@@EarthSurferUSAWhat in the f did you put your comment in this thread for? Maybe you have a hard time following a topic, and it must’ve happened back in the good ole days. Probably why you have the mag issues. Good news is you can hire me to be your full time internet guide and I can help you post in appropriate places to avoid the embarrassment you face.
Fantastic effort Josh! To qualify and finish both races - without crashing - is no small thing, especially while you hold down a full time job, a no-doubt busy one a that. Colour me impressed!
Nice race bike you have there... I'm stoked for you that KTM and all of your sponsors hooked you up. Red Line sponsored my brother throughout our MX career and it's hands down the best oils and fluids! Gratz on making the main. 👍
Josh really is the man ! I understand: you always compare yourself with your best results, but those were also results as a full-time racer! I personally was extremely impressed by the performance on the 350 with the preparation you had ! Especially since you certainly weren't training 24/7 during the preparation period because you also had another job. I hope we see another video like this 👍
That was really cool, just qualifying on a 350 against the best racers in the world shows the bike skills you have Josh, can’t wait for Hangtown this weekend ❤🙏🏁
Very cool you are qualifying. If I were to go back in time when I raced my second career in 25+ and senior classes the 350 would be perfect. Extra power without the extra weight. Thanks and good luck next week!
A track with a harder base would help, I rode better on it at Glen Helen at the Stop Watch National race two weeks ago. Of course that's my home track, but I beat a lot of guys at GH who beat me by a long way at Pala
I mean the mxgp factory bikes are significantly different than a AMA privateer 350. I understand your point though, would love to see Jett on a 350 and see how he do at a National. No disrespect to Josh or bike builders, awesome video and report.
I know this feeling all too well. I refuse to give up my 2002 RM 125 (stroked out to a 144), and trying to beat these 250Fs is a chore, to say the least.
Interested to know if it was truly stroked to 144 and not bored out like the conventional method, what crank/throw was used to gain the extra or was it completely custom made?👌🏼👌🏼
2007 MXON - RV whooped the whole 450 class on a KX250F (he went 1-1). Yes, 350s can absolutely be competitive, what they lose in grunt they gain in handling.
Trick bike! Great to see a 350 out there I’d like to see you keep riding it or do one moto 350 the next 450 I’d imagine the results would be near the same
I really enjoyed this 350 trial because it’s something different. I hope at some stage you give it another go Josh. Maybe try it on a track that is not so deep that might give the 350 a bit more of a chance
Fox raceway Levi's 250 qualifying time would have put him 6th in 450 class. A couple seconds off 2nd and 3rd. So I can't imagine why a 350 couldn't compete very well
I agree. I think with the right rider it would do better. I thought it would be good for the same reason, but it was tough! The real test comes this weekend if I can do any better on a 450
@shawnhorne9296 firstmost...the title isn't can J Mo compete on a 350 in a national. It's can a 350...meaning pick a rider. Btw...you seen him race a 2 stroke...dude kills it full time racer or not
The 350 motor concept is very praktikal im my Opinion . U get the tourge and the rew`s and the horsepower. While basigly placeing it on a 250 bottom end. With less Rotation mass to Steuer arond corners.
Sorry to say it Josh, but you’re starting to suffer from the same thing most of us old Pro’s suffer from, and that’s just you’re not as young and fast as you used to be. 😂 although I don’t currently have one, the 350 is my go to bike and is my favorite all everything bike. So I was curious to see how it worked out for you. I happen to be there (displaying my Rick Hemmi, Bruce Bunch and Kyle Fleming RM80’s with the Legends And Heroes guys ) and got to watch you live running in fourth in the LCQ and I was pulling for you, saying get in there Josh you don’t have a story if you don’t make the show or makes the 350 look bad. Anyway, stoked to see you made it in and enjoy these videos, good luck and Hangtown.
😄ya… maybe a 350 2 stroke, but probably not happening giving up that 100 cc power advantage on a 350 4 stroke. In fact that’s what they need to do to give 2 strokes a chance against the modern 450s. A 450 4 stroke vs a 250 2 stroke is not a fair fight. I think increasing that displacement from 250 to 350 would even thinks up a lot. Who agrees?
You can only go as fast as your ability. How did Ricky beat everyone while still on a two stroke 250? James did it on a 125 while everyone was on 250s. These guys didn’t just beat the best riders in the world, they beat them bad. I finish the same position on my 125/250f/250 two stroke.
@@RubelessThis is true. But Ricky & James were exceptions and prodigies, and don’t represent most riders. They are truly outliers in the sport of MX. That broad power curve, torque, horsepower advantage that the 4 stroke riders enjoy is too much for most riders to overcome. Plus companies poured all the tech into the 4 strokes. It makes it way easier to go fast on a 4 stroke bike and requires less skill. It’s only the very latest generation of Austrian 2 strokes that have given them the fuel injection, launch control, traction control, & MAP settings that the 4 strokes have had for a while now. The 2 strokes stayed carbureted and primitive. It made jumping onto a 4 stroke the easy & obvious choice
You also chose the fastest track on the circuit to race a 350. I think the power difference wouldn’t be quite as obvious on a different track. Try it again at High Point!
I tell ya man, the sooner the Japs start making a 400 motocross bike, the better, you heard it here first. You could go faster with less effort if you laid you bars back a touch, it gives better leverage over the steering.
This was a blast to watch! Thanks for sharing the experience! However, you need to grow that beard back, it’s a built in guarantee you’ll be faster annnd it’s built in roost protection!
You put to much blue Husqvarna parts on it! 😁 No matter what, you did it! Thinking needs a little bit more time to click on the 350 'cause you can use a little bit more the corner speed against the 450s? Let us know about the boot thing more? Music during moto? No way!
I believe the 450 class. Everyone should be riding the 350, the 350 motorcycles is pleny fast enough and there's no doubt in my mind that jet lawrence could win on a 350
Compete. Yes. Win. No. Head to head with the best in the world you have to have the same equipment. Regardless of the various advantages, you can't give up 100cc. No privateer chooses to ride a 350.
