understand. Great video 😊

I made my one just now
Thankyou very much❤❤
Fun pattern. First one was pretty tedious to make, the second one wasn't quite so bad. My critter's legs didn't curl very well, so I switched from HDC to 2SC in each stitch. Thanks to both you ladies!
The legs weren't curling for me, so tried 2 hdc in each ....way more gooder 🤣
I figured out if I put the hdc the 1 piece of yarn in the bottom of the chain, instead of the 2 pieces of yarn on the top of the chain, the leg curled right up. Maybe that helps! ❤

Thank you, Terri. These are soo cute! 🧶💝

I ended up using a 4mm hook for the body and a 3.50 for the legs and alternating 1 hdc, then 2 hdc down the ch and now the legs are curling nicely!
Thank you Terri.
Some reason ended up watching right handed version, instead of the left-hand one!
I'm going to make some for the grandchildren with stick on googly eyes.
Take care xxJane 🐑🌈
Thank you, Terri. Awesome tutorial❣❣

Super cute! Thank You!
Love this. Thank you for sharing 😘
Love it.
Thanks for the fun tutorial. Does Paula have a website as I can't find her and I was going to see what other things she's making?
Not that I know of.
So cute!
I bought 3 bags of these google eyes from Temu, 50 eyes were $8.98 Canadian funds, Thank you for a great video
Is there PDF written instructions?
Got the pattern from the designer who was in a Facebook group. She gave me permission to make a tutorial but I am not sure if she had put the pattern in pdf form or not.
I had the eyes already so I made a octopus right away!! Does Pula have other patterns? I can’t her online. Thanks.
I don't think so.
love the video!!!
This is a great tutorial! I am new to crochet, and I am wondering why my legs are not twisting like yours?
Not sure. You can try to make an extra hdc in every other stitch to see what that does.
Just learned how to make worry worms and now this one. :) Even though, I'm left handed.
2:15 Start pattern
Where do you buy the eyes would love to do some for the grand kids

Which variegated yarn do you use please
It was Red Heart Super Saver Planned Pooling yarn.
I bought my eyes at Walmart for .97. They were in the party section.
Mine didn't curl up on its own. Why?
Not sure why. You can try putting 2 stitches in each stitch or in every other stitch with one stitch in between to see if that helps.
my legs do not curl. it is straight crochet so why would it curl? i usually need 2 or 3 in each to curl.
Hmmm, I am not sure. You can try 2 stitches in each but it might be more of a cork screw. Maybe try 2 stitches in every other one and see what that does.
Mine aren't curling
Mine aren't either 😢
That is strange. You can try to put 2 stitches in one chain. If that is too much, then try doing 2 stitches in one and then one stitch in the next and so on. Maybe that would get them curling.
The 2 stitches helped. Thank you.
well, my legs did NOT curl
I am sorry that yours didn't curl. You could try doing extra stitches on your legs like every other stitch put in 2 stitches instead of one.
