Ibanez has huge variety of types of guitars
Including ones that are more traditional way more than just shred guitars (& great basses too-although the video is on guitars)
Ibanez has some great options for hollowbodies & semihollowbodies as well
I have two Ibanez guitars I love, neither is a shredder
If shredders are your thing, cool-consider Ibanez
If shredders aren’t your thing, cool-consider Ibanez

I have the Epi in red sunburst. It plays and sounds great. The setup was perfect out of the box. I think it was a steal for the 3 bills I paid. I am 68 and been playing since I was 16 so I do know a little about guitars. Get a good amp for it and jam your heart out.

My second ever guitar was a Squier. It was a metallic blue, Richie Sambora signature model with Dimarzio pickups, and a Floyd Rose floating tremolo. I bought it second hand and I loved it. The previous owner clearly loved it as well. It was stolen from my house when I was in work and I never saw it again.

We have a problem here. A beginner that doesn't know any better would think that the Squier is better then the Epiphone, just because the Squier's volume was much higher.
So I don't think that the Epiphone got a fair representation vs the Squier from the perspective of the sound it could make.
It could be simply fixed by just raising the Epiphone volume to match the Squier.

I only recently got into electric. My first electric was a Squier Affinity Stratocaster, and more recently I added a Firefly FF-338 (ES-335 style knock-off). I don't have a ton of money to put into guitars, so I am happy with these, which I got used at bargain prices.

Best thing you can do is go to a guitar shop and play as many as possible. The main job of the guitar is how it feels in your hands. The tone can be changed wildly with amps, pedals etc. Experiment with different strings too!

My first and so far only electric guitar is epiphone's Les Paul Standard plusTop Pro HCS (Heritage Cherry Sunburst -color) from sale for 499€ (normal price was 629€). It's got humbucker pro pickups and high quality tuners and mahogany body among some (other?) triple A features, some people have said that it's better than some at least 1000€ guitars.

The most important thing is that you buy a Gibson Les Paul, Gibson SG or Fender Telecaster. There are others that work as 'substitutes' (i.e. Squire, Epiphone, Charvel), but these are the staples. Most everything else is a bad imitation.

The whole "set neck sustain and body sound" vs. bolt on necks has been scientifically debunked. Its sad when you see people who are providing guidance like this still proclaiming these old wives tales basically. Overall its a good informative video, but that whole tone wood discussion or set neck construction affecting sound and sustain discussion is really disappointing to see in this day and age where we don't have to assume but instead know the facts.
