10:05 some team of 2 or 3 people had to work together to animate a spring sperm crawl up the Archegonium to fertilize the egg with a bright glow and a "Bing" sound effect. just think about that.
This video explains fern life cycles better than any others I found. My professor was good, but the syllabus didn't give him nearly enough time on the subject.
Nothing short of amazing...I live next to an coast live oak forest that is replete with Coast wood ferns...they are in the spore producing stage with numerous sori on fronds...praying for rain, or I'll make it rain with my DeWalt Power washer sold exclusively at the Home Depot...Let's Do This!
It’s 3:30am. I am here out of my own free will. I’m so amazed that it took me 30 mins to watch this because I slowed down the speed of the video and kept going back to make sure I’m understanding correctly. I’m watching the full video again but at normal speed this time. I’ve been on a fern kick for the past few hours now. I came to the conclusion that ferns are probably one of the most intelligent organisms there are and it’s difficult for me to call it a “plant”. I read somewhere that Einstein was terrified of them. They didn’t make sense to him . That’s what made me look into them. If that was really true, can you imagine if Einstein could only see this video? He’d end up in a psych ward! Thanks so much for posting this. I’m greatly enjoying it.
I didn't understand this cycle until I watched this video...I really enjoyed an liked it very well. Keep on with your good work.. we're all grateful 🙏🏿
Exactly why I watched as well. I never knew how complex the process is ! I wonder if staghorns have kept the gamete's fronds to grow as the shield fronds to support the the fertile fronds 🤔
Learning about this in biology, but the 2d diagrams made it difficult to wrap my head around. This video explains it beautifully. The mechanism to open the sporangia is particularly fascinating! Evolution is such a magnificent thing
This was really fascinating to watch & learn..Also it's explained in a clear way & is easier to understand.. I have got two ferns & would like to try growing the spores.. Happy learning 🌲🪴🌱☮️🌲🪴🌱☮️
Does the male flagella behave like a plant or an animal, or neither. I would liked to think It behaves like an animal, particularly since the fern is a more ancient non - flowering.
3:53, so does one spore contain many tetrads? All the tetrads in one spore are genetically different (because they all underwent meiosis separately, so they will have different combinations of DNA). If so, how does selection work for which tetrad will germinate, and determine the DNA of the rhizoid?
Fantastic explanation of the Life Cycle of Ferns! I am doing an Experiment of growing Treeferns from spores at the moment. Very successful so far. They are now in their sexual Stage and a Little beyond as the first real “fronds” emerge. Very exciting experience i never did before.
Pretty amazing, the more I learn about science and nature the more ridiculous I find evolution by random mutation to be. These are clearly micro machines brilliantly designed to perform the functions they are programmed to do. If evolution was true, it should be too hard to get so many complex co-dependent mechanisms to develop in tandem with other mechanisms- yet we constantly see it in everything we look at, especially now with the aid of electron microscopes. The Science of the small has destroyed darwin, yet all these old dogs just can't let go of their views, which has been a constant problem in science. Evolution is pseudo-science kids!
If you are idiot and can't understand some complicated stuff, don't show your stupidness. Evolution of Plantae took 2,5 BILLION of years. BILLION. Your petite brain just can't imagine that. Science can explain this evolution (and it did) easily and effectively. I bet you didn't even OPEN any botanical or evolutionary book. It is so easy to announce something that you don't even understand a lie. Grow up, study. Don't be a hostage of delusion.
@@stairwayunicorn4861 show me a study where right handed amino acids (the 20-21 that code for life) came together just right to form a single protein without life making it. This should be easy to demonstrate. I wish people I ask this of understood the significance of what this means. It's worse than trying to form a castle by shaking Legos in a box. Nobody ever answers this. This is just one incredible problem of many. Anyone who loves coding or engineering should understand- such masterpiece of sophisticated exacting design is every part of every part in microbiology. Iteration cannot arrive at this.
Your videos makes me feel more exited to study biology....😁😁😁😁👌👌👌
Lauda ka exciting its depressing
Agree , probably you are in college now 😅
NPC?

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was pretty absurd they added the bing sound too. Pretty funny though.

thank you it helped to understand ferns more elaborately..
Holy hell, ferns are absolutely fascinating.
And try reading the same level of underwater corals, plants and critters. Barnacles are a real hoot.
This video helped me a lot in studying this cycle in biology, I can't thank you enough really!! that's sooo creative of you!! thanks :)
What an excellent presentation of the reproductive cycle of ferns.

9 year old smart kid plus this = joy
Imagine how many biology tests these videos are helping people to ace.
You are doing great job please continue uploading video on botany
I didn't understand this cycle until I watched this video...I really enjoyed an liked it very well.
Keep on with your good work.. we're all grateful 🙏🏿
Absolutely fascinating!!! I was referred to this video as I have harvested spores from my staghorn fern and am going to try my luck at germination.
Exactly why I watched as well. I never knew how complex the process is ! I wonder if staghorns have kept the gamete's fronds to grow as the shield fronds to support the the fertile fronds 🤔
I FINALLY understood the gametophyte and sporophyte phase. Thank you!
sameee

Thanks man. Wishing you a good day.
That was very helpful for my schoolwork
It's helpful for my exam😆
I'm trying to propagate fern from spores. This really helps me to understand them better
GREAT VIDEO
indeed, amazing!!
Great voice.
nice explaination
pls provide some more vidEOS
so that we can study more easily
the thunder sounds like someone was shaking cereal inside those container things
Sir plz start making more videos like this 🙏🙏
The Como Zoo Conservatory in Saint Paul Minnesota has a lot really great room just of ferns!
They are as amazing as flowering plants in reproduction strategy, but much more novel to humans.
Great video!
I love the work happening within the sporangium
This was really fascinating to watch & learn..Also it's explained in a clear way & is easier to understand..
I have got two ferns & would like to try growing the spores..
Happy learning 🌲🪴🌱☮️🌲🪴🌱☮️
thanks for my project
these videos expand my creativity. Thank you!
You explain very well. Keep it up 👍
Thank you for the upload!
ferns are nice plants and we want more videos
This video give me strength to select biology in class 11. I realise from this video biology is super intrusting subject.
Amazing work
this series is awesome!
I love the great graphics and deteail
Ooo seriously thank you very much 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😭😭😭😭
thanks for making this beautiful animation
we want more content❤😊
It's like an American business, the adult plant outsources it's means of production to a factory somewhere else.
thanks a lot for the great explanation
Very much complete! Very educational!
They have to fertilize from outside...that’s what makes flower plants dominate the planet later...I suppose
Very good video
Amazing
Thanks a lot!!
Thankyou for the video ..................
It made my learning easy n intresting ........:):)
Thanks for such an amazing explanation🤗🤗🤗🤗
Barbara brought me here, LBK gang where you at?
Thanks for this video can I used it in my online class?
whoa blast from the past!
Cool video :)
excellent work
Now I know a lot about plants😆😀🖒
Understood!!
wonderful, Thank you

O.o fertilisation
very nice after watch this video I don't need a book to read pteridophytes because all cantain cover in this video
thanks a lot man.

Hi thx for helping me to explain in class
جماعة السادس المتميزين مروا من هنا😄
Well. Its amazing video! Just to add sth. the archegonium releases malic acid that causes chemo taxis and the antheridia are attracted towards it.
WOAHHH!!! AMAZINGGG!!!😮😮😮
thnx for the video

These videos are really really helpful but I can’t handle the flute music whenever there’s a scene transition
Ciclo biológico de un helecho isosporado
Too much effective...thanku!!
شكرا ، فهمت .
It's amazing 😍
Wow

Why does the stupid bisexual plant always have to form a heart...?

You could have said that in a more respectful way.
Well said Maria :) Damn, people nowadays proclaim to be experts on the stuff they don't understand instead of the things they do.
you have no idea what you're talking about.
